“Julissa was awesome! She truly treated my dog like he was her own. She kept in contact with me daily with updates and pictures and videos, which I very much appreciated. She spent time with my dog, taking him for a walks, to play at the dog park, and out on adventures, which was very good for him and helped with socializing him. I recommend if you’re looking for a dog sitter or walker! I look forward to using her in the near future.”

“Karina and her family were absolutely amazing with my baby pup Max. They sent lots of pictures and kept us updated on how he was doing while we were gone. I would definitely use them again. Latoyya”

“Max stayed with Ji over the weekend of August 14 and warmed up to her very quickly. She kept me updated throughout our time out of town, which gave me great peace of mind. Ji was also very attentive to Max’s stomach issues and made sure he was well cared for and comfortable. We really appreciated the care and attention she gave him!”

“Charlene was absolutely amazing! Her home and backyard is a perfect set up to host pets. Charlene loved and cared for my girls as though they were her own. Will definitely be using her again soon!”

“Extremely happy with Sayak. We had left our dog away for 2 weeks for the first time and worried about how he would react but Sayak took very good care of him. He felt at home at Sayak's house. Sayak used to send daily photos and videos. He replied to my messages almost instantly. I will avail his services again most certainly in the future.”

“Benji had an amazing time at Nikki & Ricardo’s place. They took utmost care of Benji so much so that he didnt want to come back home :) They are very organized & care a lot for the dog. Received pictures & videos of Benji at regular intervals. I would highly recommend Nikki & Ricardo to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Anny was wonderful with our dog Simba! She was kind, polite, and professional from start to finish. We especially appreciated the frequent updates and photos she sent while we were away — it gave us total peace of mind. Simba came home happy and healthy, which says it all. About: I've been around dogs my entire life and have experience caring for a variety of breeds and sizes, from two Shih Tzus at the same time to a 90-pound Boxer, and now my lovable English Bulldog. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and care for their pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I'm comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and routines, and I understand the importance of providing pets with patience, attention, exercise, and lots of affection while their owners are away. I work from home Monday through Friday, which allows me to provide consistent attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. My schedule is flexible, and I'm available for early morning and evening walks, daytime boarding for pets with light activity needs, and boarding on weekends. I'm also available for weekday care and boarding after 5 PM. Because I'm home most of the day, pets can enjoy regular potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of affection in a calm, comfortable environment. Pets in my care are treated like family. I have a securely fenced yard for safe outdoor time and a friendly English Bulldog who gets along well with other pets. I typically accept dogs under 50 lbs but am happy to care for other pets as well. I have experience with puppies, senior pets, and pets with special needs, including administering medications when needed. For boarding, pets are rarely left alone for more than an hour, and I do my best to maintain their normal routines so they feel comfortable, safe, and stress-free while you're away.
“Dilan was the best dog sitter I have ever hired. My dog was well taken care of. She exercised her twice a day and sent me videos and pictures while I was away. My dog appeared to be very happy…which made me very happy. I couldn’t be more pleased with the level of care Dilan provided for my baby! Thank you!”

“Bonnie was a wonderful puppy boarding sitter for my 8 month old puppy. She made sure his schedule for food and walks was followed, and he had a great time playing in their yard and interacting with the dogs in her home! There was also regular photo and video updates every day, and he came back healthy and happy. Thank you for the great care!”

“I feel bad for myself when my dogs have a good time without me. - but THEY LOVE GOING TO DEB’S! An overnight and no problems, no starving themselves, no crying all night. Just a regular day only without me. How lucky am I to have access to this help for my furr babies (and for my soul)!”

“CB loved his stay with Jessica. We got regular updates with pictures and videos. This was the first time in 4 years we took a vacation without CB all because we felt safe and good about leaving him with Jessica.”

“Her space is incredible, plenty of room for our dog to run around. Initially our dog Coco was a little nervous (she's a velcro dog at home), but Tanvi checked in with us each day and worked to help Coco come out of her shell. After a couple days she did and had an absolute blast. We will definitely be working with Tanvi again, assuming she is available!”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! She stayed at their home for a full week, and it truly felt like a home away from home. It was clear from the moment I picked her up that she had been well taken care of, loved, and treated like part of the family. I really appreciated the attention, affection, and responsibility shown throughout her stay. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. I love getting the daily pictures and videos updates. She had a great time. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.”

I wish I could give Jenny a 10 Star Rating. She and her family are very loving to the pups and treat them like part of the family. She has a spacious yard for them to play in. It was a home away from home for Lucca. We received pictures and updates at least twice a day and they all showed how happy Lucca was. I highly recommend Jenny as a caregiver.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
