We really did not want to put our pup into a kennel, so Melissa to the rescue! Meeting her and having her photos and videos of their adventures while we were away gave us that warm feeling of knowing our ‘baby’ was being well taken care of! It was a super experience for us all, and we are so grateful we found Melissa and rover.com - certainly will use them again if we have leave our pup again! Thanks Thanks and more Thanks!

Absolutely wonderful! This was our first stay with her and already booked her to watch our dogs again in the future. She put us at ease with leaving her with our anxious girl but she gave them both so much love. Great at communicating and sending updates/photos!

Ziah was great. She communicated well with us and sent photos of our 11 year old chocolate lab while away. He is known to get into food left out and there were no issues with that while we were away. She swam in our pool with him like we requested for his hip dysplasia. We felt she took great care of our dog. We will definitely be using her again in the future. She left the house spotless and even cleaned the carpet when he pooped on it one time (no fault of her own). Highly recommend her!

Phoebe was awesome! She kept us informed all day about how Maisey was doing. She took her on walks, rubbed her belly and took great care of her. She also sent us lots of pics throughout the day which I really appreciate. Can’t wait for her to stay with Maisey again

I have experience with dogs of all sizes—from small breeds to large, high-energy pups—as well as both trained and untrained dogs. I’m patient, adaptable, and comfortable handling different personalities, whether your dog needs structure, extra guidance, or just a fun, active walk. I also have a soft spot for cats and understand that each one has their own unique personality. Whether your cat is playful, shy, or independent, I take the time to make them feel safe and comfortable while keeping their routine consistent. Safety and trust are always my top priorities. I pay close attention to each pet’s needs and energy level to make sure they feel happy, secure, and cared for. I’m dependable, communicative, and will keep you updated so you have peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every pet like my own—with patience, love, and lots of care! 🐾 As a full-time teacher, I bring consistency, responsibility, and care into everything I do—including pet care! During the school year, I’m available for before-school walks and afternoon/evening visits, typically after 4:30 PM. I love starting or ending a pet’s day with exercise, attention, and routine, so they feel happy and cared for while you’re busy. My schedule is reliable, and I always communicate clearly so you know your pet is in good hands. With summer right around the corner, my availability will be opening up significantly! I’ll be able to offer more flexible scheduling, additional walks, drop-ins, and extended pet sitting services. Whether it’s a quick morning walk, an after-school visit, or more frequent care in the summer, I’m here to help keep your pets happy, active, and well cared for! 🐾 ⸻ Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I provide in-home pet sitting and walks so your pet can stay in a familiar, stress-free environment while you’re away. Being in their own home helps pets feel secure, and I work hard to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I’m dependable, respectful of your space, and committed to building trust with both you and your pet. I follow all care instructions closely—whether it’s feeding schedules, medications, walk routines, or special preferences. I also prioritize safety on every walk by staying alert, using secure handling, and adapting to your pet’s needs and behavior. You can expect clear communication and regular updates, so you always know how your pet is doing. I treat every home with care and every pet like family, creating a calm, safe, and positive experience from start to finish.

Hands down, Guinevere has been the best dog sitter we’ve ever had. She responded in a very timely manner, kept us updated on how our three dogs were doing and sent many pictures. Two of our dogs normally go on a hunger strike when we leave, but this was no problem with Guinevere there. She even won over our crabby dog! House was left cleaner than when we left. We’re excited to book with Guinevere again in the near future.

About: Hi! I’m Kyra, and I’m a passionate, dependable animal lover who treats every pet like family. I bring patience, responsibility, and lots of positive energy into everything I do - including caring for your pets! I have experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities, and I understand that every pet has their own needs, routines, and quirks. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or just relaxing with some extra cuddles, I’m happy to match their vibe and make them feel safe and loved while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’m attentive, communicative, and will always keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend and give them all the care (and belly rubs!) they deserve! 🐾 I’m a full-time teacher, so my availability is most consistent in the afternoons, evenings, weekends, the summer time, and school breaks. On weekdays, I’m typically available after school for walks, drop-ins, and check-ins. I have more flexibility on weekends and can often accommodate a variety of times. During the school year, I stick to a reliable routine and will always communicate clearly about my availability. Over holidays and breaks, my schedule opens up even more, allowing for extended care if needed! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special needs to ensure they feel secure and cared for while you’re away. I’m attentive, patient, and always keep a close eye on pets during walks and visits. I follow all instructions carefully. Whether it’s feeding schedules, medications, or specific routines and I make sure pets are in a safe, clean environment at all times. I also believe communication is key, so you can expect regular updates and photos to give you peace of mind. I treat every pet like they’re my own; with lots of love, attention, and care!

We couldn't be happier with the way Eren and Luca cared for our two young cats while we were away! They gave them so much love and attention, and were very patient with our skittish kitty, monitoring him carefully to make sure he was getting enough food when he was too anxious to eat at regular mealtimes. They were great about checking in and sent us lots of video and photo updates, making it easy for us to relax during our trip in the confidence that our cats were being well taken care of. They followed our instructions carefully and left our house just as they found it. We highly recommend them!

About: I have had pets since childhood and currently own a two-year-old German Shepherd who is both affectionate and energetic. Caring for her has given me hands-on experience in handling, training, and providing attentive care for large dogs. I am passionate about working with dogs and would be delighted to provide the same level of care and attention to yours. I currently work during the day; however, I maintain a flexible remote schedule that allows me to accommodate pet care needs, including walks and outdoor breaks, at various times throughout the day. This flexibility enables me to support pet owners with more demanding or less adaptable schedules. I have fenced in yard and plenty of space for play time! I also have a patio where pets can relax out of the sun

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 8 years old, and have been pet-sitting since I was 14. I love all animals, but my heart melts for every dog I see! There is no dog I don't love on sight! I am not working any other full-time job at the moment, so I can spend plenty of time with your pet. I will most likely spend several hours at a time with your furry friend, taking breaks throughout the day for food and errands. Overnights can be arranged upon request. As I have two dogs in my own home, I would be caring for your pet in yours. I will leave your home neat and tidy, and will happily clean up after your pets while there. I will also send you pictures of your animals throughout my time with them, to let you know that they are sage and happy.

About: I Love dogs, since my dog has passed away several years ago I enjoy pet sitting to fill the void. Animals are love. Your animal will be cared for and loved the way you would. We have a fenced in yard which your animal can play in and he will not be ignored or cooped up. We have had many dogs in the past but do not currently have one. Good with large dogs, or all sizes, really, Many people have trusted us with their dogs but now I am trying this service hoping it works well on all ends, it seems like a good idea. Your animal will be in a safe environment and you can get regular updates. Thank you for considering me. I am currently tele commuting working from home. Your dog won't be left alone for hours on end and will not be ignored. Usually home 7 days a week The yard is fenced in, and I have also been using an apple air tag as an extra level of security. Making sure your dog never gets away is the highest priority.

We had an unexpected need for a dog sitter, and Rob stepped in without hesitation. From the moment we met him, he was incredibly receptive, knowledgeable, and immediately got along with our dogs. Managing five dogs is no small task, and Rob handled everything flawlessly. Despite the last-minute request, he was more than willing to help with little to no questions asked, which truly put our minds at ease during a stressful situation. Knowing Rob was at our home allowed us to focus on what we needed to without worrying about our dogs. He was communicative throughout the stay, sending updates and photos without us even needing to ask. When we returned home, everything was exactly as we had hoped—our house was spotless, and our dogs were happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. We absolutely plan to use Rob again in the future and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with both their pets and their home.

Melissa was fabulous. In advance of our trip, Melissa came to meet Wally, Poppy and Rosie (our dog and cats). Melissa was very comfortable with all three of them. Rosie pretty immediately climbed in her lap. We knew we needed somebody special since Rosie, one of the cats, needs special care including oral and transdermal meds. Melissa was prepared to handle that. While we were gone Melissa sent daily updates and photos. Seeing the way all three of them around her, I knew they were in great hands. I really do think Melissa is the best.

FAQs for House Sitting - Emmaus

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Emmaus on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,623 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Emmaus. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Emmaus walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Emmaus maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Emmaus choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Emmaus. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
