“Tess is wonderful! She communicates well, is on time, and most importantly….George loves her. When she came for our meet and greet, he started to lean on her right away💕”

“I was worried about leaving my 8 month old cat for the first time since I got him at 2 months, and shortly after he got trapped in a tree for 24 hours. I booked Shannon for an hour a day. She came for a meet and greet before hand, paid careful attention to Sailor while I was gone, and kept me fully informed on how he was doing. She went above and beyond to care for his specific needs. He seemed to enjoy her visits and did quite well. I'm also a first time Rover user, and I'm a very happy customer!”

About: I grew up with pet dogs. I've since become a "cat lady" but continue to love dogs. Out on neighborhood walks I have to stop and pet every dog and cat I meet! There's nothing like a bright dog face and and a wagging tail or a cat purring and rubbing against my legs! I'm recently retired and have lots of time to spend taking care of your pets. I'm available weekdays and weekends, daytime and evenings, and holidays. I'm flexible and open to hearing about your pet sitting scheduling needs. I grew up with dogs, but now I'm a cat lady who loves and pampers my little boy, Mr. Kitty. I prepare special food for him, give him lots of attention, and take him for long walks in his cat stroller. I'm an energetic and responsible recently retired hospice nurse. I'll pamper your pets and give them the greatest care. I'll also treat your space with respect and maintain a clean environment in your home.
“Amanda was amazing. Even took the time to visit for a quick meet and greet prior to the appointment. Very friendly and Loki loved her. Will definitely call again when needed and highly recommend.”

“Holly was phenomenal. Very responsive, great updates and pictures of our dogs. She came over to meet the dogs and get a feel for their routine and temperament before handing her the reins for the weekend. My wife and I would use holly again and recommend her to anyone in need of a sitter.”

“Madelynn was amazing with my kitties, and gave them loads of love and attention. She sent great pics & kept me updated the entire time! I felt so much more comfortable with her there. She was warm & friendly, wanting to introduce herself beforehand, and gave some information about herself, which made the whole process that much better!”

“Alicen has been amazing with our puppy. He is a very anxious and shy dog and she has been great with him and he immediately became comfortable around her. She is very communicative and always updating us. Couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Lora was the perfect rover sitter for our cat! We were leaving town for an extended period of time and needed someone to check in on our indoor/outdoor cat to let her in and out. Lora was extremely communicative and sent pictures and updates every time she checked on the cat. She also spent time giving our sweet cat lots of love and pets since she was by herself. Will definitely book again!”

About: I have experience with house sitting for dogs, cared for puppies since a young age, and assisted with basic training. I am patient, attentive and focused on safe, enjoyable walks. I am currently an architecture student, with a consistent week schedule. Which allows me to offer reliable dog walking times. I’m available for walks Tuesday and Thursday mornings, as well as weekday evenings after 5 pm. I also have availability throughout the day on Tuesday and Thursday before 1pm and after my class (3:30pm onward) I currently work as a server in Roger’s on Saturday evenings, but would like to move my focus to dog walking and pet care during the week days. I’m more then happy to work with you and your dogs routine while providing dependable, consistent care. I live in a safe and pet friendly townhome with plenty of grassy space behind my home and several parks nearby for walks and exercise. While I don’t currently have pets of my own due to being a full time student, I have cared for friends and family members pets in my home many times, including longer stays. I focus on creating a calm, safe environment where pets feel comfortable, loved, and enjoy regular walks and outdoor time.
“Jenny was amazing!! She sent so many pictures of my cat playing and snuggling which is exactly what I wanted my cat to get while I was gone. I came back to a happy and healthy Moose, and lots of quality pictures that I’ve saved. I would recommend Jenny to anyone!!”

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Greenland stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Greenland. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
