Madeline & Isaiah are so great! They took care of our pups just like their own and were very diligent with their feeding & overall care. Super communicative and trustworthy. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for in home dog sitting or even drop ins! They routinely do both visit types for us and we truly can’t give them enough praises for how well they take care of our fur babies.

Sophia dog sat in our house over Memorial Day weekend & was fantastic!! She sent several updates and photos daily. She was super responsive and our doggies seemed to be happy in her care! She left our house in great condition. She even volunteered to let out the dogs again after leaving due to our flight being delayed. Would highly recommend her for any dog sitting or drop-in needs!!

Wow...where do I even begin?! Kaylen is fantastic!!! She took such great care of our dogs, really and truly cared, loved, and paid attention to our babies! Our dogs can be very quirky with new people, one has some medical issues and she can be slow to trust people, but Kaylen's confidence and understanding of dog behavior truly made our Bo feel at ease! I have never had anyone but family watch our dogs prior and was panicking when we found out we could not bring our dogs on our family trip, but I am so grateful it led me to Kaylen! I actually got to enjoy my time away, (as much as you can when missing your pups), because I trust Kaylen so much, our dogs were in the best hands. We got amazing updates, our house was left in immaculate condition, our dogs were so happy and all updates showed how loved they were, it was just such a fantastic experience! Kaylen is really there for the dogs, she never judged, she was so helpful in guiding us through the meet and greets, it was such a phenomenal time, I really can not put into words how amazing she is and how much I fully trust her with my Mozzy and Bo. I promise you that she is the best sitter on here! You and your fur babies will regret not booking with her!!

Ann was absolutely incredible! Our English Bulldogs can be a bit high-maintenance, but she took exceptional care of them. She stayed in constant communication while we were away, sending daily updates, photos, and videos. Seeing how much fun they were having made it so much easier for us to relax on our trip. She even went above and beyond by helping prepare our home for the winter storm that hit while we were gone. Ann was truly a blessing, and our boys already can't wait to see her again 😊

About: I have been in love with animals since I was little. I grew up on a farm with horses, cows, a sheep, dogs and cats. I've had 9 rescue dogs throughout my life, as well as 8 niece and nephew pups and countless friends' dogs I've cared for and loved. I have also volunteered at shelters and wildlife rescues, and I've even camel sat! I have experience working with and caring for different breeds, sizes, energy levels, and temperaments and have partnered with trainers to help dogs with work through anxiety, over-stimulation, and reactivity issues. I have also cared for special needs dogs and senior dogs who need meds, diapers, traction devices, slings, and extra attention. Once I get to know a pup, I am very attuned to their behavior/mood/signs and am able to help them feel cared for and safe. I'm currently working part time, so my availability is very wide open. I'm free for walks and play time during the day or overnight stays with your pup in your home if you have a work trip or vacation. Is your dog an escape artist? I've had one of those, so I can bring a heavy wooden gate to block off doors or other areas of the house as needed. Other than that, I will treat your pet with the same care and attention I give my own dogs, and considering that my friends have said they would like to be reincarnated as one of my dogs....

I have an extremely flexible routine because I do not have a job. I’m also an empty-nester with just my husband and myself at our home. About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a horse farm surrounded by all kinds of animals, so caring for pets has always been a big part of my life. I’ve always felt comfortable around animals of all sizes, including big dogs and pets with unique personalities or needs. I have 7+ years of experience with pet sitting, dog walking, and overnight stays, and I’ve cared for dogs with all different temperaments and energy levels. I love getting to know each pet’s personality, keeping them comfortable in their routine, and making sure they feel happy and cared for while their owners are away. I have a 10 year old cat named Humphrey who is my absolute pride and joy. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone else, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. I’d love the chance to meet your furry friends and give them the love, attention, and care they deserve! I recently graduated college this April and have moved in with my parents in Northlake. I am currently job searching which means my schedule is very flexible, and I have plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your pets! Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and love making part of my daily routine. I’m able to provide plenty of attention, walks, playtime, companionship, and care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs an energetic walking buddy, a calm presence while you’re away, or someone to keep them company overnight, I’m happy to help. My flexible schedule allows me to be reliable, attentive, and present for your furry friends when they need it most. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I always start by learning each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free for them. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping their pets on their normal schedule: following feeding instructions, maintaining their routines, providing walks, playtime, attention, and plenty of affection. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel connected and confident while you’re away! I understand that every animal is different, and I’m always mindful of their boundaries, energy level, and individual personality.

Could not have asked for a better sitter! Andi was AMAZING and is the kind of sitter every pet parent hopes to find! She cared for our pup (and home) like her own, kept us updated with lots of photos and messages, and made being away totally stress-free. Our house was spotless (seriously cleaner than when we left!) and our pup was all smiles when we got home. Truly the best--we'll definitely be repeat clients!

FAQs for House Sitting - Elizabethtown

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Elizabethtown on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 4,250 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Elizabethtown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Elizabethtown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Elizabethtown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Elizabethtown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elizabethtown. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
