About: I have many pets of my own. This includes three dogs, two mice, gecko, and a bunch of fish!! I love taking care of animals and making sure they are as happy as they can be even when their owner isn't home! ❤️ During the summer I will be pretty free! However, during the school year I always make sure to change my schedule to accommodate the needs of your pets I take care of pets the way their owner wants me to! I will also play and give them lots of love. Feeding on time is important. I always make sure they have water so they are hydrated!

Kristi was excellent. We have a family friend who normally comes and watches our dogs, but she was out of town during our time away, so we were a little nervous (and excited!) to try out Rover. Before the actual appointment, Kristi did a meet and greet with our two dogs, which was super helpful to ensure the dogs had met and vibed with her. During our 3-day weekend away, Kristi stayed with our dogs and was very responsive throughout. She followed instructions, sent us photos, and, probably most helpful of all (to me), was confident and reassured us our dogs were in good hands! It's tough for me to part with my dogs in a situation like this, but she put me at ease the very first day. Best of all, we came home to two happy dogs! :) Would definitely book with Kristi again!

Jeanne was kind and caring for our pup. She was flexible with our start time when we had to unexpectedly leave town early to beat the ice storm and not miss our vacation. She took good care of our home and was respectful and a good communicator.

I had the pleasure of booking house-sitting with Kia for my senior dog and a foster dog for two weeks. Kia communicated well, sent multiple pictures from her visits and was able to provide additional care, medications and exercise for my senior dog in my absence. We had an emergency at the house and Kia made me aware and made herself available for contractors to come and repair the issues. Her work ethic and ability to communicate are both very professional and exceptional I would rebook with Kia and recommend this Rover without hesitation. You can tell that Kia truly cares for the pets.

Jen was AMAZING. She watched my dog and two cats for 10 days and I don’t have a single complaint. She was very communicative, the house was clean when we returned, and my pets loved her. Jen’s love of animals is pure and you could see it during the meet & greet. I will recommend Jen to anyone in the area in need of a sitter (except on days that I need her!!!). I could not ask for a better house sitter and will definitely be booking again in the future.

Gracie is a literal angel! She stayed at my house for 11 days taking care of my dog and 2 cats, and she somehow left my house better than when I left! My pets aren’t the easiest to take care of so I left a lot of specific instructions and she was able to maintain their care seamlessly. Couldn’t recommend her enough and I would definitely ask her to pet sit again.

About: I’ve had experience with both dogs and cats, having been a dog owner myself and currently a volunteer foster in the DFW area. I have cared for all ages — including puppies, kittens as young as 1 week old, adult cats/dogs and senior dogs. I hope to care for your pet be it in the comfort of their home or ours. Lots of room in the backyard for zoomies! I do work full time but have the flexibility to work from home. I typically go into the office 3 days a week and do half days as I occasionally pet sit or care for foster animals. Happy to talk about arrangements or flexibility! We do not have any permanent resident pets in our home, just the occasional fosters. We do crate when away from home, but pets have full roaming capabilities when we’re home. If I come to your home I’m happy to abide by any rules or routines you prefer!

The perfect sitter! I have two big dogs. They are awesome but 150lbs of dog can be a handful. He handled them like a pro and they adore him. I look forward to booking again. I felt so comfortable being away from the house knowing they were in great hands.

About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life—my father was a veterinarian, my mother a teacher—and I’ve looked after countless fur babies of all kinds. Pets are among the most precious parts of our lives. ❤️ I truly love caring for animals and making them feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and pay close attention to their routines, personalities, and needs. Whether it’s playtime in the yard, walks at the park, or cuddle time, I make sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for. I provide exercise, playtime, potty breaks, and loving attention tailored to each pet’s personality and energy level. I have the flexibility to care full-time for pets in my home or yours, with reliability and genuine love. If house sitting, I can also help with small household tasks so your home stays comfortable and maintained while you’re away. In Hawaiian, a pet caretaker is called a Kahu—which means guardian, protector, and steward of something cherished. This meaning really resonates with me and take that role seriously while caring for your fur baby, providing love, attention, and safety as if they were my own.💕 For pets boarding at my home, I provide a kennel and dog bed for convenience so you don’t have to transport yours, but you’re welcome to bring your own! Work-from-home sitter giving your fur baby (and home, if housesitting) love, attention, and playtime. Huge fenced backyard and nearby parks for walks—updates and photos sent so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and spoiled! I follow all care instructions, administration of medicine schedules and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while doing my best to stay on their schedule at home that they are used to. My grandchildren sometimes visit to give extra love, but if your dog doesn’t get along with children, they won’t be present. Certified in CPR & Pet First Aid (08/2025) with verification badges in my photo gallery. I love building long-term relationships so your fur baby looks forward to coming back! For your convenience, I have a kennel available at my home if your pup is crate-trained or enjoys having a cozy space to relax. You’re welcome to use mine, so there’s no need to bring one back and forth unless you prefer to.

About: I grew up with a variety of pets. My friends trust me to watch their pets while they are away. As a teacher on summer break, I have a flexible schedule to provide dependable care for your pets. I really enjoy going on walks and playing with pets so they are cared for while their owners are away. I am a teacher on summer break with a very flexible schedule. Aside from occasional plans with family and friends, I am available for most of the summer and am happy to provide services for your sweet pet when it works best for you. During the school year, I will be available some evenings and weekends. I know it can feel intimidating to leave your pet in someone else's care. I take that responsibility seriously and strive to make both pets and owners feel comfortable. As a teacher and lifelong dog lover, I'm dependable, attentive, and respectful of others' homes. I'll follow your instructions carefully, keep you updated, and make sure your pet receives plenty of attention and care while you're away.

If you want to have a worry free pet sit, book with Jennifer. Our only worry was our pets not wanting us to come home. She gave them so much love and attention that I don’t think they missed us at all. We had no worries during the week we were gone because she sent lots of pictures and messages. We have already booked her again for next month.

FAQs for House Sitting - Edgecliff Village

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Edgecliff Village on Rover is $46.35 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,845 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Edgecliff Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Edgecliff Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Edgecliff Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Edgecliff Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Edgecliff Village. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
