“Kalista is amazing! My very ‘anti-people’ babies love her and she gives them so much love and attention that they aren’t even mad at me when I come home! Will definitely be using her services on a regular!”

“Hope is a very nice and responsible sitter. My dogs love her. One of my dog Vishaka is stranger unfriended. But she gradually accepted and love her. She begged her to pet the last few sitting days. Hope messaged me and sent pictures everyday during the sitting. Thanks to Hope, my family were able to enjoy the vacation and no worries of the dogs.”

“Haileigh is an amazing sitter. She has watched our dog a few times over the winter and always takes great care of him. Very responsive and always send pictures after each visit. I highly recommend Haileigh to anyone needing a sitter!”

About: Having grown up with pets my entire life, I have truly experienced "the good, the bad, and the ugly" of pet ownership! I understand firsthand the love, chaotic moments, and the care it takes to keep animals happy and healthy. Currently, I have my own two dogs and a Holland Lop rabbit, all of whom I completely groom myself—so I am no stranger to managing shedding coats, nail trims, and animal maintenance! Beyond my personal experience, I recently relocated from Virginia to Fairbanks after earning my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Radford University. This medical background means I have advanced training in anatomy, physical handling, positioning, and safety, which sets me apart in a few major ways: * Senior & Special Needs Care: I understand mobility limitations, joint protection, and fragile handling. If your senior pet needs help getting up, navigating stairs, or requires complex medication schedules, I can manage it with professional clinical precision. * Calm & Attentive Observation: I am trained to notice subtle changes in physical behavior, breathing patterns, or discomfort, ensuring your pet is under watchful eyes. * Patience and Behavior Management: My professional training also involves pediatric development and positive reinforcement, which translates to keeping young, energetic pets or anxious animals feeling safe, structured, and calm. I treat every animal in my care with the same high level of respect, safety, and love that I give my own fur babies. I can’t wait to meet your best friend! My schedule is very structured and accommodating for pet care! I am currently balancing onboarding physical therapy career alongside dedicated study blocks for my upcoming board exams. Because my primary focus right now is professional preparation, my weekly routine is as follows: Weekdays (Monday–Friday): I have a mid-day commitment for my clinical orientation and training blocks. I am always home first thing in the morning to handle breakfast, early walks, and morning potty breaks. I return in the early afternoon, meaning pets are only left alone for a 4-to-5 hour window. Afternoons & Evenings: Once I am back for the day, I am at home or at the client's house studying. Here I can also provide constant, quiet company and frequent potty breaks every couple of hours all afternoon, evening, and night. Weekends (Saturday & Sunday): My schedule is completely open! I am available for full-time companionship, custom routines, and frequent outdoor time. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine because it gives me a wonderful, welcome break from my study materials to stretch my legs, play, and go on walks! When providing House Sitting care in your home, I follow this safety protocol: Meet & Greet First: I'd like an initial Meet & Greet before any booking is locked in. This ensures your pet is entirely comfortable with me, and gives us a chance to walk through their exact feeding, potty, and other routines. Home Respect: I treat your home with the utmost care. I maintain your exact house rules (such as keeping pets off specific furniture, ensuring doors/gates are securely locked, and keeping a clean space), so you return to a house that is just as spotless as you left it. Proactive Safety & Leash Security: When out on walks in the neighborhood, pets will always remain securely leashed. I do not do unapproved dog park visits or random dog-on-dog greeting interactions with strangers, protecting your pet from unpredictable situations. Medication & Routine Management: Thanks to my professional medical background, I am exceptionally detail-oriented with complex instructions. Whether your pet requires precise oral medications, supplements, or specific handling due to structural joint protection and senior mobility issues, it will be administered exactly on time, every time. Communication: You will never have to wonder how your fur baby is doing. I provide consistent, daily photo and text updates so you can enjoy your travel with complete peace of mind.
About: I have lots of experience caring for animals - dogs and cats. I grew up caring for dogs and and cats. I currently live with one cat, but have lived with many cats throughout the years. At one time, I lived with four cats while attending university classes and had a blast learning all of their personalities and caring for them. These days, I often pet-sit for family members and friends when they are busy or traveling. Although I do not have any pets (while I am finishing my degree), I plan to adopt a dog when I graduate. Right now, I have an open schedule and am very flexible. I care for pets by adhering to their feeding schedules, walking schedules, etc. Right now, I live with one cat and I often feed him a couple times a day (when my roommate can't) and I take time out to play with him daily. I care for pets in my client's home by tending to their food schedules, medication schedules, and walking schedules. If I am cat-sitting, I also make certain to clean their litter boxes regularly. Safety comes first, so I always make certain to adhere to any details that are left by my clients and make certain to constantly check in on pets. I also believe that communication with my clients is essential in safety, trust, and environment.
About: I have taken care of my family and friends fur babies for two years both in my home and at their home. They entrusted me to feed and walk them while they were away. Additionally, there are discounts provided for two or more pets to be cared for and loved during your time away. Dog bathing is provided for an additional fee, if interested, in the comfort of your home so your pets are refreshed before you arrive home to them. My time at home has allowed me to love and care for my own animals, but to also provide a loving and nurturing environment for yours as well while in my care. Safety is number one in our home! Additionally, I have a fenced in yard and two dogs of my own to easily make your fur baby feel welcomed, loved, and cared during their time with us. Please understand that I do not stay in the home of others due to that I have animals of my own that need their mama home to take care of them and assist with their needs, but I am still available for house visits upon requests.
“My first time trying Rover, and Veronica was great! Made it easy to schedule, was right on time, and, judging from the wiggly photos, my puppy loved her. A huge relief, to have someone able to take care of my dog while I was out of town, on fairly short notice. Thank you!!”

About: I currently am a cat owner as I recently lost my Cane Corso to cancer. I have taken care of all kinds of pets, including sled dog teams in my home state of Alaska. I am well versed in special needs animals as well as medication administration. I love all animals, but have a particular soft spot for senior dogs. I truly believe that animals are family members and should be treated as such. I would love to hang out with your babies! As of now, I have open availability as I recently relocated back to Vegas. I am open to do just about anything and everything you need for your pet and for your own peace of mind. My animals are fed twice a day and exercised based on their needs. I am extremely active myself so high energy pets are not an issue for me. I love to be outside and always looking to have a buddy to hang out with me!
“We did drop-in services and Rhonda was amazing! I have a very high energy, needy dog and I am a very anxious dog owner, Rhonda was so communicative and always sent updates. We were so happy with her and would highly recommend.”

About: I adore dogs so much. I have helped raise 4 dogs from puppyhood and I haves cared for senior dogs as well. I have tackled potty training, basic commands, and a few neat tricks. Your dog will be treated like absolute royalty with me, my favorite thing is pampering my own beautiful pups. I have never met a dog I don’t like and I’ve always lived with dogs so I’m exceptionally comfortable around them. I currently work mostly from home and I’m a part time dance teacher in the fall and spring. I can make myself available almost any day besides Sunday. I have two dogs, one 10 months old and the other is 4. They get to go on walks, drives, adventures to the dog park, and more. I treat dogs like kids honestly. We gotta burn energy and then make them feel comfy and loved.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
