“Sue was very kind and interested in learning about my dog to make the transition of care very easy. I got daily updates with photos of my pup where she seemed happy and well cared for! Will definitely leave my dog with her again- thank you Sue!”

“Michele is very responsive and also excellent with keeping us updated on how our 2 furry ones were doing. So glad we found her and our furry ones grew fond of her. We definitely recommend her to others and we will always contact her for our future stays.”

“We recently had the pleasure of having Nicolas care for our beloved dog, Mazzie, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, it was clear that our pup was in great hands. Mazzie went on long walks, had incredible play time with their dog Sinatra, and we received tons of wonderful pictures, making our time away. It was evident that they were genuinely passionate about animals, and Mazzie was instantly comfortable, which gave us such peace of mind. Overall, we couldn’t recommend this pet sitter highly enough. They treated Mazzie as if she were their own, and we will definitely be using them again in the future. If you’re looking for reliable, compassionate, and attentive care for your furry family member, look no further!”

“We had left our golden retriever Bentley with Bhavani very recently and he had an amazing time with her , when your dog comes back happy, contended you know that they had a great time ! Bhavani and her family are very warm and took very good care of Bentley. Bhavani was very meticulous to gather all the instructions , she was very prompt in sending updates and videos. She was on point will all the communication. We felt very confident leaving Bentley with her. If you are looking for a home away from Home for your fur baby, don’t look any further . Bentley is definitely looking forward for his next stay there and so are we !”

“Gabriela did an amazing job taking care of our Diesel for 4 days while we were on vacation. She was caring, responsible, and made sure Diesel was happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. She kept us updated, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Diesel and treated him like her own. We came back to a happy and well-cared-for dog! “This was a 2 weeks stay, as we were flying abroad. Charlene always gave us updates, sent pictures, said if she ate or not, our dog was clearly taken care of. Picking her up,I was afraid she would not want to come back to our home, as Foxy (our dog) ) was clearly happy and enjoyed the stay. Truly appreciate the dedication”

“Bobbi is the greatest person you will ever meet. I have lost count of how many times I have booked her. Every time it is an amazing experience. I’m sure my cat, Sherri, is looking forward to seeing her again when I go away for the 4th of July holiday weekend that’s coming up. A+! 5 Stars!”

“Alice and her family were awesome with our beagle, Buster! He had a great time and clearly enjoyed spending the long weekend. We will definitely reach out again in the future when we need a rover for Buster!”

“First time leaving our boy Baxter with Trista. We were going away for a week and needed to know he was taken care of. Trista sent us a daily picture of Bax while he was outside in her large fenced in yard. Could have used a little more communication, but, for first time stay, we were pleased. Baxter, who doesn’t stay behind too often, was content when we picked him up and we could tell he enjoyed his stay. Would have Trista watch Bax again. Thank you”

“Pia’s stay with Charles was great. He is an awesome person who truly loves the pets he cares for. He shared pictures time to time keeping us informed of Pia’s well being. I am grateful to have met Charles and highly recommend him. We are definitely returning next time Pia needs a break from us 😊”

“Amanda was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond in every way. Her communication was excellent from start to finish, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. It was immediately obvious that she truly loves dogs and genuinely enjoys spending time with them — this is not just a job for her, but something she clearly does with care and heart. Norman was in great hands, and we felt completely comfortable knowing Amanda was looking after him. She was thoughtful, responsible, warm, and attentive, and we came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup. We would highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their dog.”

About: We are a loving and lively household where we will snuggle and play fetch with your pup, take them to the dog park, and keep them happy and occupied. My husband and I have a very active goldendoodle, Bell, who is 9 years old. Neither of us remember a time when there wasn't a dog in the house growing up! We know that we are taking on no small task when we agree to be responsible for your furry friend. We will follow your instructions to a T and we realize that every doggo is their own unique individual with their own unique needs. We are pros when it comes to high-energy dogs with a mind of their own! I am a full-time parent of three and we have a dog of our own whom we are home with all day. Staying active with our doodle is an integral part of our daily routine and we would love to have even more walks, games of fetch, and tricks + treats to look forward to! We LOVE to love on your pet! In our home you can expect a minimum of two 20-minute walks a day, plus more upon request and some leash time in our back yard if they like to hang out and observe the world. We are big proponents of fetch and chase.
“This was the first time Ruby spent the day and night away from home since we adopted her at 6 months. She is now 11 months old. Aleja was wonderful. She sent pictures and brief statements reassuring me as to how Ruby was doing. I love her (Aleja's ) calm attitude and how she talked to and managed Ruby . I am planning to book her again next month for a longer visit.”

“It was great experience working with Michale and Whitney. This was our first time leaving our puppy with someone else and they took great care of her. It was good knowing she was in family setting with access to fenced backyard. When we went to pick her up- we could see she was very happy playing with other dogs and Mikes kids. An overall thumbs up !”

About: I have had cats since I was a kid, walked my friends’ dogs in the neighborhood and just love being outside in their company walking and playing. I am currently working from home and have plenty of time during the day to walk your pet friend. I love to be outside in any weather and will take nice long walks and play. My family member has developed bad allergies so I cannot have my own pets. I love dogs and cats a lot and will enjoy their company.
“Sayak is so wonderful. Sam was happy while away from home her first time. Pictures every day. She seems to have learned some manners while she was away. Will definitely be using Sayak again. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my baby girl.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Chester
Julia was amazing. Blu loved her from the start. Julia took care of him the way we do. I was nervous as although Blu is a wonderful dog he is a rescue that was mistreated prior to us fostering him and then adopting him. I would trust Julia to take care of him anytime. I hope that she feels the same.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
