“We had a wonderful experience! Cocoa was so well cared for, and it was clear he felt happy, comfortable, and loved. Their whole family, including the kids, was involved in caring for him, which made for such a warm and welcoming environment. We really appreciated the updates and the attention they gave him. We’d absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!”

“Alex and her family were amazing with our Pup. She watched him for 1 week. He received lots of attention and love! He returned happy. She made us feel comfortable leaving our pup! We will definitely use her again! Thank you!”

“Kumud provided a wonderfully safe environment for our dog Harper, as always. We love getting all the photos and updates during the stay. Harper has stayed there so many times, she excitedly jumps out of the car when first arriving to play with the other dogs and get attention from Kumud's family. We couldn't recommend Kumud more!”

“Tanvi took good care our Kylo, she kept us constantly informed with pictures & videos. Will definitely recommend her to anyone looking for anyone looking for a sitter for their furry friends.”

“Shaun was so great with Scout! Sent helpful updates and Scout seemed so happy when I picked her up after four nights away. Would definitely recommend and I know Scout can’t wait to go back.”

“I recently had to leave my dog, Ash, with Ilene for a week, and I can’t express how grateful I am for her help, especially on such short notice. During Ash’s stay, I was going through a lot, including a move and a funeral, and having Ilene care for Ash truly took a huge weight off my shoulders. Ash can be a bit of a handful due to her strength, but Ilene was patient and worked with me to find a solution. By the end of the stay, Ash was so happy and well cared for—I could tell right away when I picked her up! The adorable pictures Ilene sent of Ash were such a comforting touch and really brightened my days. I’m beyond appreciative of Ilene’s kindness and care, and I would absolutely trust her with Ash again.”

“Buddy had a great time. And we are glad to have found Vishnumansa to leave my pet (Buddy) with. Would definitely recommend Vishnumanasa to other per owners...great experience!”

“Our dog Monster had a fantastic stay with Michelle. We felt very comfortable leaving him with her family for 9 days while we were away. She provided multiple updates throughout our trip, and it was easy to tell Monster was having a great time. Highly recommend!”
“Recently, Kevin and Natalie took care of our dog Buddy for 2 nights. We were relieved as we knew from the beginning that our " Buddy" is in good hands. They were very patient, pleasant and reliable. Communication was great! We couldn't be happier. Thank you Kevin and Natalie!”

“Stan and Barbara took such great care of our dog for the week. They shared daily updates and pictures which we really enjoyed. We will definitely contact them again when we need a dog sitter. Happy to have found them using Rover!”

“Fantastic Dog Sitting Experience! I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Ahmad! Ahmad was incredibly responsive, keeping me updated throughout my dog Leo's week-long stay. I truly appreciated the regular pictures and updates, which gave me peace of mind knowing Leo was happy and well cared for. It was clear that Leo was in great hands, and I’m so grateful for the love and attention they provided. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter! 🐶✨ Thank you, Ahmad!”

“Super accommodating for my dog’s first time ever boarding. Communication was smooth and daily. My dog had a lot of fun with a couple other dogs and came back calm and healthy.”

“Sayak was great with Silver. He provided a relaxed environment and sent pictures of my dog comfortably sleeping on his couch. Typically Silver is anxious whenever I leave him but he slept away the afternoon.”

“Lisa is amazing! She did a great job keeping us updated with pics & videos. Our dog has never looked this happy when we’ve gone away. She kept her active with walks & playtime with her pup. Highly recommend!”

“Our Izzy is a bit of a problemed child. But after this overnight sleepover, it was clear that she felt very comfortable with Chris. He made the entire process very easy and we are very happy that we found a sitter that we can trust. A+++”

“Winston had another wonderful stay with Marlene for 5 overnights. Marlene's communication is excellent and we are so thankful to how attentive she is to our Winston while he is in her care. Marlene provides daily updates and pictures of Winston and it means the world to us!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Far Hills
Sayek is wonderful with training and long-term pet care! We left Azula with him for about 20 days while we were traveling abroad, and she adjusted extremely well. There was no trauma or difficulty readjusting after we returned. It was clear that Azula felt right at home during her stay with Sayek. We were very happy with the care, attention, and affection she received, and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.

Lydia was overall fine. However, I felt that she was a little bit annoyed at times that she needed to take the puppy out for walks to pee and poop. We did a meet and greet ahead of time and gave a detailed schedule for her feeds and walks (which it seemed like she didn’t get a chance to review). I found myself wondering if she was actually affectionate with the dog.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
