“Ashley was super helpful and did a little meet and greet before watching our two lab mixes with overnight care for the holiday weekend! They were in great hands, even with our one very shy dog. She followed their instructions super closely! She also sent updates right away and was responsive to any questions we had about how things were going. Will absolutely be using again!”

“Grace took care of the house and our girls. She was very responsible and gave us peace of mind knowing she was in our home. And our girls liked her! We would not hesitate to use her again and recommend her without reservation”

“Olivia is wonderful with our pets and takes great care of the house as well! She sends photos of all the fun she is having with our pups and they always look so incredibly happy! I’m so glad we found her!”

“We had a great experience with Emma! She took wonderful care of our two dogs and cat while we were away. Everyone seemed happy, relaxed, and well cared for when we got home. Communication was great, she kept us updated and sent plenty of pictures, which we really appreciated. We’d definitely book with her again”

“Jessica paid attention to details of Django’s care. She repeated them back to me which showed that she was eager to do things the way we asked and that she was experienced. I appreciated her communication, she sent messages and pictures and asked little questions that came up too. She was respectful of our space when we were away. She was kind and honest. I’ll happily book her again in the future if she’s available!”

About: I combine compassionate, hands-on care with experience tailored to dogs at every life stage. I’m skilled in puppy training basics including crate training, potty routines, and positive-reinforcement commands, so young pups stay consistent and confident while you’re away. I’m also experienced with senior dog care, providing gentle support, medication reminders, slow-paced walks, and extra comfort for older pups who need a little more patience and attention. I focus on keeping each dog’s routine familiar, stress-free, and full of affection. Above all, I treat every dog like family, making sure they feel safe, loved, and understood from the moment I arrive. I currently work part-time, which gives me lots of free time to spend with your pup and plenty of flexibility to match their routine. Because my schedule is so open, I can provide consistent walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship throughout the day. I’m also available for house-sitting during the week, making it easy to maintain your dog’s normal schedule in the comfort of their home. My flexibility allows me to adapt to puppies who need frequent attention, seniors who prefer a calm pace, or any dog who simply loves extra company. Your pet’s needs come first, and I make sure my routine fits seamlessly around theirs. At home, I keep a calm, structured environment centered around safety, routine, and plenty of affection. I have two dogs of my own, a 7-year-old Yorkie–Schnauzer mix named Coco and a 3-year-old Staffordshire Pitbull named Raptor who are both friendly, well-behaved, and fully crate-trained. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines closely aka feeding schedules, walk times, crate routines, and any house rules you prefer. I keep your pet’s environment stress-free, maintain clear communication, and make sure they get plenty of playtime, supervision, and comfort. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, understood, and completely at ease.
About: I have lots of experience caring for animals, from household pets to barn animals. I have grown up pet sitting for friends and family members for some years before owning any pets of my own in my home town (2 dogs and 2 cats). As of now, I am attending university so I am fostering cats who are either kittens or who have medical problems so I can administer their medications. I have been certified in Animal care and cpr, this allows me to be prepared for any situation. As of now, I have an open schedule and am flexible with bookings. I care for all pets by adhering to feeding schedules, walking schedules and more. Right now, I have a foster cat who I feed and play with daily. When I take care of my clients pets in their personal home, I will tend to their food, walking schedules, and medication schedules if needed. If I'm taking care of my clients pets in my personal home, I will always make my house feel like a second home so the pet feels as comfortable as it can be. If I'm cat-sitting, I always make sure their litter boxes are clean. Safety is the most important factor to me, I will always check on any information my clients leave me and will constantly be checking in on the pets. Communication is also important, communication with my clients is important for maintaining safety and trust.
“Having Sally housesit with our chocolate lab, River, makes leaving on a trip so much less stressful. We know Sally will take care of the house and keep River on the same routine he has when we are home - feeding, walks, hanging out on the couch together. River is happy and healthy when we get home!”

“Grace was amazing! Our boys need lots of exercise and play and she met that demand with flying colors. She left the house clean and followed all instructions for meds. She is very kind and my Border Collie even likes her. We will definitely use Grace again to take care of our precious boys.”

“Excellent pet sitter! Weslyn is reliable, caring and kept me updated. My pets were happy and well cared for and I felt completely at ease. I will definitely be booking again!”
“Selina took excellent care of our two dogs while we were out of the country for nearly 2 weeks. All care instructions were followed, and the dogs appeared very happy and comfortable around her. Medical issues were handled extremely well too. Thanks again, Selina!”

About: My parents bred Golden Retrievers when I was a young child, and I have loved and had dogs since I was born. Barb, a 120lb Rottweiler/Mastiff, is our current companion after losing Richard, our 165lb St. Bernard. Now that my husband and I are empty-nesters, and now that I am retired (for the time being) I'm excited to take care of other dogs. I'm skilled at dog training and love dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds and demeanors. Walking/hiking is one of my favorite past times. I'm excited for the opportunity to take care of your pooch! I am currently “retired” and have an extremely flexible schedule when I am not traveling. When I am in the Fairbanks area I should be able to help care for your dog most days/times. I have two fully fenced back yards. Barb (my dog) loves all dogs, and it is just Barb, my husband, and myself living in our home right now. I'm happy to accommodate the needs of your dog by keeping them at our house, going to your home, and/or taking them for a walk/hike/potty break. I also enjoy training puppies.
“Katie is fantastic! We booked her for an extended trip and it was the first time we’d left our pups since moving to Alaska. We were really nervous, especially since we’d very recently just lost one of our pups. Katie took excellent care of Mako and Mongo and our home. She gave them lots of love and cuddles and put us at ease with her good communication. Highly recommend.”

About: I’m a military member an active volunteer in the local animal rescue community. I’ve fostered multiple dogs and cats before they found their forever homes, giving me experience with a wide range of temperaments — from high-energy working breeds to shy or anxious rescues. I understand how important routine, structure, and consistency are for pets. Whether I’m providing house sitting, drop-ins, or walks, I maintain your pet’s normal schedule to keep them calm and comfortable. I’m comfortable administering simple medications, handling strong or active dogs, and caring for multi-pet households. My own two pets are family to me, and I treat every animal in my care with the same level of attention and respect. You can expect clear communication, prompt responses, and regular photo updates while you’re away. I maintain a structured and consistent daily routine, which allows me to provide dependable, attentive care. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and house sitting on weekends and weekdays after 4pm, with flexibility for early mornings when needed. Pets in my care receive regular exercise, feeding on schedule, and intentional engagement throughout the day. I prioritize maintaining your pet’s normal routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. Safety is my top priority — all introductions are done slowly and intentionally to ensure compatibility. I always follow your specific care instructions regarding feeding, exercise, and supervision. In your home, I maintain cleanliness, security, and clear communication throughout the stay. You can expect regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing.
“My pup had such a great time with Andrea! I was new to Rover and Andrea provided such a positive experience. She’s very prompt with communication and provided super cute pics of my girl throughout the week. Would absolutely recommend and use again!”

About: I’ve loved helping take care of my friends & neighbors dogs so much the past couple years I’m finally getting my own and want to spend time with yours! I am taking some time off this summer and so I have quite a bit of free time. I am a travel nurse who loves hiking, camping, paddleboarding, and any and all adventures! I am getting my first puppy this summer and figured the more I can hang out with dogs and make some other doggie friends the better! I unfortunately cannot board dogs in my own home due to my living situation, but am happy to drop by for walks/potty breaks, house sit, or even pick up your dog for a day of adventures!
“Eva was a great dog sitter for us. She was so nice and was able to accommodate our dates sort of at the last minute. Our dog seemed to feel very comfortable with her and it was so nice that we didn’t have to board our dog at the kennel. I had left lots of instructions for Eva and she seemed to have followed all of them perfectly! I felt totally comfortable with her staying over night in our house. All around it was a great experience and we will definitely plan to use her services again in the future! We highly recommend!”

About: I was raised on a homestead and absolutely adore animals. I am very professional and I promise your pets will love me. I love to run around and play with dogs outside, or chill inside and play with cats. I am looking for weekend jobs and evening jobs. I am working at an elementary school so I am unavailable from 8-4:15 until the end of May. I am very energetic and will tired out your hyper fur babies. I would love to take them on walks around the neighborhood, play fetch, or even brush them and give them all the love they want.

The average cost for House Sitting in Fairbanks on Rover is $44.22 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fairbanks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fairbanks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fairbanks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
