“Darci was amazing! She was extremely flexible and accommodating. She treated our animals and our home with kindness and respect. We felt 100% comfortable on our weekend get away and that peace of mind is priceless. We will certainly be booking her again!!! If your debating on an in home sitter this is the one!!”
“We had Maria stay with our pups on three different days while we were in Key Largo so we could go to the national parks. She was very sweet and patient with them and took them for walks and played with them. It was great not to have to worry about them while we were gone. We felt they were in very good hands. We would highly recommend Maria!”

“Teresa was absolutely fabulous!! From the first meeting our two dogs and our senior cat adored her and were completely at ease. It made our trip away so much more fun because we didn't worry about our fur kids. Teresa sent us pictures several times a day and kept me updated on me dosages. She also noticed strange behavior from our cat that will warrant a vet visit so I'm very thankful for that! Teresa even cleaned up and washed the sheets and remade the bed! We will definitely book Teresa next time we need a sitter and I hope she'll be available!!! Don't hesitate to contact her for your pet sitting, she is outstanding!”
“Morgan did a great job house sitting with our two dogs and one cat! She scheduled a visit with us prior to booking to meet everyone, learn their routine and where things are, and she asked great questions and took lots of notes. While we were away, she stayed in contact and sent regular updates and photos. She was patient with our pets’ needs as one of our dogs is older and the other can be a little picky! And Morgan was even able to bond a little with our cat who does not like most people. She left our housing looking like no one had even been there. Overall, we were very please with the experience working with Morgan!”

“Taylor was so amazing with watching both of our dogs! She stayed at our house and sent multiple pictures and updates every day. Our dogs are both very energetic and need lots of playtime and exercise and Taylor definitely delivered! She walked them and played with them outside and treated them like her own dogs. If you’re looking for a reliable sitter who will love your dogs like your own, look no further than Taylor!!”

“Very pleased with the 2 weeks that she watched our 70 pound 9 month old puppy. Our return flights were 2 days late and she was very flexible and accommodated our needs. Several people in our neighborhood said they frequently saw her taking our dog for a walk and all seemed going well. She frequently sent updates and pictures.”

“Bianca was super responsive and sweet! She took great care of my 2 kitties and my elder baby :) Even handled an unexpected potty accident! OMG! Thank you!! The house was in perfect condition when we came back as well. Great experience”

“Jeri did a wonderful job with our two puppers. We were at ease knowing she was taking great care of them. We especially appreciated all of the updates, pictures and videos. We highly recommend Jeri and look forward to working with her again!”

“Laura did a great job with our dog. It was her first time with a dog sitter, but Laura was gentle and patient with her and gave her excellent care. She sent lots of good pictures and updates, too!”

“Carrie is the best dog sitter we have ever had! We haven’t left our dog for an extended time in six years. She took excellent care of our girl and took away our worries. She is wonderful and I highly recommend her!!”

“Sarah is our families go-to when it comes watching our two dogs. We prefer to have someone stay at our house with them and she is always willing and able as long as she’s not booked! Love her and trust her to oth our house and pups!”

“Joyce was awesome. She was kind enough to come very early in the morning and stay with my pupster. She communicated very well, sent updates and was absolutely a rock star in caring for my Boston Terrier. Additionally, my dog loved Joyce as soon as she walked in the door and honestly, I trust my dog’s opinion about people 100%. Would absolutely recommend Joyce to care for your fur-babies!”

“Mary was great! She provided great updates and pictures of my dog! My dog was well taken care of. I will definitely ask her to take care of my dog again!!”

“Jules was great! We used her for day sitting our dog since we were going to be gone most of the day. She gave me updates, took a picture and provided feedback on how/what he was doing.”

About: My love for animals began at a very early age. I grew up with a Poodle, Doberman, Boxer, Rottweiler, a couple cats, turtles and fish. I helped my grandfather care for his aviary with over 300 birds from canaries to chickens. I started riding horses at the age of 6 and learned about horse care. When I was 13 I fostered my first new born kitten. Over the years my husband and I have had 3 dogs and a cat together. I enjoy helping my friends and neighbors with their pets (young to senior) whenever they need. I feel I have a special calm nature that makes it easy for me to connect with animals. I also LOVE going on walks. I'm currently a stay at home mom of 2 (ages 9&11) and have lots of time to take care of your pets. I love to go on walks. My availability is very open. I love playing with both cats and dogs making sure they get the stimulation they need. When at a clients home I am respectful of their property and make sure to follow all instructions to a tee. If I have any questions or concerns I contact the client right away to address them. I'm currently a stay at home mom of 2 (ages 9&11) and have lots of time to take care of your pets. Definitely recommend Laura for your pet sitting needs. Very communicative with updates and photos during a recent booking. Always felt that my dogs (and cat) were in great hands while I was away. They may have even been a little sad to see me walking through the door instead of her.

Kaitlyn was a blessing in disguise! Our fur babies were spoiled while we were gone! Everything went well and she shared daily pics of the fur babies smiling ear to ear. Very satisfied with her services and would recommend her to care for your babies while you’re gone.

There aren’t enough stars in our universe to give Melissa a proper review. She is a true blessing from God. I knew from the second she gracefully walked in our home God sent us an angel to watch over our babies. As a matter of fact, it was all 3 of our pets that instantly bonded with her, on her first visit. Melissa has impeccable attention to details. She took tremendous great care of all our pets while we were away for almost 3 weeks! She provided photos and recaps every single day. To a T. More importantly, we could see the happiness in our babies eyes from the photos how happy they were in Melissa’s care. Like they say “a picture speaks 1000 words.” This alone is the greatest comfort and relief and worry free feeling you can have on a vacation, which is priceless. In addition, Melissa took care of our pool, yard, flowers and everything! Even things we didn’t ask for. She treated our home like it was hers. It was such a joy to come back home and all our flowers healthy and everything looked like the day we left. My wife and I are both incredibly grateful for Melissa and Rover. We really look forward in having Melissa in our home again soon. Good is great. ALL THE TIME.

Casey is amazing! We needed a sitter for our new puppy and our senior dog last minute and she provided nothing but the best care. Our routine was followed to the tee and we came home to happy doggos. She sent pictures and kept us updated - such a win since this our first time using rover and leaving our fur babies with someone else. She is a top notch sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fruit Cove on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,492 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fruit Cove. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fruit Cove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fruit Cove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fruit Cove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fruit Cove. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
