“Jayden is just fantastic. The dogs adore her, she’s prompt and a great communicator, and we don’t worry one bit when she’s here caring for the pets. Never hesitate to book with Jayden! Five star care all around.”

“Talia is absolutely wonderful! I was SO comfortable and confident with her watching my kitten. She provides lots of updates and communicates frequently; I can’t wait to use her services again, and I would highly recommend her to anyone!!”

“Mara was great! She kept us informed; the dogs really liked her, she was good at communicating, and spent a lot of time with our pups. They clearly liked her and were very balanced, and not upset with our leaving, when we returned.”

“Kim was absolutely wonderful with Doppler while we were out of town! She shared regular updates with photos and videos while we were away and really put our minds at ease. She seems extremely comfortable with dogs (even nervous ones!) and knew exactly how to keep our pup happy.”
“Liz was so easy and friendly to work with and I loved the updates and pictures she would send me throughout. I definitely will be reaching out to see if Liz is able to watch Max again!”

“Emily was great! We have a really young dog and a really old dog… with very different personalities. Emily did great with them! The house was in great shape when we got back and the pups were happy and healthy! She was a great communicator. Will definitely use her as a dog/housesitter in the future!”

“Tatum was great! She went above and beyond caring for our senior dog and house for the weekend. During our initial meeting, she asked questions and made me feel comfortable and confident that we'll be leaving our dog in caring hands. I very much appreciated the daily updates, including photos, and coming back to a well cared for pup and house. 100% would recommend Tatum to anyone!”

“Hannah was absolutely wonderful and we would highly recommend her! She stayed in our home with our dogs and cats, and took extra time and patience to ensure our senior rescue dog was comfortable and felt safe with her. Hannah provided updates and sent pictures during her stay and we returned to a clean home. We will definitely book her again in the future!”

“Gracie did a great job with our elderly dog who gets meds. Got regular updates and house was tidy when we returned home. We’ll be reaching out again next time we’re looking for a dog sitter!”

“Stacie stayed in touch with us and helped us navigate a fluid situation with the city doing some construction in front of our house and in our basement. She came up with helpful options so our dog wouldn’t be frightened of all the noise. She sent pictures and videos which we very much appreciated. It was so helpful to have her with our pets and looking out for their best interest.”

“We love Ashley! She does a fabulous job and really takes care of our high energy boy. She also sends lots of pictures and keeps this helicopter mom feeling relaxed!”

“She was here and took care of our dogs as promised! Left our home looking the same as we left it. No issues! Offered to stay a little later if we had issues getting home since the weather was getting bad when we were suppose to land. Would book with her again if she is available next time we need a sitter.”

“Anna was great. My cats seemed to be very comfortable with her. Even my scardey cat Luna. It was nice to know they had company and were being fed. I would definitely hire Anna again. The house was clean when we got home and the cats were happy to see us. Anna spoiled them perfectly! Thanks Anna!”

“Leah is an absolutely fantastic sitter! She has watched our boys a couple of times now, and we can't recommend her highly enough. Her communication is top notch, and we really love all the pictures and videos she sends. We hate leaving them, so getting those updates gives us such great peace of mind. What truly sets Leah apart is that she goes above and beyond. It's clear she genuinely cares and doesn't just do the bare minimum (she even helped clean up the yard, which was so appreciated!). If you want someone reliable who will take amazing care of your pets, Leah is your person. (Just please don't steal her away when we need her!)”

About: I’ve taken care of many different kinds of dogs since I was young. My family has a 14 year old Great Dane who I consider my baby. We have also had other smaller dogs such as a mini Aussie doodle and an Italian greyhound. I have been pet sitting dogs since I was in middle school and I always enjoyed spending time with every dog I met. I have a special place in my heart for senior dogs and I have experience with lifting and carrying very large senior dogs with difficulty jumping, as well as caring for dogs with sundowners. I’m also pretty good at getting most dogs to take their meds. I’m a college student so I mostly have evenings and weekends free. Getting a few hours in outside of my regular schedule is really helpful to me. I am very respectful of your space and I want to make sure the dog feels comfortable most of all. I will carefully read the list of tasks I’m left and make sure that everything gets done so that you can come back home with no concerns about your house or your pet.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Duluth is $45
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Duluth
Talia did an amazing job taking care of my shy cat (former barn kitty who is skittish with new people) while I was away from home for a few days. She came for a meet and greet beforehand, kept me updated throughout each day I was away, shared photos, asked questions, and went above and beyond basic tasks by taking care of house chores. She’s truly a caring person who knows how much fur babies are loved by their owners. It takes a wonderful person to understand and have patience with their little personalities and needs. I appreciate knowing my cat was in such caring hands while I was away!

Best experience EVER! Laken is the most caring, thoughtful dog sitter we’ve ever had. Sent daily photos on where she took my dog and was super understanding when our A/C broke and it was 87°. I can’t wait to leave on another trip just so I can book her. She’s absolutely wonderful. Bonus points: I came home to a clean house, watered plants and a happy dog

Ashley took excellent care of our dogs. One of our dogs is leash-reactive and Ashley immediately understood how to relate to him and support him. Ashley is clearly highly experienced with animal care, and she took care of our dogs like they were her own. We came home to a clean house and two relaxed, happy dogs. Would highly recommend!

Stacie was fantastic! She was flexible and helpful in supporting a slightly unusual situation for our newly adopted dog for a long booking. She sent updates and made Clover really comfortable. We came home to a happy pup! And my plants look great. Thanks Stacie!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Duluth walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Duluth maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Duluth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
