I just moved up here and needed someone to watch my dog Honey while I was away for a week and a half so I decided to give Rover a shot for the first time. I was really nervous since I didn’t know anyone here in Alaska and never had someone watch Honey before that wasn’t family. However, Samantha put all my nerves to rest the day she came over to meet Honey! While we were away she was always on time, spent lots of time outside with Honey, made sure she got her daily vitamins and sent plenty of pictures which I really appreciated. She gave me peace of mind leaving Honey and I am relieved to have an amazing dog sitter whenever I need to travel in the future. I could not have asked for a better person to care for Honey while I was gone!”

About: I’ve cared for pets for many years and genuinely love animals. I understand how important routines and trust are, and I make sure every pet feels comfortable, calm, and cared for. I am active duty military. I have time throughout the day to take dogs out or feed them when needed. Free Friday through Sunday as well About an acre of land for dogs to roam around on, unfenced. Can be crated when needed or if they are good without it and won’t destroy furniture, that works too. Can take them on walks or hikes.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, I have raised and trained 3 puppies and I have lived with and watched senior dogs. Because of a to a recent flood where I work, I am available full time to care for and love your dogs for the foreseeable future. About: I've had pets for as long as I can remember and I'm that person that will go out of my way to make sure an animal is happy and content. Family, friends and neighbors fully entrust me with the care and transport of their pets and can rest their minds because they know their pet is in good hands. I send texts, pics and any other updates of how their beloved furry family member is doing while they're away. One time I was watching my friend's senior cat while she was away. We lived in very rural Alaska at the time where the nearest vet was a 3 hour drive. He was fine for the first couple of days, then out of nowhere he became very lethargic. Low energy and wasn't eating. I noticed a rather large, soft lump on his head between his ears which I thought to be an abscess. I reached into my background as a medical assistant and decided to drain the fluid. Once I did, he jumped back to his old self... purrring, playing, eating. Yes, I know taking him to the vet is the best option, but sometimes you do what needs to be done. While I love both cats and dogs and am willing to care for both, the dog would have to be the right fit. Meaning, due to my injury, I'm not able to go on runs like I used to or long walks. I am currently recovering from an on the job injury, so my schedule is very flexible. I am available most any time aside from my physical therapy appointments once a week. Don't let my injury deter you. I am strong, mobile and more than capable of most activities minus running or long walks. I prefer taking care of pets in the comfort of their home. I am both dependable and reliable as a house/pet sitter or drop in.

About: Iv cared for many pets before, including but not exclusively dogs, cats and rabbits. I also have experience with large animals Currently have 7 cats of my own. Im kind with all animals I currently have a full time job, but i am available after 6pm to 10pm, with all day availability Monday and Tuesday. I wake up at 7am and study for classes from home and I work from 2-6pm every Wednesday-Saturday but I am able to check in on pets anytime before and after that time! I’m very flexible and can move around certain time scales! I care for my own cats at my house. I change their litter boxes everyday and feed them at 9am and at 5pm whenever I eat breakfast and dinner, and they have a running water bowl that I clean weekly! I definitely would treat other pets as my own and care and love for them as my own.

About: I have been taken care of dogs and puppies for 30 years. I am the first person they call when the dogs need walked, bathed or just loved on I am currently active military but will be retiring on 1 May. About: Growing up, I took care of two medium husky mixed dogs. I would walk, feed, and care for them for the 5 years that they lived in our home. In high school and college, I periodically dog sat and cared for cats of family friends. I have always loved the company of animals and have experience with all sizes and ages. In my senior year, I cared for an elderly dog who was blind. It was so rewarding to help this dog in its final years of life. I now own 2 cats and I love every minute I get to spend with them. Your pet will be in great experiences hands! My prior experience was with smaller breed dogs, yet the largest dog I’ve personally taken care of is a St. Bernard/Standard Poodle mix! My family currently owns a lasso mix and a pure breed Yorkshire terroir! I will be as flexible/availability as possible in my schedule and will be on a first come first serve basis.
