About: I’ve had and worked with dogs my entire life, from small to extra large. They’ve all come with different personalities and challenges. I enjoy learning about each dog’s strengths and weaknesses. I am currently working on the weekends and have a consistent client whose dog I walk between 10 and 12 every week day. I also like early mornings and afternoons to myself and my pups to care for their needs well as my own. I have a fenced yard and all my dogs are fairly apprehensive about new people and are mostly neutral about other dogs. Because of this, I won’t do in-home pet sitting.
“My mother was dog sitting while we went out of town. She was unable to walk Flora (our dog) due to medical issues. Hope was a great help to my Mother. She arrived on time. Communicated well with my mother. Walked and exercised Flora. We will use Hope again next time we travel.”

“Miranda is AMAZING! She is always on time and even takes Sammie for a little extra time. You can really tell she loves animals and is very caring and patient; being that Sammie is still a puppy! We really appreciate you, and Sam sure LOVES you :) Thank you, Miranda! ”

About: We have been around animals all our life since living on a small family dairy farm including 4-H as a kid. We can care for all types of animals. We can administrator shots and pills. I am currently working part time with a very flexible schedule. My husband is retired and loves animals as well. So your fur baby will get 2 for 1 as he also loves to care for animals too. Pets are less stressed and relax more when in their own home. While you are away you know your pets are being well cared for in their own environment.
About: I bring a lifetime of experience in caring for animals and live on 10 acres of wooded pastures with 3 horses, dogs, cats, and a house rabbit. My personal pack of four rescue dogs get along well with any new dog I introduce to the family. I have been fostering dogs for a local rescue organization for several years, gaining hands-on experience with many breeds and ages of dogs. I specialize in puppy care and training and have successfully provided basic training and care for numerous foster dogs. I have experience caring for elderly dogs and am skilled in giving medication and insulin. This is an all inclusive experience for dogs! Here your dog will enjoy plenty of supervised outdoor playtime in my private dog park which offers a peaceful setting away from any traffic noise. This is true farm privacy with a ten acre buffer and plenty of natural enrichment including a natural creek, pond, and wooded pastures. Dogs will have opportunities to participate in activities like sniff walks, barn exploring, and pack walks. For puppies I keep them on a schedule for potty training, socializing, and naps. Additionally, I have a dedicated small dog area and small dogs get to enjoy couch time in the evenings! All activities are included for the boarding price. If you desire an exit bath before your dog goes home please let me know. 🐾 I enjoy working on agility training with one of my dogs who is very athletic and to expand my training knowledge, I continue to work with local dog trainers. Beyond my work with animals, I raised two children and dedicated 18 years to volunteering in our local school district, where I passed multiple background checks and supported various programs and events in schools and classrooms. My property is quiet and away from any traffic yet located just a mile from a major highway making it easy to get to for drop off and pick up! I am home everyday and spend most of my time with the animals in my care. I am happy to be flexible on timing for drop off or pick up windows and can pop in for drop in visits to give you a helping hand. In my home pets will be fed twice a day and have off leash time to relax or play with friends. If they are crate trained they will have their own crate to retreat to and dog beds to rest on. My dogs enjoy meeting new friends and provide a comforting pack to show new dogs the ropes. Outside, I always work on name recall with new dogs on leash and when they get to know me they will have supervised off leash time. Additionally, your dog may enjoy a walk to our horse barn and discover a world of sensory enrichment for their nose! In your home I can play with and feed your kitty or your pups and provide any care they need and can feed on the schedule that you request.
“Samantha is so kind and patient with my dog, Rudy, who is having a very hard time with our move this year and became reactive towards most things. She walks Rudy regularly and is very communicative and helpful. Rudy adores her. 10/10”

“Jennifer and her daughter give my little Ripley great care. I feel like my girl is always so happy when I get home and I have the piece of mind that she was able to relieve herself and get loving and treats when I have to work longer days. Jennifer always leaves a nice rover card and cute pics when she leaves. So glad I found her!”

“Michael is punctual, a great communicator, and it’s obvious he loves animals. Meeko took to him right away and looked forward to his walks. He would fall asleep before Michael could pull away in his car! I HIGHLY recommend Michael and will definitely reach again should the need arise.”

“Stephanie was reliable and very thorough! It was such a relief to know my guy was well cared for and had some exercise while I was away on a stressful day. Can't thank her enough. I will definitely be using her again!”
About: Hi there! As a lifelong dog person, I have a lot of experience - I have cared for dogs weighing 8 to over 100lbs, and from 6 week old puppies to seniors. I am experienced in dogs with complex situations such as reactivity, fearfulness & timidness, and significant physical impairments. Currently, I own two rescue dogs - a 3 year old female German shepherd/malinois mix, and a 2 year old male Aussie who was born deaf & blind. So when I say the “hard to handle” pups are my speciality, I mean it! I would be happy to take your dog on a walk or local hike, to play outside with them, to work/train (my GSD/malinois girl requires regular scent work, agility, and intense variations on fetch to stay sane), or to simply give them affection. I don’t at all mind working with dogs that take time to win over, or that need extra TLC. All dogs are good dogs, and I can promise you that to me, they are all precious cargo - and will be handled as such in my care. I am a music teacher, and primarily work afternoons & evenings - so earlier in the day I have free time. I am also the mother of a young child, so am unavailable on weekends when he is home from school. I will adhere to strictly to instructions given (ie, your dog is crated or not, food allergies or sensitives to avoid, fears they have or the best ways to make them feel safe) and make sure above all else, they know I am someone they can look forward to seeing.
“Emily has done a few walks in the afternoons for our two pugs Earl and Opal. She is always on time and writes the best report cards after their walks, including pictures. She is very flexible and did not hesitate when we asked for some special treatment with our senior pug. She really seems to have a heart for dogs and we have been very happy with her!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
