Eliana was wonderful to work with! Great communicator, scheduled a time ahead of our trip to meet the dogs and go over their routine and ask questions. She then kept us in the loop while we were away through texts, photos and videos. For this anxious fur-mom, it was refreshing to working with someone who offered care to detail and clear communication. Would absolutely trust and love to work with Eliana in the future if travel plans mean dogs stay home, it'll be a peace of mind knowing their care is in good hands. Thanks Eliana for the weekend visit!

About: I have been around cats and dogs my entire life and have cared for various breeds and sizes. I have a lot of experience giving medication (liquid and pills) as well as rewrapping casts and flushing drains. I can brush and bathe both cats and dogs. As I am currently working from home, I will be able to spend plenty of time with your pets. They will not be left alone for any work hours. I will be watching your pet(s) in your home. I can bathe, brush, give medication, and follow any specific routines that you need me to for your cat or dog.

About: I've taken care of many different kinds of animals and am willing to take care of even more. I love reptiles and rodents. Cats especially! If you have a small dog or cat that you can't clip their nails then leave it to me, I can handle that for ya! It fits most of my day, I am very anxious and care deeply for the safety and health of my pets. It is a daily thing for me to check on everything. I personally own a cat and used to own a guinea pig. (Rip Pumpkin) I make sure the food bowl is full 2 times a day because my son doesnt like seeing the bottom. I make sure to check the litter box and water every single day to make sure theres no blowouts and that things are kept clean. I will play with him for a solid 2 hours at least a day (hes very large) and then he gets lap cuddles almost all day.

About: I have experience with all types of dogs from small to big. From puppy to senior. I believe they are family companions and should be cared for as such. I'm available for care on the weekends. My schedule is free. I work full-time during the week and can be available in the evenings as well. I like for the pets to be comfortable in their own surroundings and for them to be able to show me their space, their likes and dislikes.

About: I have pet set for a number of years for my family and friends and I have pets myself and some have found forever homes with me. I have an open house where the animals feel safe and can be themselves. Playing is always encouraged and lots of lap time and loving is always available. I know how important pets are in making our lives happy and healthy. My pets have their own crate that they can go into whenever they want, I even have a cat that enjoys his safe crate too. Your pet will be treated the same as I treat my own pets and my pets are spoiled rotten. You can feel confident that your pet is taken care of and safe while you are away.

About: My family and I use to foster puppies all the time when I was little. We also always had our family husky lab dog. I now have my own Husky who will be carried for at home while I care for yours. have been in the dog sitting business for so long with just friends and neighbors. But I ended up getting this one gig where the lady herself boarded dogs and no joke she had at least 6 dogs one time when she asked me to stay overnight. All had different food and some medication. There were 2 chichas downstairs together. and the other 4 were left lose to sleep with me. I'm looking for jobs now, so I'm pretty open on schedule. So please feel free reach out with the time you want for your animals. I live in a house with 2 other dogs for my Husky to play with. Which I will leave my dog there when im out looking after others, as she has a loving little tribe at home with my roomates and her dog friends. I'm use to my husky needing run alot and having alot of energy so nothing is new for me in that department of dogs. If needed to live in with the dog, then I will fully move in for that time frame so the dog isn't lonely. I love play tug of war and ball with dogs and some cats even have played fetch for me. I love getting cuddles from little furry pets and giving them the love and attention they deserve.

I've taken care of all kinds of dogs for 27 adult years and even when I was a kid I helped take care of our family dog. Our family loves dogs! I can bathe, brush, walk, administer medicine, and love on your family pet. I've trained many puppies with much success. I am my friends and families go to dog sitter. I am here most days with my kids who love to play and love on animals. Your dog will have access to the outside and inside of the house. I understand that leaving your beloved family member is hard but I will send you updates and photos all through their stay to reassure that they are having a great time while you are away. I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! I do work part time outside the house. I am flexible with setting appointments or even spur of the moment I am currently working part time outside the home, so I have plenty of time to play with your family pet when I am not working. At our house your dog is part of our family and my children are all involved in the care and love of your pet. FAQs for House Sitting - Calhan

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Calhan on Rover is $36.08 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 915 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Calhan. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Calhan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Calhan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Calhan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Calhan. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
