“Edyn was great and my Bulldog loved her and her Cowbell. She did a wonderful job and is coming back tomorrow for a week. We are so happy with her warmth and care for our Bulldog and home. Thank you so much Edyn!! :)”

“Ayla & Han are superlative care providers for our pets and home. We received regular updates with photos, and our pets looked relaxed and happy. Two of our pets tend toward the anxious side, so this is especially impressive. The house was left clean and tidy. They washed the sheets, remade the bed, and even fixed a toilet! I’m sure we will discover more; we just returned late yesterday. We highly recommend Ayla & Han.”

“We have total confidence in Kaitlin! We have used her services several times and feel completely comfortable leaving Blue with her. She is very loving and professional !!”

“Brittany took excellent care of my three adult cats and two foster kittens over a long weekend in my home! Both the cats and the home were better when we returned than how we left them - she followed the pet care instructions to a tee (including one cat that needed daily medication), sent lots of photos and updates, and even brought in mail/tidied up around the house. She went above and beyond to brush the cats and spend quality time with the energetic kittens. She was a good communicator, reliable, and trustworthy and I’d book her again without hesitation.”

“Hi, we’re Radar and Jammer, and we’re writing this review ourselves because Maren is the best! She stayed at our house the whole time (she was doing school on her computer), so she was always here with us. We were never lonely; our new friend Maren provided constant good company. We got LOTS of walks every day, and the best part?...she let us roll in the dirt as much as we wanted. When Radar got extra muddy (classic Radar), Maren even gave her a bath, which Radar thought was a nice pampering. We felt totally safe and happy the whole time. Zero stress, zero FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) like we usually get when our humans go somewhere without us. When our humans came home, they were pleasantly surprised at how clean the house was and that our fur hadn’t piled up everywhere after a whole week. (We know that Maren kept the house tidy with the vacuum). Also, we *may* have pulled a little thread on a blanket while jumping on it (zoomies…). Maren told the humans right away and even offered to pay for it. (They said no since we’re the ones who did it and it’s just normal dog wear and tear, but still – very responsible of her.) Maren is our #1 favorite sitter, paws down. (Part of us wants to keep her a secret so she’s always free when they leave again…but our humans said there are other doggos who should get to spend time with Maren too). Highly recommend. Just maybe leave a few open dates for us? We need her too! 10/10 will invite our friend over again! - Radar & Jammer”

“Morgan was amazing - daily updates and pictures - arrived to a clean home - and most importantly, my dog was happy and well exercised when I got home! I will definitely use Morgan again! She even sent me pictures of my flowers that bloomed while I was away!”

“Tamarine is super organized and responsible. I received daily photos and updates and came back to a clearly content cat and spotless home. Will definitely book with her again!”

About: I grew up with all kinds of dogs and have raised several large breed dogs myself. It currently isn’t the right time for me to welcome a new dog into my life full time but I miss having the company. I’m currently working from home so I have lots of flexibility for cuddles, walks and potty breaks. I’m also a runner and happy to take any high energy dogs out for a tour. I do not have a backyard but am close to parks where we can walk. I have space for a dog bed or crate if needed. My neighborhood is dog friendly.
“Ciara took very good care of both my dogs, especially with one of them needing medication and special care. She also sent updates and pictures throughout my trip. Thank you!”

About: I have pet set for a number of years for my family and friends and I have pets myself and some have found forever homes with me. I have an open house where the animals feel safe and can be themselves. Playing is always encouraged and lots of lap time and loving is always available. I know how important pets are in making our lives happy and healthy. My pets have their own crate that they can go into whenever they want, I even have a cat that enjoys his safe crate too. Your pet will be treated the same as I treat my own pets and my pets are spoiled rotten. You can feel confident that your pet is taken care of and safe while you are away.

“We are so happy to have found Adyson! She watched our two pups overnight, and we couldn't be more pleased with the overall experience. Adyson sent us many pictures of her stay and when we returned home, the dogs were incredibly happy, and the house was just as we left it. It is such a relief to find someone so trustworthy and dependable. We appreciate her so much and highly recommend Adyson to anyone looking for an excellent sitter for their furry family members!”

“Jennifer was fabulous with our girls, even our more suspicious pooch was loving on her and giving her kisses. Jenn was very communicative and took great care of our dogs and house. Will definitely be using again!”

“Danielle’s communication was amazing-I hadn’t left my new kitty before & she was so patient and reassuring to me. He was in happy spirits, not stressed or dismayed when I got home so I know he was well taken care of. Super grateful for the help but also reassuring communication made my time away so much better.”

“Chloe did such a fantastic job taking care of Bailey for a week over the holidays. She sent lots of photos and updates and even took care of a few things around the house for me. Highly recommend having Chloe take care of your loved one.”

“Conrad was absolutely fabulous. Everyone was very happy and well cared for. Communication was excellent, and pictures were sent as requested. We will definitely be using Conrad’s services again in the near future.”

“We left our 2 chiweenies for the first time ever with India while we were in a hotel visiting, and she did a wonderful job! She arrived on time and was so nice! Our dogs are anxious around new people so they were barking at first and I had to put them in a separate room until they calmed down. Within 20 minutes of us being gone, India sent me pictures of them calmed down and finally sitting in the same room as her. When we returned, one of them was even sitting with her on the couch. 110% recommend, will definitely use her again if we're ever in the area!”

“Kim was amazing with Gunner! She gave him so much attention and care while I was away, and the regular photo updates gave me total peace of mind seeing how happy and well taken care of he was. I’ll definitely be reaching out to Kim the next time I need coverage!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Elbert walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Elbert maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Elbert choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elbert. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
