“Michele was great with Tito! She gave plenty of updates and photos. It was our first time using Rover in a long time, and Michele made it easy. 10/10 would definitely recommend her for any dog sitting needs!”

“We recently had the pleasure of having Nicolas care for our beloved dog, Mazzie, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, it was clear that our pup was in great hands. Mazzie went on long walks, had incredible play time with their dog Sinatra, and we received tons of wonderful pictures, making our time away. It was evident that they were genuinely passionate about animals, and Mazzie was instantly comfortable, which gave us such peace of mind. Overall, we couldn’t recommend this pet sitter highly enough. They treated Mazzie as if she were their own, and we will definitely be using them again in the future. If you’re looking for reliable, compassionate, and attentive care for your furry family member, look no further!”

“We left our pup with Joe, Joanne, and family for a week. They provided us with frequent updates/pictures and gave Violet lots of love and snuggles. We would 100% use them again in the future.”

“Samantha was wonderful with Nellie! She sent updates throughout the day, gave my dog her meds and nellie settled right in! She was also very flexible with scheduling, due to an unexpected winter storm. Will 100% use Sam again to watch Nellie!”

“Lisa is amazing! She did a great job keeping us updated with pics & videos. Our dog has never looked this happy when we’ve gone away. She kept her active with walks & playtime with her pup. Highly recommend!”

“This was the first time I have used overnight pet care for my 1 1/2 year old golden, Josie. The overall experience for both Josie and myself was excellent. David was quick to respond to any questions and sent me pictures and updated several times throughout the day. I will definitely be using David again and would highly recommend him to others.”

“Kiara was absolutely great. Very professional and kind we felt Cartman was in the best of hands. She kept us informed and sent plenty of photos throughout his stay. Highly recommend! Phil”

“Another great stay with Marisol! Our pup loves her and her family. Love the picture updates too that Marisol sends. Makes me smile each time seeing the great care and love Mosley is getting while we are away.”

“Brutus is my 7 year old Pit Terrier rescue . To fully encapsulate the experience he had staying with Jaclyn, I will need to describe Brutus a bit more. Brutus is very people centric. He not only requires constant attention and affection, he almost demands it. He is extremely kind and loving and often misunderstood by his appearance. He can be extremely stubborn, as is common with pits. I brought Brutus to Jaclyn for an introduction... It went very well. I then decided to leave Brutus for a few days as I traveled. It is also important to know that Brutus just came out of ear surgery, so at that time he required some medical attention, as well as extra care. The surgery and the medication, and the care weren't a problem for Jaclyn. Brutus and his stubbornness, was not a problem for Jaclyn . Brutus being afraid of thunderstorms, and his need for constant affection... also not a problem for Jaclyn . Jaclyn did an exceptional job of taking care of Brutus, showing him love and affection, and it showed when I picked him up. I received frequent updates and photos on his condition and care. Jaclyn was also extremely flexible with my change in travel, and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with her and her husband. After trying many other options for Brutus ... I can definitively say I have found Brutus his permanent caregiver. My family and I are extremely appreciative for the love, care, and attention Jaclyn and her husband have given to Brutus. Thank you so much and we will see you soon!”

“Shaun is wonderful with our 5 year old golden. He takes such good care of her, lots of walks, attention, and play, as well as sends us frequent update and photos! Thank you!”

“Sue is a great sitter who was very accommodating and made our pup feel right at home. She followed our instructions and put our minds at ease and provided plenty of photos and updates on how our pup was doing. Will definitely ask her to watch our dog again in the future!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ledgewood
Justin was an absolute great sitter. My pups were so happy with him. My Yorkie totally loved him as he would often nap on his lap (photos where taken). Justin fed them well, took them in happy walks, and had one on one time with them. As mentioned before he would send pictures of them, whether it was with a silly hat or napping, it helped us be less worried for our pups. He is really sweet and I would definitely recommend his services.

Jaylene is a wonderful and kind petsitter! She comes over to check on our two cats and has created a bond with both of them, despite them being shy sometimes. We have a Great Pyrenees mix that she boards in her home and we can tell he has a great time! Jaylene is always flexible, communicative, and super helpful. Thanks again, Jaylene!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
