“Kelly and Daniel are truly wonderful! I was so nervous about leaving my baby for the first time, but after doing a lot of research, I decided to trust them. I have to say, it was the best decision I could have made. Kelly and Daniel are so passionate about animals. They were incredibly patient with my baby, who was a bit down for the first few days, but soon, with their attention, she started to feel better. They take the dogs for walks every day, and they always send me photos in the morning and afternoon. I’m so satisfied and grateful. I highly recommend them. The price was quite reasonable. I was away for 15 days.”

“Aaron knew Zeus from walking him previously, so we were thrilled when he was willing & able to have Zeus stay in his home while we were away. Thank you Aaron and family for taking such good care of our mutt.”

“Going to Emily's is like our furry boys going to Grandma's house! She is so kind and really understands the behavior of dogs. They had a great time and were very well cared for. We would recommend Emily for sure!”

“Trusted them completely with my fur babies. They had some anxiety with being without the family but Shannon and David handled it beautifully and were so gracious. Would definitely use them again!”

“Sussy was fantastic with my two littles. I was visiting Reno so we didn't have time for meet and greet beforehand. However, we were able to visit a bit at the drop off. Both of my babies slept all the way back home. I will definitely use Sussy again when visiting.”

“Ron was really great in helping me out of a last minute jam by accepting BooBoo on short notice. He is a true animal Lover and BooBoo enjoys her time at Ron’s house and playing with Lexin”

“Filanthi and her daughter were so loving to my senior dog, Nugget. I appreciate their enthusiasm and attention given to my dog who has limited vision and is hard of hearing. Nugget also enjoyed hanging out with their senior dog which made his stay more comfortable.”
“I’ll be honest, Chelsea didn’t have a ton of reviews when I first reached out, so I was a little hesitant at first, especially since our previous dog sitter moved away and Blue is truly our baby. I’m so grateful I decided to take a chance because Chelsea was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning, she was kind, communicative, and very flexible, which immediately made me feel at ease. Throughout our week-long vacation, she sent regular updates and photos that meant so much to me and made it easy to relax knowing Blue was happy and well cared for. He settled in so naturally that it felt like he was staying with family, not just a sitter. Coming home to a happy, calm dog confirmed everything. It was clear she treated him with so much love and attention. Chelsea is someone who genuinely cares about animals and takes great pride in what she does. I felt incredibly safe leaving Blue in her care and would not hesitate to book with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter they can trust and feel confident with.”

“Farrah and her mom were amazing!! our little Oreo was so loved while we were gone, they were updating me everyday and sending me pictures of him. I would definitely book them again next time we go on a trip. ✨”

“Hallie did an excellent job with our very large bernadoodles. They were happy and well taken care of. Bernie and Doodle were happy and healthy when we picked them up.”

“SUCH A GOOD PETSITTER!!!!! Made sure Zues was well taken care of and walked him. Made or ease of going down for a funeral so much better knowing he was being loved like we would have. She also sent lots of photos and videos everyday, He came home so happy. Defiantly will recommend Samantha and Defiantly will use her again.”

“Addie was very informative and responsive on how my pup was doing. I really appreciated her sending me videos and pictures of my baby playing with her dog and overall having fun.”

“My dog and I both loved Kathy. I was a little nervous, leaving him because I rarely board him, but I felt so comfortable after leaving him with Kathy. She sent me photos throughout the day each day with updates. My dog had fun and felt comfortable there and I will definitely use her again.”

“Kat and Corey did a great job hosting my dog over a long weekend! They sent daily updates and photos and kept her active on lots of adventures to the park, the lake, and on hikes. I will definitely book my dog with Kat and Corey again next time I go out of town.”

“Crystal and Riley took such great care of my dog while I was away! They were very friendly and were able to accommodate different pick up and drop off times when my schedule changed unexpectedly. I received a lot of pictures and frequent communication, and even some treats to take home! My pup was full of smiles his whole stay. We will definitely be returning, I would highly recommend Crystal and Riley to anyone looking for a great home away from home for their dogs.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Verdi home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Verdi.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Verdi sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
