Jodi is a excellent dog walker and communicator. She provided full details about our dog's health and activity as well as photos. It is easy to tell how much she cares for the dogs she walks. I won't hesitate to use her again if I am lucky enough to be in the area again.

Rhonda saves the day once again! I have times I get called in to work and I’m away for several hrs. Levi loves to have Rhonda walk him or just drop-in when the weathers yucky. Thank you Ms Rhonda! 💕

About: I am very open and flexible schedule-wise, I don't mind getting up early if needed. I have experience with my own shitzu-poodle (Mocha), and my black cat (Gravy), as well as my neighbors various cats and dogs. I am a college student, so my only responsibility is to attend my classes. I have a lot of large gaps between/before classes where I can go let pets out for potty breaks, take them on a walk, give them food, etc,. I am very flexible. I have time to do multiple visits a day. I'm able to visit before classes, in between classes, and after. Any excuse to get out of my dorm is a good one 😅 I am more than willing to prepare food for pets, administer medications, or just spend some time with the pets if desired. Overall, I want to maintain a respectful and trusting relationship with clients.

Kristen has been walking my Alaskan husky for the past few weeks. She’s been super communicative, reliable, and awesome at adapting to my dog’s individual quirks. My dog is particularly shy around new people, but Kristen’s great at trying different things to make him feel more comfortable. It’s clear that she’s skilled in reading and adapting to different dog behaviors.

Mallory was a fantastic dog walker for my pup during a busy week when I couldn't give her all the attention she deserves. Mallory came by to meet Sakura ahead of time and discuss all the details with me. During the walks, she always provided text updates and adorable pictures. She even brought her kids along once and took them all to the playground!!! Thank you so much for your help taking care of my baby when I was busy, going above and beyond to give Sakura fun and fulfilling outings!

About: I've had pets for as long as I can remember and I'm that person that will go out of my way to make sure an animal is happy and content. Family, friends and neighbors fully entrust me with the care and transport of their pets and can rest their minds because they know their pet is in good hands. I send texts, pics and any other updates of how their beloved furry family member is doing while they're away. One time I was watching my friend's senior cat while she was away. We lived in very rural Alaska at the time where the nearest vet was a 3 hour drive. He was fine for the first couple of days, then out of nowhere he became very lethargic. Low energy and wasn't eating. I noticed a rather large, soft lump on his head between his ears which I thought to be an abscess. I reached into my background as a medical assistant and decided to drain the fluid. Once I did, he jumped back to his old self... purrring, playing, eating. Yes, I know taking him to the vet is the best option, but sometimes you do what needs to be done. While I love both cats and dogs and am willing to care for both, the dog would have to be the right fit. Meaning, due to my injury, I'm not able to go on runs like I used to or long walks. I am currently recovering from an on the job injury, so my schedule is very flexible. I am available most any time aside from my physical therapy appointments once a week. Don't let my injury deter you. I am strong, mobile and more than capable of most activities minus running or long walks. I prefer taking care of pets in the comfort of their home. I am both dependable and reliable as a house/pet sitter or drop in.

About: I’ve been a dog owner in the past for many years and enjoy walking dogs, playing fetch or just showing them lots of love! I currently have a dog and 2 cats of my own that my parents watch for me while I’m doing a sitting job. I do have some experience with training and teaching commands if needed. I am not able to have your dog at my apartment but am willing to come to you to help any way I can! I am using this service out to make some extra cash but also to appease my animal loving heart as well! :) Your pet(s) will be in good hands with me! I work “bankers hours” so I am free on nights and some weekends depending on my schedule and previous commitments but generally plenty of free time. I am always concerned for my own pets health and happiness and do any and everything I can do to make sure they’re living their best life. I will mostly be free for nights and weekends. I don’t usually plan much, especially in the winter, so I have plenty of free time! My cats have plenty of toys and 2 towers to climb on. They are always fed and watered and are always good for a cuddle.

This was my first time ever using Rover, and needed someone to come help take care of my two dogs at a rental house. Not only did Sofia accept on a couple hours notice, but she went so so far above and beyond and went three seperate times to the house, followed instructions perfectly with no questions, and provided absolutely perfect care to my two dogs. She took them on a big walk, fed them dinner, let them out to play, and provided exceptional communication the whole time. I am so impressed and grateful that I was lucky enough to get Sofia’s help today. 10/10, a million stars, and massive tip for her coming. thank you so much, you are a bright star in a dark world.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 8 years, and I’ve had dogs my entire life. I’m experienced in administering oral, topical medications, and injectable medications. I am comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels. I can confidently walk multiple dogs at once and always prioritize their safety, happiness, and well-being. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, or relaxing at home, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while you’re away. I’m a full-time student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, which gives me a flexible schedule with breaks between classes to check in on your beloved pets. When I’m not in class, I’m usually at home studying, so your pets will have plenty of company and won’t be left feeling lonely. Whether they need a quick potty break, playtime, or just someone to keep them company, I’m happy to provide attentive, reliable care. I’ve had dogs my entire life and have been caring for cats for the past 6 years. While I don’t currently offer boarding because I don’t have the space to host pets in my home, I’m committed to providing safe, reliable, and loving care in your pet’s familiar environment. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and well looked after while you’re away.

We booked Alana while traveling to the KOA in Fairbanks. Did a pre-meet with Alana the day before our scheduled walks. Alana was very friendly and knowledgeable about dogs. She came 2 days to take our dog out for a walk while we were on tours in the area. She was easy to contact, communicated very well, and even sent pics and the walk they did with notes! Great experience! We would use Alana again if in the area!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
