“Krista did a great job. I will def use her again. She was on time and made a real effort to get my very timid kitties to come out of hiding, and succeeded with one!!!”

“We LOVE Mallory! She’s super responsive and always sends good pics of my dog and clearly takes very good care of her. From a helicopter dog mom she’s one of the only people I would trust!”

“Emma did drop in visits with my very timid rabbit and was awesome with her. She was very reliable, thoughtful and patient, ensuring my rabbit was healthy and well cared for, reporting on each visit and sending photos. I will definitely request Emma again and highly recommend her.”

“Fantastic pet sitter. Highly recommend for any pet owner in need. Deliberate with care and is able was able to assist with medication as needed for my dog Fenrir. Will request services again.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. From small dogs to big ones, puppies to senior dogs, I love them all. Spending good quality time with animals is something I value greatly! I’m currently a graduate student at UAF with virtual classes once a week and working part time, so I have plenty of time available to spend with fur babies. I am very patient with dogs and cats as I am a new human to them, which comes with a lot of room for trust. I will always step outside with them and keep them company and to watch them.
“Emma is always flexible, kind, and thoughtful when she comes to take care of my two cats. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone. She was in communication with me for any issues and I can tell she really cares about animals!”

About: With extensive experience caring for both dogs and cats, I specialize in providing structured, stress-free care tailored to each animal's unique needs. What sets me apart: Puppy Care: I have the patience and consistency required to help reinforce potty training, crate routines, and basic obedience for young, high-energy pups. Senior Care: I am deeply compassionate and detail-oriented, making me highly capable of managing strict feeding schedules, administering medications, and providing the gentle, slow-paced care older pets need. Dependability: I am punctual, highly communicative, and strictly follow all care instructions provided by owners to ensure a seamless transition for your pets. Pet care fits seamlessly into my week. I prioritize the pets I watch by adapting my daily schedule to match their established home routines. Whether you need regular weekday drop-ins, weekend care, or extended visits, I dedicate ample time each day to ensuring feeding stations are clean, medications are administered on time, and your cats get plenty of attention and playtime. If your pet stays in my home, they will be entering a thoroughly pet-proofed, secure, and clean environment. I am highly safety-conscious, meaning all potentially hazardous materials are securely stored, and exterior doors and windows are strictly monitored to prevent any escapes. I provide plenty of safe, quiet spaces for pets to retreat and relax if they feel overwhelmed. I closely supervise all activities and make sure your pet has constant access to fresh water, clean litter boxes, and engaging toys in a totally hazard-free zone.
“Jodi did an exceptional job petsitting for us while we were away for 5 days. She took on a somewhat challenging schedule with three very different pets with different needs. She was timely, reliable, caring, engaging and communicated well throughout the process.”

“Hope is a very nice and responsible sitter. My dogs love her. One of my dog Vishaka is stranger unfriended. But she gradually accepted and love her. She begged her to pet the last few sitting days. Hope messaged me and sent pictures everyday during the sitting. Thanks to Hope, my family were able to enjoy the vacation and no worries of the dogs.”

About: I am very open and flexible schedule-wise, I don't mind getting up early if needed. I have experience with my own shitzu-poodle (Mocha), and my black cat (Gravy), as well as my neighbors various cats and dogs. I am a college student, so my only responsibility is to attend my classes. I have a lot of large gaps between/before classes where I can go let pets out for potty breaks, take them on a walk, give them food, etc,. I am very flexible. I have time to do multiple visits a day. I'm able to visit before classes, in between classes, and after. Any excuse to get out of my dorm is a good one 😅 I am more than willing to prepare food for pets, administer medications, or just spend some time with the pets if desired. Overall, I want to maintain a respectful and trusting relationship with clients.

About: I have lived with dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, and rodents my entire life, and currently have two dogs, two cats, and a leopard gecko. I love hanging out with animals and look forward to meeting your pups and kitties! I have helped take care of various pets for friends and others, including but not limited to, a pair of elderly dachshunds that had various medical needs, a lovely cat who loves to hand out, and I took home the class ferret nearly every weekend during my senior year. I am very familiar with administering medicine orally to both cats and dogs, and I have provided shots in the past. I personally had to care for my own dog that needed major surgery, and am familiar with animal's warnings and limits. I currently work part-time on an every other week schedule, but can take care of animals between shifts as needed. My husband and I split the care for our pets and make sure all of them get the proper playtime and food they individually need. I follow all instructions provided by the owner and always meet new animals before the owner leaves so that they are familiar with me. I provide food, play with the pets for a bit, and any other requests while in the home.
“My first time trying Rover, and Veronica was great! Made it easy to schedule, was right on time, and, judging from the wiggly photos, my puppy loved her. A huge relief, to have someone able to take care of my dog while I was out of town, on fairly short notice. Thank you!!”

About: I’ve taken care of our family dog ever since I was 8 years old and we had her for over 12 years. I love taking care of animals and spending time with them. I am currently in Fairbanks and I work around 4 days a week and just do some work on my computer when I am not working! Willing to do overnight stays as well. I offer a clean and welcoming home for pets and I would make sure to take care of the pets the same way I would with our own.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
