“Rebecca is wonderful. She helped us last minute when we needed it and took care of our two pups. One of our dogs is recovering from a surgery and Rebecca did a great job managing his meds and the physical therapy he needed daily. I would 10/10 recommend her and look forward to working with her again the in future.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a kid. I have always had pets growing up, and more recently have started dog sitting. I work full time and am very much so busy, but willing to make any changes to my schedule to fit anything that pops up! I am comfortable walking and caring for any size dog. I can take care of daily needs for any dog including brushing, feeding, and playing

About: Hi, my name is Chelsea. I grew up with animals, one of my mother's dogs is currently 13 years old, and her older dog who was recently put down, who was my first dog ever. I have dog-sat for lots of people in the past, and I also have experience with deaf dogs. I have a 7 year old energetic Catahoula named Benny and he has had some medical difficulties in the past, but he has gotten better. I fall in love with every dog I meet and love them like they are my own; which means lots of pets, cuddles, walks, kisses and attention. I also have a cat, so an extra friend or two to look after is no big deal to me!
About: I have been a pet owner my whole life including dogs, cats, rabbit, gerbils, and more. I started volunteering when I was 12 at my local humane society, where I would sit with dogs to comfort them while they wait for their forever home. While I was in college I also started to foster, I fostered 3 cats and a dog over several months. Since I have always had pets, I have helped train puppies, and with senior animal medical care. I have also worked with special needs/trauma (ex. epileptic, male aggression, previous owners abuse, anxiety). I have house sat for my parents, extended family, and family friends. I am looking forwards to cherishing your furbabies, their new best friend awaits! I have just moved back to the states after living in Europe with my partner. We are starting a new chapter and I want to use rover as a way to make money and to help us save for our next steps. It would be my main focus, in my very flexible schedule. As such I will be available for your pet's needs anytime and anywhere. I have worked with all kinds of animals with different needs and will be able to provide whatever you and your pet(s) require. I am fun-loving and friendly, with a huge soft-spot for any animal. My approach centers around trust-building with your pet, making sure they feel comfortable and safe. I'm willing to visit your house multiple times a day and entertain your prescious babies, walk them multiple times, stay the night if necessary. I can take them to dog parks if they like that, parks if not. Your pet will barely notice that you are absent (besides missing their wonderful parent/s)!
About: Hi there! I’ve had both dogs and cats in my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for animals is truly something I love. Whether it’s tossing a ball at the park or just hanging out for some cuddle time, I always make sure pets in my care get plenty of attention, exercise, and love. This my full time job so you pets are my priority. I will make sure they don't feel lonely, get plenty of attention, walks, and of course treats. I am a military veteran and am trustworthy, honest, and punctual! I will always be there if I say i will. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
“First time using a sitting app service. Emma was absolutely fantastic. She went above & beyond to make our Cooper feel comfortable. Very communicative. Lots of pics & videos to keep us in touch.”

“Francis was great! Our 2 cats were happy and healthy when we got home after being gone for over a week. She was also great at responding to texts, and left our home pretty much exactly as we had left it. She is super sweet and will definitely recommend her to take care of your critters.”

“Brynn was absolutely fantastic and very communicative. She gave us the best updates while we were away. She did the best job making sure Cosmo had all his needs taken care of and he really seemed to have bonded with her. I cant say anything but amazing things about her and we will definitely be booking with her in the future!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover since I was 10 years old, and let’s just say my life has been a little bit of a zoo — and I wouldn’t have it any other way\! Over the years, I’ve been a proud mom to dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, geckos, ducks, chickens, and even roosters\. Yes, roosters\! If you’ve ever dealt with one, you know they have BIG personalities and absolutely no respect for sleeping in\! I’m also a proud rescue animal mom\. I have a special place in my heart for animals who need a little extra love, patience, and understanding\. From cuddly couch potatoes to independent cats with CEO\-level attitudes, I’ve experienced all kinds of personalities\. I understand that every animal is different\. Some want endless affection, some need extra patience, and others would prefer you simply refill their food bowl and mind your business\! **What my years of experience have taught me:** - Patience, compassion, and respect for every animal’s personality\. - The importance of routines, feeding schedules, and a safe environment\. - How to recognize when an animal needs attention, comfort, or personal space\. - That rescue animals sometimes need a little extra time to build trust\. - That animals are family, not just pets\. I take pet care seriously, even if I occasionally have full conversations with animals who clearly aren’t listening\. **Bottom line:** I’ve loved animals most of my life, rescued them, raised them, cleaned up after them, and been completely outsmarted by a few of them\. Your pets will be treated like family — spoiled with love, respected for their quirks, and cared for like they’re my own\. **I’ve handled roosters with attitude\. Your cat doesn’t scare me\!** 😹 I currently work part time pet sitting. I’m flexible, friendly and have a soft spot for rescued animals. I squeeze them, and love them and call them George 😀 I offer love, intuition, intelligence, and will treat your pet like my own. Communication is very important to me, and Mutual Trust. Getting my steps in everyday with a pet friend by my side = a Beautiful day ☀️

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Crompton
Two years ago we had the great luck of coming across Dina here on the Rover app. I’ve lost track as to how many times we have worked with her at this point but she has been absolutely amazing! We have a large breed dog with a high separation anxiety that has gotten better with extensive training but due to these issues, we could not utilize a kennel and are oddly glad at this point that we don’t! Our dog hates crates, is very strong willed, and we quickly learned that crates could not adequately contain him. We realized that a sitter was the best and only remaining option with him so here we are. Our dog is friendly but can be a bit stand-offish to people. This has not been the case with Dina and the warm caring relationship she immediately established with him! The pictures of him snuggling and resting peacefully while we are away are amazing! Dina is prompt in her service. She communicates clearly and takes care of our lug as if he was her own. Thank you for being a true professional, Dina! The peace of mind you provide is far better than we’d hoped for! You are the BEST!! 10/10!!!

Haylie was hands down the best sitter we have every worked with! She was extremely thorough, professional, and so loving to our beagle, border collie, and three parrots. She followed every instruction to a T and even went above and beyond to take the trash out / clean up the place before we came back from our vacation. We were so worried after moving away from Providence that it would be harder to find good sitters, but Haylie is a god-send! She sent us many updates about each of the pets daily and we had no worries in the slightest while on our vacation! Will definitely book with her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost of House Sitting in Crompton is $72 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $40 and $133 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.
As of November 2026, there are 1,483 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Crompton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crompton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crompton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crompton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Crompton. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
