“We’re new to the area. First time with Sherri taking care of our fur babies. She did a great job. Went over and above to make them feel comfortable. Will definitely book with her again.”

About: I've been around dogs and cats all my life, I've dog-sat for my grandparent's, family, and neighbors, I love being around animals and caring for them and its important for me to build a trusting connection with any pet. I also have some light experience with grooming and moderate with bathing both cats and medium-large dogs, I always consider an animals feelings and body language before and durning walking, bathing, or play. It's important that a pet knows I am friendly, trusting, and will always treat them with love and affection. I know very basic training in dogs like basic commands and easy tricks such as not pulling on a leash, waiting/staying on command, sitting, basic recall, and rolling over. I would like to say that im pretty knowledgeable when it comes to cat behavior as well, im less knowledgeable in dog behavior but still have much knowledge and know what traits and behaviors to look for in certain situations. I'm very passionate when it comes to animals and I can promise you that you're baby would be in very good hands under my care, you can even call me at any time to check in i dont mind at all. I'm currently unemployed and have much free time, I'm very excited to start walking and sitting and hope this will become my main job. I'll be able to come whenever im needed unless stated otherwise and I always answer the phone and messages as quickly as possible. I have a park/walkway walking distance from my home thats an easy 15 to 20 minute walk and goes in a circle so it can be walked for longer if wanted or needed, i have three cats inside but they will go onto the padeo when your pup or cat comes to stay. I give much attention to pets and watch their behavior and body language very closely but i prefer not to sit older or senior pets, my family and friends trust me with their pets and I've pet-sat many times. It's very important to me that any cat or dog feels safe and comfortable with me so trust building is a must. Dogs and cats usually seem very comfortable with me and most times are drawn to me so i hope your pet feels the same way.
“Karen was always on time and did a great job taken care of our fur baby. He enjoyed his time with her and was always happy and content. We would recommend Karen anytime and look forward to booking her again in the future. Thank you for doing such a great job.”

What you can expect: • Regular photo updates • Reliable communication • Structured care based on your dog’s routine • Experience with multiple dogs and high-energy breeds I work full time from home with a big fenced in yard. This allows me time to go on daily walks as well as play in the backyard or give your pet some free roaming time outside in the fenced yard. I have a miniature schnauzer that loves friends and 2 pre-teens that are homeschooled and love to cuddle with animals all day. I have a big fenced yard and I live in a neighborhood with sidewalks. We do daily walks and lots of free time out in the backyard playing fetch or just relaxing. Pets are allowed on the furniture so they can snuggle with us when we’re on the couch and sleep with us at night. We have a miniature schnauzer dog that loves playing with new friends.

Feel free to reach out and I can let you know my availability! I have a fully fenced back yard, and a pretty spacious home. About: I absolutely adore every breed and personality! I have a special place in my heart for brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds like French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boston Terriers. With my veterinary technician background, I’m very familiar with their unique needs, including breathing concerns, heat sensitivity, skin care, and medication management. Whether your dog is a playful puppy, a senior who needs a little extra TLC, or has medical needs requiring medications or special monitoring, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. As a wife, proud mama to my baby girl, and pet mom to 10 cats and 5 dogs, caring for others is simply who I am. My days are full, but they revolve around the things I love most—family and animals. Pet sitting isn’t just a side job for me; it’s an extension of my everyday life. With 10 years of experience as a veterinary technician, I’m used to managing feeding schedules, medications, special needs, playtime, and lots of cuddles. Caring for multiple pets every day has taught me how to stay organized, dependable, and attentive to each animal’s unique personality and routine. When you trust me with your pets, you’re trusting someone who truly understands that they are family. I know how important it is to have peace of mind while you’re away, and I’ll care for your furry family with the same love, patience, and dedication that I give my own every single day. Whether your pet stays in my home or I care for them in yours, my goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I have a fenced-in backyard where pets can enjoy supervised outdoor time, play, and fresh air in a secure environment. My home is truly animal-friendly. My cats and dogs are all used to being around other animals and have friendly personalities. I understand that every pet is different, and I am fully able to separate my animals from visiting pets when needed to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe.

I have two dogs of my own, so I’m very comfortable with the day-to-day care, attention, and responsibility that comes with having pets. I have also dog-sat for a family in my neighborhood, caring for their dog and two cats while they were on vacation. I would visit their home to feed the pets, make sure they were comfortable, and take their dog for a walk each evening. I’m around other people’s dogs often as well and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals! I currently work about 2–3 days a week, so my schedule is fairly flexible. I’m available most evenings after 7 PM for nighttime walks, and I’m also available most weekends. I’m happy to work with your schedule and make sure your pet gets the care, attention, and exercise they need! “Lauren was great! She gave my cat her pills everyday (which can be tricky!) while also checking on the water and food levels. She went above (in my opinion) by cleaning up a mess one of my little monsters made. I really appreciated everything she did!”

About: I have cared for dogs since the age of 13 from small dogs such as Yorkies and Westies to black Labradors to Golden Retrievers. Pets in our family are treated as family members and get the best care possible, from lots of attention and exercise, to calm spaces to lounge during nap time to a fenced backyard for sitting in the sun and chewing a stick. I am very active so if your pet needs several long walks throughout the day, I am more than obliged to accommodate. I’m treating this as my full-time job and as a labor of love. If your pet stays with me, I want to build your trust and become a trusted pet sitter you can come to time and again whenever you are out of town or need your dog attended to. This is loving household with an extremely lovable and kind almost 6 year old Golden Retriever named Rudy. I am the only person who will be caring for your pet with love and dedication while you are away. I hope you will consider me as your choice to watch your treasured companion and I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! I am a full-time stay at home mom, so I am home all day everyday. I have a 5.5 year old kind and loving neutered Golden Retriever that is a part of our family. I have two children that are 11 and 13 and love animals as much as me. There are always multiple people at home to shower your pet with love and attention. Making pets feel seen and appreciated is a priority for me. Lots of walks and outdoor time in addition to our fenced backyard is crucial. I have a fenced backyard and a pet Golden Retriever to keep your fur baby company while you are away. I don’t mind sending daily pics and text updates on how your pet is doing if so requested. I consider pets to be members of the family and deserve the best care possible. I care about all animals and their well-being and happiness is my priority. From the time I was young, my family always had dogs and I always was the child that gladly took care of and walked the dogs. I am very active and would give your dog whatever care was requested to make sure their stay was amazing while you are gone.
About: I have worked with animals of all ages, breed, and size for over 9 years now. From shelter work, to doggy daycare, grooming, and now training, I’ve done just about it all! I would love to spend time with your fur babies and treat them like my own. I have tons of toys, enrichment activities, and fun training games to keep them busy and maybe even teach them a new trick or two. I have grooming supplies so if you need a bath, brush, or nail trim, I’m your girl! I am currently at home full time so I have plenty of time to spend with your fur kids! I love to stay active so going on walks or trips to the park will be so much fun! I would love to give your pets whatever attention they may need. Whether that means going on walks around the neighborhood, doing mental games and tricks to help tire them out, or snuggling with them on the couch for a bit. I am always going on “field trips” with my training dogs, to the park, stores, or restaurants and it’s very likely your pup will take a trip or 2 with me if they’re staying for a while! Disclaimer: The dogs in my care do sleep in crates (Ruffland kennels provided by me with comfy beds) and will get crate naps during the day as well. We leave the house almost daily to go to the park or on trips to the store/coffee shops and they are crated for safety in my car as well.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
