I currently work evening shifts at my family’s restaurant in Darien, so I’m generally available for pet care during the mornings and afternoons, as well as some evenings. My work schedule does not interfere with housesitting, and I’m able to provide attentive care throughout the day and overnight. For walks and drop-in visits, I’m happy to work around my evening schedule and coordinate times that work best for you and your pet.

A typical day
My favorite way to spoil your dog while you’re away? Give them a fun, comfortable routine that feels like home! We’ll start the morning with a trip outside, followed by breakfast and a little time to relax before heading out for a nice walk—at least 30 minutes, weather and your dog’s needs permitting. If they still have energy afterward, we’ll have some playtime at home, or save it for later if they’re ready for a nap. I’ll make sure they always have plenty of fresh water throughout the day, stick to their usual feeding routine, and of course, we may indulge in a few of their favorite treats along the way! Most importantly, I’ll pay attention to your dog’s individual personality and energy level so they get the exercise, attention, and downtime they need.

I’ve cared for a wide variety of dogs and cats, including pit bulls, golden retrievers, poodles, senior dogs, and tabby cats. I’ve also cared for pets with medication and dietary needs, including both oral and injectable medications. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. Whether that means a long walk, plenty of play and attention, sticking closely to their feeding routine, or simply giving a nervous or senior pet some extra patience, I’m happy to adapt to their individual needs. I’ll keep you updated with how your pet is doing and treat your pet with the same care and attention I’d want for my own.

I can’t say enough good things about Dimitri! Pepsi absolutely loves him and I always feel completely comfortable knowing she’s in his care. I can’t recommend Dimitri enough! He took such amazing care of my cat while I was away for my wedding and honeymoon for three weeks, which gave me total peace of mind during such an important time. He followed all of my (very detailed!) instructions perfectly and made sure everything stayed consistent for my cat. One thing I especially appreciated was how he handled giving nightly medication, which had to be done in a very specific way—he managed it without any issues. He also sent regular photos and updates, which meant so much to us while we were away. It was clear from every update that my cat was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. If you’re looking for someone reliable, attentive, and genuinely great with animals, I highly recommend him!
Dimitri was outstanding when it came to watching our cat, Frodo, for 3 weeks while my wife and I were on our honeymoon. He was not only took care of our little guy, but he made sure to take care of our home as well and kept it tidy for when we got home. On top of that, he was prompt with all communication. He would answer calls and text messages whenever we sent them and gave us multiple updates on Frodo daily. He would even send pictures and videos of Frodo because he knew how much we missed him. The most important part was that Frodo needed to take medication daily, which isn't an easy task, and was able to get him to stay on routine without hassle or worry. I highly recommend Dimitri to watch any and all pets as he is responsible, caring, and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure your little one is taken care of.
