“Jason is an excellent dog sitter, patient, kind and reliable. He encouraged our anxious, blind dog to go for walks, kept us informed of each visit and sent pictures. Our dog liked him and was happy when we got back.”

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for animals, starting at an age 12, I looked after small, medium, and large dogs, as well as parrots and fish. Family and neighbors have always trusted me with their pets because of my dedication and patience. Also, I provide a calm, one-on-one environment. My building has green areas downstairs for frequent potty breaks, ensuring your pet gets plenty of fresh air and personalized attention. As a student, I have a very organized routine. On Tuesdays and weekends, I am available all day for daycare. I’m Fridays, my pet care schedule starts at 3:00 PM, which is perfect for evening daycare or overnight stays. During these times, I am mostly at home studying, so your pet will have my full attention and frequent potty breaks in my building’s green areas! Safety is my top priority. In my apartment, I ensure all areas are dog-proofed and free of small objects. Since I live in a building, I always use a leash when taking pets downstairs to our private green areas to ensure they are safe and secure. I never leave pets unattended and I follow any feeding or medical instructions provided by the owners. I also love sending frequent photo updates so you can see your pet is happy and safe with me!

About: I have two years of experience caring for a senior dog and a young cat, so I understand that every pet has their own personality, energy level, and needs! I love making sure pets feel happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I’m also a full-time grad student with a flexible schedule and an active lifestyle. I love staying on the move, and I’m always looking for a furry walking buddy to help me hit my daily step goal! Who says we can’t both get our steps in? As a full-time grad student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to make plenty of time for your furry friends! I’m available seven days a week, with early mornings and mid-afternoons being especially convenient for me. That said, I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and accommodate other times whenever possible. Whether it’s a morning walk, midday check-in, or weekend visit, I’d love to help! I’ve cared for pets in different home environments, from houses with backyards to apartment buildings. I always make it a priority to respect your home, follow your pet’s usual routine, and ensure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away!
“I felt very comfortable going out of town and leaving my new cat in Kathy's care. He's very shy but she managed to see him. There was good communication and I found her to be very caring.”

About: I’ve dog and cat sat for family and friends for years, and they always have a great time with me, lots of play, cuddles, and love. I’m responsible, very clean, and respectful of boundaries as a guest in your home. I have two dogs of my own (a pit bull and a miniature schnauzer), so I understand different personalities and needs. I don’t play favorites, I love all pets! Pet care fits easily into my routine since I’m home often and flexible with my schedule. I make time each day for walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddles, so your pet always gets consistent attention and love. In my own home, I keep a safe, comfortable space where pets can relax and play, with my dogs for company if it’s a good match. In a client’s home, I follow their routines closely, keep everything clean, and double-check that doors and gates stay secure so pets can’t get out. Either way, every pet gets the same love, attention, and respect I’d give my own.
About: Hello! My name is Skyler and I am currently a mammal trainer at an AZA accredited aquarium with a background in veterinary care. I would love to help walk your dog, whether you have certain training goals or just needing extra help while you are at work! I started my career by walking my friend’s crazy, (but adorable) puppy in high school. I was able to help train the puppy during every walk, and left her tired out when her owner got home. I am off two of the busiest days of the week- Monday and Tuesday. I have full availability to do drop ins, daycare, or dog walks! I have an unfenced yard and plenty of grass out front. I take frequent trips to my local park that has tons of room to play.
About: I love spending time with all animals. They make the most wonderful companions. I feel I have a knack for connecting with all types and I try very hard to understand their unique personalities and needs. I work remotely, so I have a very flexible schedule for pet care , I have full availability. I genuinely enjoy being able to take care for your pets while I work. I love the companionship. I pay special attention to each animals, eating, play and walk schedule and try really hard to accommodate that. I like to make any transitions as easy as possible for them so your pets are at ease and happy.
“Janira took amazing care of my dog! She came three separate times and each time took him for a walk, played with him and sent a ton of pictures and updates. Highly recommend her and will definitely be asking her to watch my dog again in the future!”
About: I’ve always had a genuine love for animals and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I treat every pet in my care like they’re part of my own family, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and entertained while you’re away. I’m patient, attentive, and dependable, whether your pet loves long walks and playtime or would rather curl up for cuddles and belly rubs. I’m comfortable following specific feeding schedules, walking routines, crate routines, and other care instructions you provide. I also understand that puppies may need extra patience, consistency, frequent potty breaks, and lots of positive attention, while senior pets may need a slower pace, extra comfort, and a little more TLC. Most importantly, I know how hard it can be to leave your pet with someone new. My goal is to give your pet plenty of love and attention while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re being cared for by someone who truly cares. 🐾❤️ I currently have a very flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to give your pets the attention and care they deserve! 🐾 I’m available throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, and check-ins. Since my schedule isn’t tied to a traditional workday, I can be flexible with early mornings, daytime care, evenings, and weekends. Your pet won’t just be squeezed into my schedule—they’ll be an important part of my day! ❤️ Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my priority. 🐾 I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, boundaries, and any special instructions so I can provide care that feels familiar and comfortable to them. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I’ll keep their environment clean, secure, and stress-free. I’ll carefully follow feeding, walking, potty, crate, and medication instructions provided by you, and I’ll never force interaction with a pet who needs extra time or space to feel comfortable. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’m also respectful of your space and privacy. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, loved, and getting plenty of attention while you’re away. ❤️🐶🐱
About: In my early life, I had bunnies. I then got a bearded dragon when I was 15 and got my first dog in my senior year of high school. My first two pets were not traditional pets but taught me the responsibility of caring for one just the same. I have also worked with puppies and done obedience training with them. In addition, I have experience in adminstering medications I am very skilled with animals, and I've also been around cats and dogs my whole life as well as have 2 cats of my own. I'd be a trustworthy, reliable, and responsible sitter! I have experience with all sorts of dogs and cats, big and small, shy or outgoing, and even dogs or cats that have been rescued from tough backgrounds. Feel free to message me and I will try to get back as soon as possible! I work part time (usually Thursday-Sunday) as a bartender. I usually go in at around 7/8 pm, meaning I can make it for pet dinner time! During the day, I work from home so I have flexibility there. I would care for your pet in your home and follow any directions provided. I would keep the space the way it was when I arrrived and only access pet care areas.
“Samantha provided drop in visits for our 3 cats while we were away on vacation. She was super friendly, reliable and an excellent communicator. She was also accommodating to our specific requests and we were able to relax knowing that our cats and house were in amazing hands while we were away. We will not hesitate to book Samantha again in the future.”

“Jocelyn did a fantastic job with drop in visits for our cats Cacio and Pepe. She covered all their basic needs and favorite things on each visit. She even cleaned up when one of our cats got sick. Loved receiving photos each time she finished a check in! Would definitely book again in a heartbeat.”

I can’t say enough good things about Dimitri! Pepsi absolutely loves him and I always feel completely comfortable knowing she’s in his care. He’s reliable, genuinely loves dogs, and always follows her routine and care instructions. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone dependable and caring for their dog!
Sofia has done drop-in kitty visits for us two years in a row now for our week long summer vacation and did and excellent job with all of the details. We got daily pics, everything was kept clean, and our kitties were content when we returned. She was even able to accommodate a last-minute request to visit earlier on our day of return, which was a big help to us. Having someone as reliable and caring as Sofia really put our minds at ease so we could enjoy our time away.

I can’t recommend her enough! As a first-time dog sitter user, I was a little nervous, but she made the whole experience so easy and stress free. She’s kind, caring, and trustworthy. Benny is a huge fan too, which says it all! Highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing dog sitter.

Anita was absolutely wonderful with our cat, Mila, during her drop-in visits this past weekend. Mila is currently recovering from a tail injury and has to wear a cone, so we were especially nervous about leaving her, but Anita was incredibly attentive, patient, and caring throughout the entire stay. She went above and beyond what we booked her for — on Saturday she stayed extra time with Mila to make sure she was comfortable, and she even hand-fed her to encourage her to eat. It was clear from her updates that she genuinely cared about Mila’s wellbeing and comfort. Mila also clearly loved her and was excited to see her during the visits, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Anita provided detailed drop-in notes, great communication, and very clear photos after each visit, which we really appreciated. She also brought in our packages for us, which was such a thoughtful extra touch. We’re so grateful for the care and attention Anita gave Mila and would absolutely book her again. Highly recommend!

Micheal did such a wonderful dog with Daisy. The report cards let us know that walks were timely, a great length and loved that we could keep up with the photos he provided. Daisy is “newly” adopted and we are still learning her ways and with Micheal’s skills we could see how helpful he was with advancing Daisys own comprehension of commands. We will absolutely be using Micheal in the future as long as he’s not already fully booked.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
