“Lupe was very attentive, kind and you can automatically tell he loves dogs. He cared for our golden retriever like she was his own. For the weekend he was very good at communicating how our Penny was doing, and we got several videos and pictures throughout the day. So grateful for Lupe and it gave us a peace of mind knowing Penny is in good hands! He also has an amazing backyard where Penny really enjoyed playing fetch with Lupe! Was scared Penny never wanted to come home haha! I highly recommend Lupe to anyone and everyone who wants someone with a good heart to care for their dogs!”

“Lisa was great! Ellie stayed with her for two nights and is now home and sleepy from playing so much with Lisa’s dogs. She sent pictures and kept us updated. And her home was super dog-friendly. Thanks so much, Lisa!”

“We had a wonderful experience! Cocoa was so well cared for, and it was clear he felt happy, comfortable, and loved. Their whole family, including the kids, was involved in caring for him, which made for such a warm and welcoming environment. We really appreciated the updates and the attention they gave him. We’d absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!”

“I was so happy i fpund Bonnie and her husbad , they really took care of my 2 dogs. They treat them as their own. They give them extra care and attention. I highly recommend Bonnie. Nothing to worry if you leave them at their care. Will surely leave my babies again .”

“Gianna was so wonderful with our dog! She was incredibly responsive and gave us daily updates and pictures, and it was so clear that our dog felt right at home with her. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!”

“Megan and Nick created the most comfortable home away from home for Brady. He came home so happy and energetic. We got regular updates and pictures which was comforting to know he was doing well throughout our trip. We would for sure recommend them and book them to watch Brady again.”

“Awesome! Jean, is excellent! We left our 7-year-old Labradoodle for the first time with Jean for an extended weekend. She treated Simba as if he was her own dog and sent us pics of their wonderful time together multiple times a day. Simba loved it and felt at home. We are so glad we found Jean as she will be our go-to person moving forward.”

“Lisa is amazing! She did a great job keeping us updated with pics & videos. Our dog has never looked this happy when we’ve gone away. She kept her active with walks & playtime with her pup. Highly recommend!”

“Linus stayed with Sue and her family for 12 days over the holidays & we couldn't have been happier with her care. She texted regularly and sent photos and it was clear that Linus was getting all the love and attention he would get from us. We're thrilled with Sue & will definitely use her again.”

“Very happy with Foxy first visit. Just as anyone, I was concerned leaving my dog in a new home, specially mine that is a bit scared of things and people. Charlene was very helpful explaining how things were going, how the adaptation was evolving, sending pictures and notes. Overall, extremely happy and I will leave my dog with her for another 2 weeks, which should speak by itself.”

“Lakshmi took care of my Ruby for a couple of weeks and she did such an amazing job caring for her. She sent me photos and videos everyday and made sure Ruby was getting all the attention she needed to feel comfortable with her and her family. I would 100% book with Lakshimi again. Thanks you Lakshimi for treating Ruby like she was part of your family.”

“Jen was super flexible on drop-off & pick up times & extended schedule. She was proactive in sending photos of my dog from walks & generous in using extra dog booties on my dogs paws to keep him cleaner. Last minute I had some probiotics & med to give my dog & she was ok with that too! I would definitely be confortable leaving my fur baby with Jen & highly recommend her.”

About: I've been around dogs my entire life and have experience caring for a variety of breeds and sizes, from two Shih Tzus at the same time to a 90-pound Boxer, and now my lovable English Bulldog. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and care for their pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I'm comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and routines, and I understand the importance of providing pets with patience, attention, exercise, and lots of affection while their owners are away. I work from home Monday through Friday, which allows me to provide consistent attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. My schedule is flexible, and I'm available for early morning and evening walks, daytime boarding for pets with light activity needs, and boarding on weekends. I'm also available for weekday care and boarding after 5 PM. Because I'm home most of the day, pets can enjoy regular potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of affection in a calm, comfortable environment. Pets in my care are treated like family. I have a securely fenced yard for safe outdoor time and a friendly English Bulldog who gets along well with other pets. I typically accept dogs under 50 lbs but am happy to care for other pets as well. I have experience with puppies, senior pets, and pets with special needs, including administering medications when needed. For boarding, pets are rarely left alone for more than an hour, and I do my best to maintain their normal routines so they feel comfortable, safe, and stress-free while you're away.
“I had such a wonderful first-time dog-sitting experience thanks to Starry and Gio. They are absolutely awesome and took amazing care of Billion. It's like a winter camp for him. I got tons of cute photos and message updates, which kept me totally worry-free the whole time. I would highly recommend them and will definitely book again!”

“Laci was an outstanding sitter! Our dog got plenty of exercise and loved the company of another canine. She was prompt in all her responses and very accommodating. The photos she sent are suitable for framing! We will definitely be booking with her in the future!”

“Luis and his wife were wonderful with our dog Petunia! We got daily photo updates and she was so happy to go with him the day I dropped her off. It seemed like she had a great time with them and we'll definitely be working with Luis for future care needs.”

“Amarilis was easy to connect with, punctual and a great help with my dog. I booked a last minute request and she was able to accommodate me by taking care of my dog while I was out of town. She followed his routine and it allowed for the stay to go smoothly. I recommend using Amarilis and I will be booking with her more often.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stirling
Vanessa aand Jeremy were wonderful hosts to Bennie and Dolly. They sent me pics every day to let me know how "the kids" were doing. I was confident that the kitties were well taken care of. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a safe, loving place for their pets to stay any time. Thanks

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jenny! She is incredibly nurturing, kind, and genuinely sweet. From the moment I dropped my dog off, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring hands. She treated him like her own and made sure he was comfortable, happy, and well cared for the entire time. What truly meant the most was her kindness and flexibility when my daughter had unexpected car trouble and couldn’t pick him up. Without hesitation, she went above and beyond and personally drove my dog back to my house. That level of thoughtfulness and compassion is rare. If you are looking for someone trustworthy, loving, and reliable to care for your pet, I highly recommend her. Your fur baby will be safe, loved, and spoiled with attention!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
