“Cecily stayed with our 12 year old dog while my husband had surgery. We were nervous because our dog has separation anxiety but she warmed up to Cecily right away and enjoyed the day with her. I highly recommend Cecily!”

“Overly impressed with these two! You can tell they really love animals. They weren’t just in and out sitters. They spent amble time with my animals so I knew they were well taken care of while we were gone. They also sent daily pictures and a short summary of how my animals were each day. If we need someone for another trip out of town again I will look to use them again and would highly recommend to anyone looking!”
“Heaven stayed in our home with Cleo for 12 days. She’s great with communication and super friendly. Upon our arrival home, our house looked just as we had left it and Cleo laid in the bed Heaven slept in, clearly missing her! We highly recommend her!”

“Andrea is a gem. She is very attentive and is wonderful with Eli. She ensures that he gets his medicine and daily exercise. When she comes over he immediately brings her a toy which is a wonderful sign. Eli also loves her boys. She also takes great care of the house while we are away. Highly recommend her to take care of your special pet.”

“Kylie was a great sitter for our home & fur babies. She sent photos of them daily and answered promptly. We were looking for a permanent sitter for when we vacation and we found her!”

“Cyndi did a great job with our big boys. My wife and I almost felt bad that they didn't seem crazy excited to see us. She spent a lot of time with us before we went on vacation. I'm an over-protective doggy dad and my boys seemed very happy.”
“Alison is very prompt and reliable. She updated us with pictures of our pet. She does a remarkable job! Will definitely use her many times more. Give her a shot. You won’t be disappointed.”

“Mary was great! She accepted to look after our puppy with such short notice. I think Chai really enjoyed her company and we will definitely rebook!”

“Darci did an amazing job! We had total peace of mind while we were gone. She commicatef well and respected our dogs and our home! Certainly our favorite house sitter!”
About: Hi, I’m Haylie! Caring for pets has always been a passion of mine, and I treat every furry friend like part of my own family. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feedings, or just giving extra cuddles, I make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. Since I work from home, I have a very flexible schedule and can give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddle breaks easily fit into my routine, and I’m always close by to make sure they feel safe and cared for. Working from home allows me to provide reliable, consistent care and keep your pet’s day as happy and stress-free as possible. In my home, pets get the same love and care as if they were my own. I create a safe, comfortable space where they can relax and feel at home. Safety and comfort are my top priorities, so I always keep a close eye on them and give them lots of love, care, and companionship.
“Sidnee was more than a dog sitter for us! We had a few house issues arise while we were away and Sidnee helped us take care of the issues while we were out of town. She stayed at our house for 4 nights watching our two active dogs! She took great care of them and left the house just as clean. We appreciate Sidnee so much!”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was young, from dogs to cats, birds, reptiles, fish, small animals. I love animals and enjoy bonding with each of my clients pets. I have been pet sitting officially for 6 years now, and have returning clients year after year. I interned at a vet clinic and studied veterinary medicine for two years, so I am well versed in understanding animal behavior/needs. I volunteer at my local animal shelter so I am well experienced handling animals of different temperaments and personalities. I love all animals, so I am more than happy to provide pet sitting for pets outside of just cats and dogs. Like me, I am sure pets are your family. I want you to feel comfortable leaving your babies in my care, if you would like to meet me before scheduling anything, reach out and we can schedule something! I look forward to answering any questions you may have. I am a college student, graduating at the end of this year, but my schedule revolves around pet sitting. I stay at your house with your pets unless I have to leave for a small period of time. I have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I will have to leave the house for 3-4 hours on those days, but other than that I stay at your house all day and all night. I pet sit at your home, so I will follow the rules you have in place for taking care of your babies. I like to keep the same routine you have for your pets. My one request is that if you do not have a fenced in backyard, that you please leave a leash for the dog/dogs.
About: I got my first puppy when I was 8 and have been babysitting my sister's 3 dogs whenever she goes on vacation. I'm experienced in giving extra attention to one of her dogs that needs ointments for his allergies and bathing them when needed. Additionally, I'm comfortable handling various pet care tasks, from feeding and walking to playing and administering medications. My dedication to ensuring pets feel loved and well-cared-for sets me apart. I have three cats and one bunny I play with them 3-4 times a day before I go to work and after and feed them on a schedule every 2 days I administer an ointment medicine onto one of my cats eyes to help with his feline agenesis seeing and caring for them is my favorite part of the day I focus on feeding, exercise, and providing attention. I also handle any medication and grooming needs, making sure they feel safe and loved in their environment.
About: I have experience with all types of animals from small to large! I don’t remember a time in my life where we did not own and care for animals! I have cared for horses, goats, chickens, rodents, cats, and dogs. I have experience with animals with specials needs as I have a dog that has seizures, a diabetic cat, and a rescue who is very timid with humans; so I have a lot of understanding and patience with all animals. I can administer insulin and give oral medication to both dogs and cats if required. I am open to meeting you and your pet ahead of any care so that you can meet me and feel comfortable with me watching your beloved pets! Please feel free to message me if you have any questions. I currently work part time on the week days usually only 2-3 days a week and only between the hours of 8-5. My days rotate every other week In your home I can do any routine with your pet that you normally do. Scheduling feeding times, potty breaks, play time in the yard, medications, or anything else they may require. In my home I do have two dogs who love every dog they meet, and a cat who keeps to himself most of the time but does fine with other pets. They have all been around plenty of other animals. We do have a very well fenced back yard. Unfortunately at the moment I will probably not be taking in our home care as we our doing renovations so our house is a bit of a mess for guests.
“Stephanie was amazing! This was our first time leaving the pups for a week (one is only 5 months old and full of energy). She took excellent care of our babies while we were away. She sent us photos and videos of the pups with updates. She went above and beyond. Even gave my pup a bath before we got home. It’s not easy leaving your pups but we were at ease knowing they were being so well taken care of while we were away. So grateful we found her! Highly recommend!! Would love to have her watch our pups again!”

“Autumn responded immediately to watch my fur baby while I made an urgent trip to visit my Aunt in the hospital. When I first met her, I saw she was a genuine person who was happy to meet me and our puppy. I needed someone I could trust during a family emergency and her kindness took away a lot of the stress. She even asked about my Aunt. I can't thank her enough for responding to the call and providing the care we needed.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Doctors Inlet
Shelby is so professional, friendly, & communicative! Leaving our pets in such caring hands while we were gone allowed us to enjoy our mini vacay! Extras: the house was left clean, the animals were happy upon our return, medications were administered / recorded appropriately, and meeting Shelby at the meet n greet was so enjoyable!

Jaci is very sweet and you can tell how much she loves animals. She did a great job pet sitting our dog and cat for a weekend. Extremely reliable and I had no worries that she would do a good job! Before the scheduled pet sitting she came by for a long visit which was really nice. The animals got to meet her and become familiar with her. I will definitely use her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Doctors Inlet walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Doctors Inlet maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Doctors Inlet choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
