“Teresa was so good to Maggie, and Maggie really warmed up quickly to her. I was so impressed because Maggie’s usually wary of new people. It was good to know Maggie was being taken care of while I was out of town. Definitely recommend Teresa!!”

“Emily was great with my shy kitty! She was able to get him to come out of hiding and even give him some head and belly pets, which is rare for him. Great communication also. Highly recommend.”

“Shannon came exactly as scheduled and was very thorough with her visit reports. She was flexible with our dog's sometimes fussy personality and made sure her needs were met. Shannon gets our highest recommendation!”
“Amanda was amazing. Even took the time to visit for a quick meet and greet prior to the appointment. Very friendly and Loki loved her. Will definitely call again when needed and highly recommend.”

About: I grew up with pet dogs. I've since become a "cat lady" but continue to love dogs. Out on neighborhood walks I have to stop and pet every dog and cat I meet! There's nothing like a bright dog face and and a wagging tail or a cat purring and rubbing against my legs! I'm recently retired and have lots of time to spend taking care of your pets. I'm available weekdays and weekends, daytime and evenings, and holidays. I'm flexible and open to hearing about your pet sitting scheduling needs. I grew up with dogs, but now I'm a cat lady who loves and pampers my little boy, Mr. Kitty. I prepare special food for him, give him lots of attention, and take him for long walks in his cat stroller. I'm an energetic and responsible recently retired hospice nurse. I'll pamper your pets and give them the greatest care. I'll also treat your space with respect and maintain a clean environment in your home.

“Holly was phenomenal. Very responsive, great updates and pictures of our dogs. She came over to meet the dogs and get a feel for their routine and temperament before handing her the reins for the weekend. My wife and I would use holly again and recommend her to anyone in need of a sitter.”

I am in grad school as well as a research assistant. I make my own hours making my schedule flexible. I’m excited to meet new pets. I will keep your space clean and allow your pet the most comfortable experience I can I am in grad school and a research assistant. I have class MWF 9-10 am. Then TTh 11-12:15 &2-3:15. I create my own hours for research. So otherwise I am normally flexible on time! I love going on walks with dogs, time/distance depending on breed and age. Every dog is different but playtime and enrichment are very important in our home so I’ll do what I can to incorporate that in their lives as well! Same with cats, depending on comfortability!
“Tess is wonderful! She communicates well, is on time, and most importantly….George loves her. When she came for our meet and greet, he started to lean on her right away💕”

About: I have been pet/housesitting, since I was 17. I love all animals but dogs hold a special place in my heart. I have taken care of all sized dogs from Great Danes to chihuahuas. Previously I have done tasks ranging from basic feeding and walking, to dosing medications and special regimens for up to a week at a time. I am also happy to do basic household tasks such as collecting mail, taking out trash, and watering plants. I do work a normal 8-5 so afternoons are when I have free time but I am more than happy to drop in durning lunch breaks if the distance allows it. I always like to meet the pet and walk through tasks with the owner of the pet before and ask for written instructions if there is any specific details to be known. I believe it is important to follow any rules put in place for the pet and I want to make them as comfortable as possible in their own home or anywhere they are under my care.
“Thank you, Anna for taking care of our Goldens! It was so nice coming home from our trip to happy dogs and clean floors. Our boys get nervous when they are left too long and they were not stressed at all when we returned. Thank you again!”

“Madelynn was amazing with my kitties, and gave them loads of love and attention. She sent great pics & kept me updated the entire time! I felt so much more comfortable with her there. She was warm & friendly, wanting to introduce herself beforehand, and gave some information about herself, which made the whole process that much better!”

“Jenny was amazing!! She sent so many pictures of my cat playing and snuggling which is exactly what I wanted my cat to get while I was gone. I came back to a happy and healthy Moose, and lots of quality pictures that I’ve saved. I would recommend Jenny to anyone!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fayetteville
Shannon is amazing!! She left detailed updates with photos. I forgot to leave my cat’s toys out, and she brought toys to play with my cat. My cat loved Shannon, and she allowed Shannon to brush her. I hate to say so many wonderful things about her for fear she will become overbooked, but she is the best !!

Tess was amazing with our cat! She spent time with Mabel, gave her treats, fed her, and played with her when she stopped by. This was the first time Tess had sat for our cat, so I was happy when Mabel came right to her. We will definitely be using Tess again for our pet sitting needs. She also sent notes and lots of pictures!

Laura was the best. I have a dog who has a lot of anxiety territorial issues. And is also very dog aggressive. Laura saw her for the sweetheart she really is and treated her as such. Really reduced my stress my traveling to know I had someone my dog trusted and enjoyed seeing taking care of her. Definitely going to be a repeat customer any time I need to travel.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
