“Marilyn did a great job communicating ahead of time and during her visits. She sent lots of pictures of our cats, their food being filled, and their water running. This gave us peace of mind while we were away! I’d definitely recommend her for anyone’s fur babies!”

“I definitely recommend! I was very skeptical at first because it was my first time booking a pet sitter but she was amazing. we met prior to the booking just to meet each other and talk a little! she followed instructions very well and I could tell my cats loved her company and were very comfortable. I loved all the photos she send and will book again!”

“Barbara has helped us with our golden retriever puppy for the last 7 months. She has came every Monday thru Friday to let him out while we are working. She has never missed a day, very responsive, and very reliable! She is so sweet and recommend her to anyone who is wanting helping with their pets. We are truly grateful for her!”

About: My family always had dogs growing up, so I've been around them my whole life. I currently have 2 dogs of my own. I've had them both since they were puppies. Brodee (a small lapdog) is now a spry 13 year old. Watson (a big moose) is now a very good 5 year old boy. Between the two of them, I've handled everything from puppy zoomies to senior-dog routines, so I'm comfortable with dogs of any size, age, or energy level. ——— I went through obedient training with Watson. This strengthened my understanding of how direct interactions can shape relationships with dogs. Our bond is really strong. ——— I regularly care for friend's dogs when they're out of town. Including feeding, freshwater, playtime, walks, and yes, cleanung up any messes without a second thought. Your dog's routine stays their routine while you're away. ——— Fair warning; I'm the person who asks "can I pet your dog?" to every single dog I see, then I end up lying on the ground letting them climb all over me. Your dog will get genuine, enthusiastic attention here, not just a bowl refill and a bathroom break. For weekdays, I am mostly available right in the morning and the later evening. I could make midday work with more planning. Weekends are pretty open. Feeding & Water I follow your dogs existing schedule and portions. I know how important it is to keep the dog's water available and their food reliable. They have amazing sense of time and they want their food when they expect it. --- Medication My senior dog as to take medication twice daily, so I am very familiar with how important timing of medication is. --- Exercise & Playtime Depending on the need of service, I may be the only contact your dog has for the day, so I want to make that time as enjoyable and exciting as possible for them. I get down on the floor with them and play. Tug, fetch, belly rubs, whatever your dog is into. --- Clean-Up Accidents happen! I handle messes promptly so they don't get any worse. --- Communication I can provide updates and photos as requested so you can have the piece of mind knowing that your little ones are being cared for while you are away.
“Alyx watched our kids on short notice and totally knocked it outta the park! I’m a nervous pet parent and she totally made me feel at ease. Lots of photos and communication which made leaving my kids so much easier. My home and my Kids were in such safe hands 🖤 thank you Alyx!!”

About: I have always had pets growing up and my love for them has only grown. I enjoy learning and understanding animals and take caring for them very seriously. I am available everyday and work morning hours Thursday - Sunday. I am a morning person and wake up around 7 am everyday regardless if I am working or not. I care for all animals as if they are my own. I’ve been around animals my entire life and understand when they need something or are trying to convey a need or want.
“Thank you, Anna for taking care of our Goldens! It was so nice coming home from our trip to happy dogs and clean floors. Our boys get nervous when they are left too long and they were not stressed at all when we returned. Thank you again!”

About: I grew up with 14 animals from horses and chickens to cats, dogs, and lizards. I am comfortable with all shapes and sizes of dogs and have a 120# Great Pyr mix who is my best friend! Dude is incredibly friendly and also loves all dogs and loves to have a friend to play with. Whether you have an active/energetic or a chill dog, I will give your dog the attention it needs. We will go on daily walks and may even take field trips to go on hikes or to public spaces like breweries for some socialization if you’re okay with that. If you are in the middle of training your pup, I will make sure to enforce whatever you need to maintain consistency. I work full time and I am usually out of the house from 7:30-5pm. Either before or after work I like to go on a walk and depending on the time of year I like to work on projects in and around my house. On top of work, I am also in a MBA program at the UofA, so my nights will be mostly studying and hanging with the pups. While I am home, the dogs are free to roam and have full access to a 0.5acre fenced in backyard. I have a fenced in backyard and a super friendly (gigantic) puppy, Dude. Your dog will get lots of affection and attention from both me and Dude. Whatever your requests are for taking care of your pup, I am on board! I can also send daily updates of their adventures throughout their stay.
“Alicen has been amazing with our puppy. He is a very anxious and shy dog and she has been great with him and he immediately became comfortable around her. She is very communicative and always updating us. Couldn’t recommend her more!”

About: I have grown up around dogs and watched them for others since I was round 9 years old. I love walking and caring for them in any way needed! My little yorkie back home has epilepsy, and when I am home I administer her pill every morning and night! I will be able to care for the sweet pets any day of the week! I am a server currently and will work pet sitting into my schedule for what is best suitable for the pet! Pets are treated like family here! I provide a safe, clean, and cozy environment where your dog or cat can feel right at home. I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible—feeding, potty breaks, walks, and playtime happen on their schedule. I offer plenty of love, supervision, and cuddles.
About: I have house-sat and cared for both dogs and cats, as well growing up and having animals living with me almost my whole life (both my own and roomate’s pets). I have had to administer medicine to both dogs and cats in the past while taking care of them, and am comfortable with doing so. Drop-In Visits: Weekdays, I can typically provide these in the very early morning (630am) and evening (after 5pm). Weekends I will usually have more flexibility. House Sitting: I typically work full time during the week (Monday-Friday), so I am gone 10-11 hours total (up to 45 minute commute each way, and then an 9 hour shift). When you request a booking, I will make sure to give you more specific details on what my schedule looks like during your dates if it varies from my normal availability. I will treat your pet and your home with the same care and respect I would treat my own! I know pets are like family, and I want you to know they are in good hands!
“Martin took great care of my two cats. He kept in contact and sent pictures regularly. He was very kind attentive. I would recommend Martin and hope to have him look after my cats again in the future.”

About: I’m retired so this is not a side gig for me! I am reliable and punctual, have experience with different breeds/sizes, and I treat every dog like family. We have an English Mastiff and our most recent addition, a Rescue Saint Bernard. I will guarantee you that I will care for your furry loved ones, as if they were my own! Recently retired - I'm very happy I get to hang out with these furry guys whenever I want! I can make myself available pretty much anytime as a result! I offer in home visits, walking, overnight stays and basic training. We have had in home pet care for years. The single most important thing for me was always TRUST and RELIABILITY. That is who I am. Our sitters always sent us pics every time they visited - I am happy to offer you the same thing if you wish. I will take care of your pets as if they were my own. My experience has taught me that positive reinforcement ALWAYS works. All these furry friends know instinctually who loves them.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
