Dog walking has helped our dog Sadie loose weight. Sadie loves Liz. There are kisses, doggy tap dancing along with happy faces. I trust Liz. Any schedule changes are in advance and arranged mutually. I recommend Liz as a pet sitter.

About: Hello! I’m Erin, a full-time high school teacher and pet-sitter on the side. I’m an animal lover and I have been pet sitting for 10+ years. I have a ton of experience caring for a variety of dog breeds and cats, as well as a few smaller animals (rabbits, hamsters, birds, and fish). I’m calm, caring, and patient, with a soft spot for senior animals. I’ve had a great deal of experience caring for my own senior pets (both dogs and cats). I’ve provided care for animals with diapers, medication, and mild mobility issues. I’m also experienced in caring for diabetic cats and administering insulin, as I’ve helped two of my rescues go into remission. I strive to provide the best care possible for pets, and peace of mind for their owners! Please be aware that starting August 25th, I will be at work from 7:35 am-3:05 pm. I’m currently a full time as a high school teacher, so from 7:35-3:05 on week days, I’m usually at work. If I am pet sitting during the week, I head straight to the pets at the end of the work day. On weekends, I am able to dedicate most, if not all, of the day to spending time with your pets. This is also the case over the summer. I provide pet care in client’s homes, per the directions provided by the clients. Prior to caring for your pet(s), I ask that we arrange a time for me to meet your pet(s) and go over all pertinent information regarding their care and safety.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and am super comfortable around them. I currently work for an animal sanctuary with older dogs and soon to have a couple horses and one goat there. I worked as an animal welfare officer previously therefore, I have a lot of knowledge on animals and their breeds. I also had chickens and Guinea pigs. I used to have bearded dragons too! Many many years of experience handling animals :) I currently work full time for a First State Animal Center and SPCA at their brand new sanctuary for rehabilitating dogs, senior dogs to enjoy the end of their life, and will have horses and a goat there soon. I am available Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays all day. The rest of the week, I work 8am-6pm therefore, I can do evenings if needed after 6pm. I am more than willing to go to anyone’s house to pet/house sit or even just go to let them out or play/ feed them. I am willing to stay overnight for owner weekend trips if needed. Just need to let me know so I can arrange childcare for my son and also I have my full time job on Fridays and Sunday 8-6 but can be there after work if staying overnight! Also willing to pet sit any kind of pet!

About: I was raised around dogs since childhood, and have always been involved with animal rescue since I had my own place. We have dogs and cats of our own, and they enjoy having fluffy friends to play with as much as we do! I’m currently available during the day full time, and only work part-time at night. So there’s a lot of availability for either dog walks, emergency boarding needs, or doggy daycare options. We have a fenced in yard out back, and crate-and-rotate when needed. I am experienced in handling all behaviors of dogs, from the fearful/shy to the escape artist.

About: Hi everyone! I spent 10 wonderful years dog sitting in Myrtle Beach, SC for friends, family, and through Rover. I live in Delaware now with my boyfriend and our fur child, Willow :). I work from home during summer and winter months, and I am available for dog walking or hosting your dog in our home (as long as they get along with other dogs). If this sounds like a good fit, please reach out. I look forward to meeting you! I work from home during summer and winter months. I am home all day so my schedule is very flexible to care for your pet. Now that I have a dog of my own, I do not care for pets in clients' homes. But, caring for your pet in my home will involve the same love and care that I give to my own, in addition to anything special that he or she needs.

About: I have cared for cats for most of my life but 5 years ago my fiancé and I adopted my first dog. For the past 5 years, I’ve cared for my dog, Mary Jane, who has been my sweetest teacher in understanding dog behavior, routines, and communication. Through caring for her, I’ve gained hands-on experience with daily walking, feeding schedules, basic training reinforcement, administering simple medications, and creating a calm, consistent environment for a happy pup. I have also cared for many friends pets while they were away on vacation. I may be new to Rover, but I’m not new to being a responsible, attentive animal owner. Caring for animals is already woven into my daily rhythm. I work part-time with flexible hours, giving me plenty of space in my schedule for peaceful walks, playtime, and check-ins with pets. I’m used to creating a balanced routine around my own dog, and bringing that same calm, attentive energy to other pets feels completely natural. I am currently free to sit/walk any day of the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and familiar environment for them. I follow your routines exactly as you outline them — from feeding instructions to walk times to any training cues your dog is used to. I keep doors and gates secured, monitor their body language closely, and make sure they always have fresh water and a comfortable space to relax. Trust is extremely important to me, so I communicate clearly, send updates/photos, and treat your home with the same respect and care I treat your pet.

About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life - dogs and cats alike! I am located in Dover and I’m an active, outdoor oriented individual. I have 2 adopted kittens of my own who love to play! I have 5 years of experience and 3 years in the Charleston, SC area. I would love to help keep your pets safe and happy while you enjoy vacation or just to ensure they remain active while you’re away at work with walks and lots of play time! I enjoy going to the local county and state parks. I have wonderful references available upon request. I’m a online college student, so I have a lot of flexibility and availability in my daily schedule for walks, potty breaks, and general care. I live in an apartment with no other pets. There is a dog park in my “backyard” and there is safe walking areas all around the neighborhood.

About: I’m a college student who loves animals! I have previously worked as a veterinary technician. I have also taken animal science classes the last 7 years and have volunteered at multiple animal shelters. Please reach out to me about how I can help! I am a veterinary technician with the skills and availability to take care of your pets. My work days are flexible so I can accommodate nightly stays. My unwavering commitment to animal welfare is demonstrated through my active involvement in volunteering at two local shelters, where I've not only given my time but also gained valuable insights into diverse animal care needs. In addition to my academic and volunteer experiences, I've gained practical know-how at a local kennel, refining my skills in hands-on animal care and deepening my understanding of their well-being intricacies. I'm adept at handling large animals, a skill set I've honed through real-life practice and specialized training. A standout aspect of my expertise is the unique exposure gained through specialized zoo training. This experience has broadened my understanding of various animal species and their specific requirements, adding a distinct dimension to my skill set.

About: I have great experience being that I was a proud owner of a beautiful and intelligent pitbull/hound mix named Jay-Jay for 15 years. We grew up together but unfortunately he was called to heaven 3 years ago. My heart still has an empty vacancy ever since he has left but my love for dogs has unwavered! When I take care of my friends and co workers dogs I am always told I have a natural ability to connect and obtain quick trust! I am a medical student but am graduating in May so I have tons of free time to give to someone's fur baby :) Since I am graduating in May I do not have many clinical responsibilities or class requirements. I have the flexibility to take your fur baby out for walks and also play at home. I can also bring my laptop to complete tasks remotely if needed. I prefer to care for your pet while in your home since my apartment complex currently does not allow animals. However I feel that will make your furbaby feel even more comfortable and safe! I will not change anything in the environment and blend into the normal routine.

Obtaining the services of Stacey to walk my dog Mia was one of the best decisions I've made. Mia LOVES Stacey, and I love knowing that Mia is getting a level of exercise that I am unable to provide at this time. The photos of their time together is a fun bonus. I will definitely be using Stacey again and referring her to others.

  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
