“Amanda was gentle and warm with our rescue dog, Fiona. Fiona has separation anxiety, but was comfortable enough with Amanda for us to leave them alone. Amanda is a strong communicator and her love for animals is obviously a passion. Amanda is already scheduled for additional dates with Fiona. I can confidently recommend Amanda to care for your pet.”

“Jeannette is THE BEST! I was gone for 3 nights and felt at ease and comfortable having her stay at my home with Henry. She sent me pics every day, throughout the day, of their adventures. I’ve had others watch Henry, but Jeannette is BY FAR my number one choice from here on out. Selfishly I don’t want anyone else to hire her so that she can always be available for me (just kidding? Lol).”

“Cheryl stayed in our home with our active dog Kona while my husband and I were on vacation. We loved receiving pictures and updates of Kona while we were away. We returned home to a happy dog and beautifully well kept house. We are thrilled to have found Cheryl and would recommend her highly!”

“Chase was amazing! You can tell right away that he has a way with animals and puts a lot of care into making sure that you and they are comfortable. He sent regular updates with cute videos and pictures so that we could see what everyone was up to. I could tell that Benny had such a great time with him. I can’t recommend Chase enough!”

“Jessica was great with our large dog. We left for the Thanksgiving holiday and came back to a well taken care of pup and a clean home. I would 100% recommend Jessica to take care of your pets and home to everyone.”

About: Pet training is one of my many specialties, so if you have any puppies I will be more than happy to help you train them! I enjoy taking care of senior pets, giving them all the extra love and care that they need. If you are in need of someone to care and love your furry friends, please reach out to me. I have open availability! I’m currently working a part time in the city of Santa Barbara so I have lots of time to be able to spend with your pets and I hope to meet them soon. Pet care in my home is taken very seriously, as I own 5 cats I make sure all are well fed always hydrated and they have their own cat patio, all are kept safely indoors and partially outdoors. Cat litters are always maintained and kept clean. With dog care it’s also taken seriously I have two senior dogs whom I always make sure are being walked twice a day for only a limited of time as they are senior dogs too much walking can be bad on their joints, I also own a younger pup whom I take on daily walks/hikes and is trained from basic training to cool tricks. This not only describes how much I care for my dogs but also how extensive my care can go as well for yours pups and kitty’s.
“Ann was fantastic! She did an excellent job watching my dog Wally. She communicated extremely well, sent frequent picture updates, took Wally to the beach/park and kept my house clean. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and responsible sitter. Also, I could tell Wally had a great time while I was away!”

“Dario was a life saver!! He came through for us at the last minute when our other boarding arrangements fell through. He did a 10 day house sit for our 2 Frenchies while we were in Europe. We have a puppy that is experiencing some anxiety based behavioral issues and Dario was not deterred! He bathed them, clipped their nails, and made us feel comfortable with constant updates and pictures. Thank you Dario!!!”

About: Hi, I’m Anne, a lifelong animal lover with over 50 years of experience caring for everything from family cats & neighborhood dogs to fish, & more. I bring calm, loving energy to every home I enter, & animals of all kinds tend to relax with me right away. I grew up in a home where pets were part of the family, & I’ve cared for an entire range of creatures. I’ve always been the person neighbors & friends trusted to look after their pets and their homes, even back in high school. Today, I’m mom to two beloved cats: 6-year-old Loki and 20-year-old Zuzu. Caring for pets at every stage of life has made me patient, intuitive, & attuned to the subtle needs of seniors, sensitive animals, & high energy pets who need movement & engagement. I love to move & to be out doors, especially with a canine sweetheart. I’m active & playful, so walks & outdoor time are always a joy, but I’m equally comfortable offering quiet companionship to shy, elderly, or anxious pets. I keep homes tidy, houseplants thriving, & communication clear & consistent while you’re away. Whether your family includes small sweethearts or large loves, I provide dependable care, gentle presence, and genuine love. My goal is simple: your pets feel safe, understood, & at home. I’d be honored to care for your animal family. 🐾💛 I work, primarily from home, & have much flexibility. I do a lot of writing. Movement outdoors & time away from the screen or project, gives me time to process, think, & refine my creativity, even when my attention is on the trail, my animal companion, or the ball that must be thrown. Movement is essential for me, so bringing a dog along, or stopping to take one for a walk, brings value to my day in more ways than it would appear. I have a few appointments during the week. None are longer than 2 hours. I attentive to the animals needs & can provide a safe environment for them to thrive. Whether it’s grooming, play, or loving attention that’s needed, I am there for them. I understand the importance of structure, safety gates, & schedules, especially whenever medication is involved.
“Grace was an amazing dog sitter for us during our stay in Santa Barbara. It was our first time using Rover so we were not super prepared on our dog sitting directions, but she went above and beyond in asking us specific questions on the care of our dog and made sure to follow through on all directions that we’ve provided. She regularly sends updates of our dog and was quick to respond whenever we text her. We are very lucky to have Grace as our dog sitter and would recommend any dog parents to use her for their beloved pet(s).”

“Debra did a great job watching our senior dog (who needs some extra care) at our home. She arrived on time, left the house clean, and was quick to respond to messages. Thank you!”

About: Hi! My name is Hunter, and I’m a reliable, attentive pet sitter who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs, and I understand how important it is to keep their routines consistent. Whether it’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or just giving them attention and companionship, I try to make each visit feel as normal and stress-free as possible for your pet. I’m especially mindful of pets who may be a little more anxious or take time to warm up, and I’m happy to go at their pace. Outside of pet sitting, I come from a strong academic and healthcare background and will be starting medical school this year. That has helped me develop a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and communication. You can expect consistent updates, clear communication, and someone who takes your pet’s well-being seriously. I also lead an active lifestyle, so I’m happy to provide longer walks, playtime, and enrichment for high-energy dogs, while also being just as comfortable spending quiet time with more relaxed pets. Whether your pet needs exercise, companionship, or just someone dependable to check in, I’m here to help. I’d love to meet you and your pet and make sure you feel completely comfortable while you’re away! I work full time 8-430 usually so I am mostly available in the afternoons. Most weekends I am free and in town as I spend a lot of time at the beach playing volleyball! Your pets safety and care is my top priority. Nothing is more important to me than keeping your pet happy. I am also very respectful of other people's space and will make sure to keep your home clean and well taken care of.
“Grace was wonderful with my kitty Rory. Rory can be very shy and she warmed up to Grace so quickly which made me feel so much better about leaving her in Grace’s hands. Grace is a wonderful communicator and sent me so many pictures and videos throughout her stay - it was wonderful! Highly recommend Grace to watch any of you pets :)”

“Hannah was great to come watch my dog for an entire day when I didn’t have the chance to come back and check on her. She sent lots of photos and was very attentive to Pickles. Would definitely use her again”

About: I have had animals most of my life except during the years i traveled alot for work. I have had dogs, cats, and horses. My last two dogs were Daisy and Duke. Two energetic Jack Russell Terriers. We road tripped all over the West and spent lots of time chasing squirrels. While Duke met is maker 5 years ago, we lost "Sissy" last year at 18 1/2! I was fortunate to have two excellent folks to watch them in my home. i appreciate the sense of security it provides. I am an avid outdoors person so walks with me could be an outdoor adventure if your dog (s) are up for it! If trails and open spaces are options, I welcome that. If they are at the "stop and sniff" stage (as Daisy was the last year of her time on this earth), i totally get it and can adjust. While i did take both dogs to puppy school, i am not a formal dog trainer. I'm probably not the person to give animals shots as i find needles a challenge. I am okay having your dog (s) visit a bit at my place say if the plumber is coming over; however, not long term or over night. The only outdoor access is my patio. Great for sunnng but not for exploring. if i seem like a fit, text me or Rover Message me and we can work it out. PS I volunteer at a Therapeutic Riding Equestrian Center so horses are in my repertoire of care! I am retired so my schedule is super flexible. I do have volunteer and parental responsibilities but, with some notice, I may be able to tweak my schedule As mentioned earlier, I am your gal for watching the pets in your home. A few hours here and there in my place is okay if needed for service calls.
Eastside pet parents share their Rover experiences
Kendall was gracious enough to step in and care for our 8 mo old very excitable Kerry Blue Terrier puppy and our 9 mo old Maine coon kitten. These two have gone through very basic training and are still getting used to each other. They're a handful on any day. Kendall House-sat for us and took wonderful care of our two girls while we were out of town for two weeks. She did a wonderful job despite several challenges which she handled gracefully! I highly recommend Kendall!

Ava took care of our kitty and our house for 10 days while we were out of the country. We highly recommend her for pet sitting and house sitting. She made sure our kitty got her meds every day and was all around well cared for. The house was left spotless and in perfect order. We couldn’t be happier.

Hannah was amazing! Our toy Aussie, Cheyenne, loved her. She stayed in our home with him for 4 days, played with him, cuddled him and sent lots of pics. She loved him like her own! I highly recommend Hannah and will have her take care of Chey again without hesitation.

Monika recently watched our two dogs and our two rabbits while we were away. One of our dogs has a lot of fear around people he doesn't know and she was great with him and took her time to make sure he was comfortable. She kept in great contact with us and sent lots of great photos. She took our dogs on adventures and gave them lots of love. We were very very happy with the care that she gave our pups and bunnies and would highly recommend her!

Kapri has exceeded our expectations! It’s our first time using the Rover app. After countless of research and looking for local pet sitters, I came across Kapri’s profile and decided to meet up with her. She is an amazing individual who kept our mind at ease that our pets were going to be well taken care of before departing on our 2000 mile trip over the ocean. Kapri was efficient in her communication and provided updates that our pets were in good hands. We’ll definitely rebook any future services.

Chase took great care of our two dogs and our cat at our place while we were away on vacation. Our dogs are weary of strangers, but he really took the time to get to know them. It was a last minute booking, but he went out of his way in still making the time to meet and get to know our dogs and us in spite of our busy schedules. He had a very positive energy and a calm presence, which made us feel good that we were leaving them in good hands. While we were away, he kept our place clean and tidy. He respected our sensitive dogs’ boundaries and space, while still ensuring they were well-fed and taken care of. We appreciated the picture updates from him as well! We’re so thankful for Chase and would recommend him to anyone!
James and Aurora are awesome!!! They took such good care of our sweet little chihuahua mix, who can be a bit slow to warm up. But they were so patient and sweet with her and they bonded so well, which is a huge testament to how wonderful they both are with animals! James and Aurora were communicative and took great care of our place, too. I can’t recommend them enough!!!

Lana is nothing short of amazing. Our fur baby was so comfortable and calm with her. We were able to enjoy our wedding with our baby without having to worry about her. Lana was very responsive leading up to the agreed day and on the day of, she was punctual, professional and her experience is evident. Would definitely trust and book her again.
