About: My family and I have been taking care of dogs on and off for 15 years. Our dog has had two litters totaling 23 (Creampuff Labradoodle is the breeder) which we have hosted in our home as they grew up. They now live with their forever homes. We love nature, being outdoors, and all things animal related! We host play dates at our home often and our pup enjoys the company. Things to note: we are a busy household and have three children. We are in and out throughout the day but never for long periods of time when watching pups. Visiting dogs must be comfortable around my dog and children. I will always do a meet and greet before taking a dog in. Must know basic training skills and be clean upon arrival, and be house trained. Things to bring for day care/boarding: Bed, water and food bowls, crate. If a crate is not an option then we can use our gated corral. They are able to have free rein over house, I am fine with that but as a safety precaution or for use when we leave I prefer to have an option to contain the pups. I have toys, towels, and treats. If any signs of aggression are shown or excessive behaviors I will ask if I can gently train your dog with a sound device. I have used this on my own dog and it works great as a non invasive tool if unpredictable circumstances arise. Our back yard is fenced and we take extra care at our front door and can block the foyer with an extra gate for safety. I own a photography business so I make my own schedule. If I am away from the house, it is not for long at all and I do all my editing from my home office. I am flexible and accommodating to various needs. I have a fully fenced back yard. We have a gate for leaving uncreated dogs in if we run out for a bit. It can block off the foyer area or be set up by the deck door for views of the yard.

We are SO happy with Jennifer’s diligent, patient, & loving care of our little girl — we feel we hit the jackpot finding her! After the sudden passing of our two beloved dogs last year, we were anxious & apprehensive about leaving our recently adopted (also anxious) dog for the first time on a trip. Jennifer alleviated all anxieties, was wonderful about checking in and asking questions, respectful of our home, went above and beyond. Plus our hard-to-crack little egg absolutely loves her! Many many thanks to Jennifer; we feel confident leaving our little girl in the safety of her care.

About: I have been a veterinary technician for the last 19 years. I have spent the majority of that time working at a small animal practice, but also worked at an emergency and specialty practice for 4 years during that time as well. During my career, I have dealt with numerous c-sections, geriatric, diabetic, and renal patients. Meaning that, injections, SQ fluid, oral meds, etc, are not a problem.. I have also done pet sitting on the side for many years during this time as well. I have always had a love for animals. I currently own a 9 year old mixed breed dog, as well as a cat, and chinchilla. I have had many pocket pets over the years as well. I currently work full time, overnights only, on the front end of the week. I plan accordingly, to make sure the pets needs are met before and after work shift, and spoil them extra on the days I’m off. I adjust to whatever needs the pet requires, and make our schedules work in sync so that there are no issues with bathroom breaks, or feeding/medications.

About: I have had cats for 10 years, walked my friends dogs and babysat them, cared for birds and fishes, I love animals of all kinds! I currently work an afternoon to evening job so I have time in the mornings and early afternoons! I also enjoy exercise so its a good way to get walks in for me! I currently do not offer services in my own home, but animals are family members to me. That means dignity should be taken account for, how they are treated, trust and safety is a huge compliment to me, so I find it very important that they feel loved and safe.

MaKenna took excellent care of our furry family while we were out of the country. She was great at communicating and providing photos. She was thorough with providing our Daisy her meds and getting to know Daisy, even though she's a bit shy. And Winnie and MaKenna seemed to click right away. It was clear by the photos that both animals had a great time!

Katie was the absolute best. She went above and beyond for her stay with my high energy pup, taking him on three 2+ mile walks over the course of her stay. She was extremely thorough and detail-oriented, executing each request and keeping our dog on schedule as much as possible. Sending a bunch of pictures and detailed recaps for each visit/walk. We would absolutely love to have Katie watch our dog again!

My husband and I recently had a 5 day trip planned and were struggling to find care for our 6 year old dog and our young puppy ! I was super anxious about leaving them for the first time but after meeting with Jessica and Guillermo I immediately felt at ease. Jessica was super communicative and sent lots of pictures throughout the day of our pups! I never had to guess what they were doing and both the pups had a blast! Jessica was also very respectful of our home, we came home to everything clean and put together just how it was before we left. Our puppy is a huge chewer and she ended up chewing a little bit of our carpet, Jessica immediately informed and showed me, and it was wonderful to have someone so transparent and honest about anything they happened while we were gone. We will absolutely be using them again for our next trip! (As long as they’ll have us) haha.

About: I’ve had dogs since I can remember. When I was 11 I had my own dog that I took care of and eventually once I was able to drive I payed and did everything for her (she was my age). I’ve taken care of family members dogs as well. I’m currently working at a doggy boarding and daycare facility. My job is to make sure the dogs are safe, happy and healthy. We take them out to the yard and bring them in for playtime. We learn dog body language and how to deal with their body language. I currently do not have my own dog but I do work at a boarding daycare facility. If you dog needs to be crated I can easily get them in there. The facility has very high fences for when the dogs go outside. Some dogs we do have to keep on a leash outside so they do not run away. I also play with the dogs and give them lots of love. The same can be done in a clients home as well. I will do whatever is needed for the dog I am watching.

Christine was beyond amazing!!! We attended our son's wedding weekend and did not want to leave our 14 year old dog alone as she gets anxious. Christine readily accommodated our split shifts needs and was very much liked by all of our family staying at the hotel. The true testament to her goodness and her love of pets is when she came to our hotel our dog got so excited, wagged her tail non- stop and jumped with excitement after meeting with her for the third time. Our dog treated Christine like she was family and that is the type of person she is. Christine made us very comfortable and our dog even more. I will highly recommend and will ask Christine again to stqy with our dog. Christine is AWESOME!!!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Ledgewood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Ledgewood on Rover is $62.06 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 5,413 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ledgewood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ledgewood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ledgewood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ledgewood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ledgewood. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
