“Lauren did a fantastic job with the cats. I know because they were acting normally when I got home. Usually, my skittish guy would hide in the cellar for a day to get back to normal but he was perfect. She was very good about giving Callie her medicine too. It was very comforting to get the pics and comments each day. I knew the cats were in good hands.”

“Andrea was super kind and communicative, and really patient with our relatively high energy/touch sensitive dog. I really appreciated her taking the time to let me explain her care during our M&G. She sent pictures regularly and played Mizzy's favorite games with her! I'd absolutely book with Andrea again :)”

“Christine was very reliable to watch our 2 cats. Both cats became increasingly trusting of her and she sent us great pictures. She was communicative, proactive and we would trust her to take care of our cats again.”

“Roslyn was just fantastic, how much we appreciated her photos and letting us know our Kitty was doing great . would definitely recommend her and we will be using her again!!”

“An amazing sitter! She went above and beyond for us. So thankful for her and being able to drop in last minute for us. I would recommend to anyone. She handled our crazy pups so well.”

“Karen was great with my 2 babies! My very timid and very shy of strangers, Shadow, came out for her even after hearing her sister, Sumi, getting all the loving attention! Wholly recommend her and would hire her services again. Very kind and thoughtful and responsive.”

“My husband and I travel frequently and now have used Michelle twice to check on our cat. She is communicative, caring and trustworthy. I will continue to use her services if available!”

“Emma was fantastic! She did everything perfectly, followed my dogs strict diet, and schedule. When my dog needed to go to the emergency vet. Emma took her and did everything perfectly, I could also tell my dog warmed up to her very quickly, and loved her pets! Emma was fantastic and I plan to use her services again. I would also reccommend her to any family and friends! <3”

“Claudia responded very quickly to all of our questions and took the time for a pre-visit before her first drop-in to make sure that our dog was familiar with her. She also has a very calming manner, which was helpful with our anxious hound. We highly recommend her!”

“Elisabeth took incredible care of my cat while I was away! I got plenty of photos and she was even kind enough to give in to his daily demands to be brushed. It was such a relief to know he was well taken care of while I was gone for two weeks. Elisabeth was able to step in and extend her visits when my return trip was delayed for a day. Highly recommended!”

“Jennifer took excellent care of our cat while we were out - she’s thorough, professional, and takes great pics! We’ll definitely be requesting her services again in the future.”

About: I started off with two dogs of my own as a teenager. After so many years of joy, they're no longer with me. People are often surprised that I had a hermit crab for 10 years. He died when I went on vacation, so I am very aware of the risks we take entrusting another with the care of a beloved pet. I also have about five years experience caring for a rabbit. I miss them all dearly, but the responsibility was huge as a pet parent. So, now I'm very happy to fill in for others when they're in need. I do have a steady part-time job, which leaves me room to do what I really enjoy- caring for pets! For my first Rover gig, I provided full-time day care for a puppy, but she's all grown up now. Ideally, I would do the whole situation over again with a new puppy because being a Dog Nanny is the best and most rewarding job I have ever had-potty training and all. I prefer to have my eyes on dogs at all times. They won't be outside alone, and will not be unleashed unless we're in a safe, enclosed area. If they have snacks or toys, they'll be supervised just in case.
“Bri is an excellent pet sitter—I can’t recommend her highly enough. She’s taken great care of my cat several times while I’ve been on vacation. She’s informative and responsive and knows how to administer medication.”

“Jennifer was great! She took a ton of pictures and did a great write up for each visit. She went above and beyond in talking care of things while we were gone! I would definitely recommend💙”
About: Calling all 2nd shift workers! If your pet needs a walk or check-in during the afternoon or early evening, I'm your girl. My weekday availability is (temporarily) limited to 2:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Weekend availability is pretty open. Hello, pet people! I took a 5-year hiatus from Rover due to some life changes, but I'm back to offering walks and drop-ins. If your work schedule and busy life are keeping you from giving your pup the exercise and attention they need, I'm here to help. Pets have always been a part of my life. Currently, our family has two birds and one dog: a 26-pound Mini Pinscher mix that keeps us on our toes. Professionally, I'm a freelance pet journalist, and I've covered everything from "enforced puppy naps" to "touch sensitivity" and beyond. While I'm certainly enthusiastic about meeting any dog or cat, I also understand some pets need a gentler approach. Every dog (and cat) is an individual, with their own unique preferences and personality. That's why I'll spend some time getting to know them at our first meet-and-greet. I do freelance work from home, so my schedule is very flexible. I can pop in for a check-in or "sniffari" walk when it works best for your pooch: mornings, afternoons, or early evenings. If you'd like to establish a weekly schedule, we can work that out, too! Safety on walks is my top priority. I'll make sure harnesses are properly fitted, leashes are secure, and water is available. I also check for hot pavement in warm months, snow salt in cold months, and slippery conditions in rainy, mucky weather. If your dog is reactive on leash, we can talk strategy (avoiding other dogs or triggers). And if your dog has a high prey drive like mine, I'll keep an eye out for rascally squirrels.
About: I have take care of dogs and cats since I can remember. I’ve always had family pets that I looked after. Recently I started to pet sit professionally and have looked after pets with all manners of personalities and needs. I am currently working full time with a hybrid schedule. Monday through Wednesday in the office and Thursday through Friday remote. I am free every weekend and anytime after 5pm. Because each pet parent is unique and has their own ways to raise and care for their pets I strictly adhere to their rules and guidelines. That includes areas they have their pets walk and house rules for those that request house sitting.

Karen was great with my 2 babies! My very timid and very shy of strangers, Shadow, came out for her even after hearing her sister, Sumi, getting all the loving attention! Wholly recommend her and would hire her services again. Very kind and thoughtful and responsive.

Mia is a wonderful cat sitter. This was the first time our two cats met her, and we were surprised by how quickly they became comfortable with her, since they are usually shy around new people. Mia took great care of them, followed the feeding instructions carefully, and was very patient and gentle with them. She also spent time playing with them and made them feel safe and happy. We really appreciate her care and would highly recommend Mia to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter.

Emma is wonderful. She came over a few days before my trip to meet the cats, and she was able to get my skittish guy to accept some pets, which is rare (the other one had no issues with meeting her). She took wonderful care of both of them, and she was super understanding when my flight got delayed and I needed her for an extra morning. Will definitely book again the next time I'm out of town!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Eggertsville. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
