“I feel lucky that I found Melissa to care for our miniature poodle Cooper. Cooper was never happy in a commercial daycare situation but felt at home at Melissa's house. Melissa truly loves every pup in her care and regularly communicates updates on your dog's behavior. 🐶 Right away we felt at ease after leaving our dog for a few days with Melissa and highly recommend her services!”

“Kathy was so wonderful with my pup Steve! She sent daily updates and it was so obvious how happy and well-cared for he was. I think Steve had the time of his life and didn't miss us for one moment!”

“Faith is an absolute gem of a dog sitter, and I genuinely can’t recommend her enough. I reached out last minute — the kind of request most sitters would turn down without a second thought — and she said yes without hesitation. What really stood out was how thoughtfully she handled Atlas’s anxiety. She didn’t treat it as an inconvenience; she approached it with patience and genuine care, and it made such a difference knowing my pup was in calm, understanding hands rather than just being “watched.” On top of that, she was incredibly flexible with pick-up and drop-off times, and even made a special exception for me when I needed a time outside her normal hours. She didn’t make me feel like a burden for asking — she just made it work. That kind of grace is rare. And the updates! She check-ins with photos and messages that were so reassuring. You could tell she wasn’t just going through the motions — she actually cared how he was doing. If you have a dog with any special needs or anxiety, Faith is your person. She went above and beyond in every way. Thank you Faith! 🐾”

About: Compassionate and dependable animal caregiver with 5 years of hands on experience caring for four Goldendoodles and one Black Labrador. Skilled in providing daily care, including feeding, exercise, maintaining routines, and ensuring a safe, healthy environment. Experienced in managing multiple dogs at once, recognizing behavioral cues, and meeting each animal’s unique needs with patience and attention. Dedicated to promoting the well-being, comfort, and happiness of every pet while building trust with both animals and their owners. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I regularly go on runs, walks, hikes, paddle boarding trips, and swimming, and I would love to have a dog accompany me during those activities. Caring for pets would add structure and purpose to my day while also keeping me active and engaged. I also work full time as a medical assistant at Tahoe Forest Health System Monday through Thursday from 5:45 AM to 4:20 PM, so I really value making the most of my time outside of work. Having pet care responsibilities would be a great way for me to stay busy and active after my shifts or on my days off. Since I don’t have much family or many friends in the area, I genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals and would love to build a bond with your pets. Spending time with them would not only keep them happy and exercised, but also keep me motivated, fulfilled, and connected throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention, companionship, and supervision while in my care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they feel safe and well cared for in their own environment. When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. This experience has helped me stay confident and attentive when caring for other people’s pets, and I treat every animal like they are my own while they are in my care.
“Our Kennie is slow to warm up to strangers and other dogs and he made sure to take extra time with her to help her feel more comfortable! He also provided many updates to help us feel more at ease. This was our first time boarding our puppy and I could not be happier!”

“April and Rachel were the absolute best; very responsive, sending pictures throughout Levi’s stay, and provided great care. Levi had a great time and we will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Could not have been a better experience! Our puppy dog Tito was treated as family during the course of his stay. Andrea was amazing at letting me know he was doing ok and I think Tito has found a new best friend with Henry! Thank you all so very much !!!”

“I'm always nervous when someone new watches our little girl Riley, but Patty and Randy made us feel at ease as soon as we dropped Riley off. Love that its only small dogs as that is so hard to find (especially near South Lake Tahoe). Great communication and just lovely people all around - highly recommend!”

“This was the first time we had left our puppy, Lucy, with anyone. We were a little nervous since we did not know how she would do. Ron and his pup Lexi took great care of Lucy. Having Lexi to play with made a big difference in making Lucy feel at home. She had a great time and Ron sent lots of updates to make us fee at ease with her stay. His house was set up perfect for her safety, and she had plenty of room to play inside and out. We will absolutely use Ron again in the future.”

“Christina and fam are wonderful! It's very clear that they deeply care for their own pets and did everything possible to make sure our two little old ladies were right at home. For me, one of the biggest ways to tell how things went is during pick up. When I got there, my dogs were of course excited to see me but clearly felt right at home with Christina, weren't stressed out or any of those other kinds of things you might look out for. We are so pleased with everything, we are booking again!”

“Chelsea was a wonderful dog sitter! She communicated a ton and sent so many fun pics. My dog doesn’t get out a lot but her family and adorable pug made it so easy to be away. Highly recommend!”

“I am so happy with the care Sarge received!! He’s little and old and I was nervous to leave him, but Kristin was kind and accommodating of his picky eating habits, and sent lovely updates. Absolutely will look to them again for our next trip!!!”

“Megan was a delight to work with. She was prompt with replies and kept me updated on how Frankie was doing through text and pictures! I wouldn't hesitate to use her again in the future!”

She is a true dog person and Chewy picked up on that instantly,he was very comfortable with her and her dog. I will most certainly call on Laura again and will recommend her to my friends. Thank you Laura for a worry free trip! You are amazing!”

“Aaron and Nicole were flexible, communicative, and based on the photos, my dog seemed to love them! I really appreciate how they walked him on the trails near their home.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Incline Village
This was our first foray into using Rover. Megan wonderfully handled our Great Dane, Dakota, who's skittish and energetic. One her first visit, Megan took Dakota out for a walk and on our return visit the next day Dakota eagerly pulled herself to Megan's front door. Communication with Megan was excellent and we would use her again and recommend her to our friends.

Karen was an amazing sitter for our golden retriever. Karen has a giant, well-kept backyard and an adorable golden retriever of her own. Our dog spent the day running and playing. Karen was super friendly, very communicative and took lots of photos and videos of the dog playing. Definitely recommend.
