About: I have been around cats and dogs my entire life and have cared for various breeds and sizes. I have a lot of experience giving medication (liquid and pills) as well as rewrapping casts and flushing drains. I can brush and bathe both cats and dogs. As I am currently working from home, I will be able to spend plenty of time with your pets. They will not be left alone for any work hours. I will be watching your pet(s) in your home. I can bathe, brush, give medication, and follow any specific routines that you need me to for your cat or dog.
About: I have been in the veterinary industry for about 5 years now and have had animals all my life! Dogs, cats, reptiles, mouses, turtles, birds- you name it! I treat them as if they are mine own- with lots of love!! Many friends & family have trusted me within taking care of their four legged family members from time to time and I enjoy it just as much! I currently work at a 24 hour emergency clinic Sunday, but I do get off at 2:30 PM and I’m able to walk or take care of your pet pets in the evening on those days. I am fully available Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. I take my time getting to know my clients pets, making sure they are comfortable with me as I am with them. First time introductions matter and I love meet and greets to make sure I’m the right fit.
About: I've taken care of many different kinds of animals and am willing to take care of even more. I love reptiles and rodents. Cats especially! If you have a small dog or cat that you can't clip their nails then leave it to me, I can handle that for ya! It fits most of my day, I am very anxious and care deeply for the safety and health of my pets. It is a daily thing for me to check on everything. I personally own a cat and used to own a guinea pig. (Rip Pumpkin) I make sure the food bowl is full 2 times a day because my son doesnt like seeing the bottom. I make sure to check the litter box and water every single day to make sure theres no blowouts and that things are kept clean. I will play with him for a solid 2 hours at least a day (hes very large) and then he gets lap cuddles almost all day.
About: My family and I use to foster puppies all the time when I was little. We also always had our family husky lab dog. I now have my own Husky who will be carried for at home while I care for yours. have been in the dog sitting business for so long with just friends and neighbors. But I ended up getting this one gig where the lady herself boarded dogs and no joke she had at least 6 dogs one time when she asked me to stay overnight. All had different food and some medication. There were 2 chichas downstairs together. and the other 4 were left lose to sleep with me. I'm looking for jobs now, so I'm pretty open on schedule. So please feel free reach out with the time you want for your animals. I live in a house with 2 other dogs for my Husky to play with. Which I will leave my dog there when im out looking after others, as she has a loving little tribe at home with my roomates and her dog friends. I'm use to my husky needing run alot and having alot of energy so nothing is new for me in that department of dogs. If needed to live in with the dog, then I will fully move in for that time frame so the dog isn't lonely. I love play tug of war and ball with dogs and some cats even have played fetch for me. I love getting cuddles from little furry pets and giving them the love and attention they deserve.
“Maranda was absolutely incredible with Boone. She kept me updated with adorable photos, made him special puppy ice cream, and took wonderful care of him while I was away. She’s incredibly kind, attentive, and a wonderful communicator. The house was spotless when I got home and Boone was relaxed and happy. She’s trustworthy, loving, and exactly the kind of sitter every dog parent dreams of! Boone and I are so lucky to have found her.”

“We have total confidence in Kaitlin! We have used her services several times and feel completely comfortable leaving Blue with her. She is very loving and professional !!”

“Hannah was absolutely amazing to have watching my pup on every level! She promptly communicated exceptionally well through the entire process and did not skip a beat maintaining his routine. I could not have asked for a better Rover and have already rebooked her for a future trip!”

“House was cleaner than when we left. Dogs were very well taken care of and great communication while we were home. Thanks so much. Second time we’ve used Sarah and we hope she is available when we need sitting again in the future. Thank you!!”

“We were away for two weeks and Blyth stayed at our house for the 2nd time. She is amazing. She had a devastating family emergency come up while we were away and she never even considered leaving early. She goes above and beyond and our 8 month old springer adores her. We were comfortable he was loved on and in great hands.”

“We cannot thank Taylor enough for watching our dogs while we were away. We met her prior to the trip and the dogs were happy with her instantly (I enjoyed chatting with her too). During our time away, she checked in a few times and I had no worries that the dogs were enjoying their time with her in the comfort of their own home. She left the house in perfect condition and I could tell that the dogs had been well cared for while we were gone. I highly recommend her, and would absolutely have her care for our dogs in the future. We all were so lucky to have found her!”
“Tori was fanatastic! Very prompt communication and completely dependable. Sent pictures and updates of our dog so we knew he was enjoying himself and being kept on his usual routine. We felt very confident leaving our lab and home in her hands. Will recommend and use again!”

“We couldn't have left our pets, and our home, in better hands! We had a good feeling when Samantha stopped by for a meet n greet and our Molly took to her immediately. She's normally very shy and standoffish at first so it was particularly remarkable that she had no hesitation with Samantha at all. While we were gone Samantha kept us updated with daily reports and photos of our babies. When we arrived home (hours later than agreed, due to airline delays), the house was spotless and the animals were all happy & healthy. From now on, whenever we need house/pet sitting services she will be our first choice!”

About: I have sat all types and ages of dogs, as well as cats, birds, chickens & can even take care of horses. I used to do AKC Obedience, Rally & Agility competitions with my mini-Aussie who is now 13, has arthritis and takes insulin shots twice daily. So, not only am I experienced with this type of medical, I’ve administered other medications, such as pills and ear drops. I am definitely able to do just about any type of dog training, but am especially good with calming and teaching how to walk at heel so there is no pulling. I do charge a bit more for training…but not much! I am a teacher at a local charter school, but my job is actually less than part time now, so I’m trying to housesit and walk pups as a way to save on rent and make some extra cash. My job is 9-1 every other day - M/W/F one week and T/Th the next. So, I’ll be around a lot. In your home, I’ll follow your wishes and not diverge. I’ll give lots of love and make your pets feel like royalty! I also love to organize, clean, garden and take care of plants.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 83 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Simla. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Simla walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Simla maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Simla choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
