“Nick and Melissa are excellent sitters! They watched our dog and cat while we were gone for the holidays. They provided regular updates and pictures, great communication, and are fair on pricing. I highly recommend and we will use them again! 😊”

“Colleen was amazing with our two dogs and we couldn't have been happier with the care she gave them in our home while we were gone. She was very loving she was with them, played with them and gave them daily walks. I loved how communicative she was and she sent the cutest pictures of them everyday. Our dogs were very comfortable with her and that gave us such great peace of mind. We will absolutely use her again! Thanks so much Colleen!”

About: I have taken care of dogs, cats and I have had guinea pigs in my past as well. I have handled pets with all sorts of personalities and enjoy finding what they need to feel comfortable while you are away. Whether it is walking them daily or giving them medicine and even taking them to the vet if needed. I have done it all. I do currently work part time for a local pool. However, my schedule is really flexible and can be made to fit whatever is needed to make the pets feel comfortable. I have 3 small dogs at home which is why I can't have pets at my home as well as a family with a busy schedule. I have done everything from give medicine, follow strict diet and food instructions. I have also have had to take a golden retriever to the vet after his stitches came out while I was watching him due to him messing with the wound.

“Cecily was a phenomenal sitter! Great communication, sent photo and video updates and took very good care of my house while I was away. The pups were very happy in her care. I will definitely use her again next time!”

About: I have had dogs all of my life, which eventually led to my first job at a doggy daycare and boarding facility for 2 1/2 years. After going to college, I started working at an animal shelter, where my passion for animal care grew. I moved from Georgia to Tennessee with 2 cats and a diploma and continued to gain more experience working at a veterinary clinic and an animal ER. I have experience with all breeds and all ages of pets and am attending vet school next year. I would love to care for your fur babies! I am available all days of the week for drop ins, walks, or overnight stays. Whatever works best for you and your pet works best for me! Caring for an animal in the comfort of their own home is my preferred approach. It is easier for the animal to stick to their routine rather than be in a new place without their family.
“Morgan recently held down our pet-centered "fort" for four days. Before our departure date, Morgan came by (arriving on time!) for a tour and run-through of our pets' behaviors, meal times, and idiosyncrasies. She took copious notes, asked a lot of questions and was clearly comfortable with the crew. We left feeling very comfortable that our kids were in great hands. Morgan did not disappoint! She was magnificent! She kept us informed of what our two cats and Rhodesian Ridgeback were up to, how meal times were going, etc. She frequently sent photos, which enhanced our sense that all were having no problem with a new person in the house. Without question, we will schedule Morgan for future pet sitting !! A 5-star caretaker!!!”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Pickles! From the moment we connected, she was communicative, professional, and kind. While we were away, she sent regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear Pickles was happy, well-cared for, and getting plenty of love and attention. We came home to a calm and content pup, and our home was just as we left it. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Samantha again—she’s a fantastic sitter and someone you can truly trust with your pet. Highly recommend!”

About: I got my first puppy when I was 8 and have been babysitting my sister's 3 dogs whenever she goes on vacation. I'm experienced in giving extra attention to one of her dogs that needs ointments for his allergies and bathing them when needed. Additionally, I'm comfortable handling various pet care tasks, from feeding and walking to playing and administering medications. My dedication to ensuring pets feel loved and well-cared-for sets me apart. I have three cats and one bunny I play with them 3-4 times a day before I go to work and after and feed them on a schedule every 2 days I administer an ointment medicine onto one of my cats eyes to help with his feline agenesis seeing and caring for them is my favorite part of the day I focus on feeding, exercise, and providing attention. I also handle any medication and grooming needs, making sure they feel safe and loved in their environment.
About: I’ve had dogs for my entire life both big and small. I’ve also volunteered at the SAFE dog shelter for about 6 months. I absolutely love all animals but especially dogs! I work full time so I’m looking to walk/house sit on night and weekends. I could use my lunch break at work to tend to the dogs needs. I’m extremely fun and playful so I would just follow your wishes of how you wanted your dog to be taken care of. I also enjoy taking walks.

About: I’ve had pets ever since I was 8. Everything ranging from lizards, bunnies, chinchillas, dogs, cats. All were well taken care of. I am pretty knowledgeable with pet behavior and animals like me so I’d say that’s a plus as well. I currently have a puppy, so I usually work with him daily to train him and make sure he has everything he needs. I also take care of 3 other pets along with him daily. I have a fenced in yard. I have two dogs, and a cat that are friendly with other pets. I make sure all pet needs are met before leaving a client's house.
About: A cat owner for many years, I will help keep your fur babies safe while you are away! I have had cats in my home since I was born, and have 2 of my own!! I have two friendly cats to keep your fur baby company and I have a screened in patio for some outside time if needed!! Can’t wait to work with you!

“Kaitlyn stayed at our home with our two dogs for a long weekend and we were very pleased. At the meet and greet she asked good questions and sent messages while we were away. We returned home to a clean place and happy dogs. Will use her again.”

“It’s been hard to find a pet sitter that truly cares but we hit the jackpot with Julia! She took great care of our fur babies, house and sent plenty of photos. She takes pride in making sure she treats our pets like her own and we are forever grateful!”

“Alison is very prompt and reliable. She updated us with pictures of our pet. She does a remarkable job! Will definitely use her many times more. Give her a shot. You won’t be disappointed.”

“If you’re looking for someone you can trust 100% and not worry if your little boy or girl is being taking care of then book Stacey. She is wonderful and keeps you informed the whole time. Once you book her once you will never want to look again. I will be filling up her schedule!”

“Andrea is absolutely wonderful. She is very sweet and caring. She took great care of our Eli, and Eli loves her. She sent plenty of pictures and assured us that Eli was doing good. Andrea also took good care of our house and left it as she found it. She even waited until we were home with Eli before leaving. I would highly recommend her to look after your special pet.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fleming Island
Morgan did a great job house sitting with our two dogs and one cat! She scheduled a visit with us prior to booking to meet everyone, learn their routine and where things are, and she asked great questions and took lots of notes. While we were away, she stayed in contact and sent regular updates and photos. She was patient with our pets’ needs as one of our dogs is older and the other can be a little picky! And Morgan was even able to bond a little with our cat who does not like most people. She left our housing looking like no one had even been there. Overall, we were very please with the experience working with Morgan!

Shelby is so professional, friendly, & communicative! Leaving our pets in such caring hands while we were gone allowed us to enjoy our mini vacay! Extras: the house was left clean, the animals were happy upon our return, medications were administered / recorded appropriately, and meeting Shelby at the meet n greet was so enjoyable!

This was my first time using Rover and it was last minute - we had to go out of town and couldn’t take our two Shih Tzus. I noticed John was new to Rover and only had one review, so I messaged him because I could tell from his photos that he was kind and genuinely loves animals. He responded right away that he was available and suggested a meet a greet. He came over that night and agreed to watch our dogs in our home for a week. I just immediately felt comfortable with him. He’s such a very sincere and sweet soul. We went over the girl’s schedules and I’m a very picky mom who cooks for her dogs. John made notes and made me feel it was his pleasure to help even though I felt bad about it being so last minute and I know how much I asked him to do. John was amazing with my girls. He was incredibly responsive and sent pictures and updates, he even put my Amazon packages in my room for me and straightened up our home before we got back. He took such great care of our girls - I would recommend John to anyone as a sitter. He is a wonderful young man and so respectful and well mannered. We are so grateful we found him! We will be using him again he feels like part of our family now ☺️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fleming Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fleming Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fleming Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
