“Jean was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We are pretty picky with who we trust our fur baby with and we definitely felt like she was in very capable hands! Couldn’t recommend more highly!”

About: I have lived with, raised, and cared for multiple dogs at once for my entire life. I have grown up with retrievers, shibas, Rhodesian ridgebacks, and all manner of rescues. As a dog sitter, I have walked, played with, and done multi-day overnights with all kinds of canines, from timid greyhounds to rambunctious collies. I lead an active lifestyle and take my shiba for at least three 2-mile walks each day, plus weekend hikes and trips to the dog park. I am a freelance writer, so I have a very flexible schedule. The highlight of my day is walking my dog and, ideally, meeting new dogs along the way. I feel like Rover is the perfect way to spend time with dogs and help their time-pressed owners. I will follow any and all instructions left by the owners. I always keep dogs leashed, prevent them from eating foreign objects, and otherwise prioritize their safety at all times.
“Lou is absolutely amazing with our pack (3 pups and a cat) and we can tell how much our furbabies love her by how content they are when we get home. This is our second time having Lou sit for us and we will 100% keep using her services. Amazing sitter!!!”

“Gianna is amazing. She saved us when we were out of town and desperate to find a replacement sitter. She took such great care of our dogs and our house was spotless when we came home. Would 100% book with her again.”

“Sarah and Mason took great care of our dog and two cats. When we arrived home after a week-long work trip, we arrived to find a lovely note letting us know when our dog was walked last, and when the animals were fed. Not only that the house was a clean as we left it and all the animals were super-happy. We will definitely use them again!!”

“Rayna did an incredible job with my dog, Lucy!! She asked how many updates I wanted on Lucy while I was away and I told her there was no limit, and she delivered the most fun photos and updates! Lucy clearly felt so comfortable with Rayna! I will absolutely be booking again.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 8 years and have experience both independently and through a professional dog walking company. I grew up with two dogs of my own and have cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. I’m comfortable administering oral medications, caring for puppies and senior dogs, and following detailed care instructions. Whether your pup needs a long walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight care, I’ll treat them like family and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I currently work part-time only two days a week, so I have a very flexible schedule and am available throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays whenever possible. Since I only work a couple of days each week, I can dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, daycare, boarding, or overnight care, I’ll make sure they receive the love, exercise, and attention they deserve. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine and carefully follow all feeding schedules, medication instructions, potty breaks, exercise needs, and any special requests you have. I always make sure pets have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a calm, loving environment. I’ll keep you updated with lots of photos and messages throughout the day so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“Grace did a fabulous job with the dogs (they can be a handful!) and did a nice job communicating status updates with us along the way. House was also in good shape when we returned.”

“tl;dr: Julia is the GREATEST. She was super communicative and my cat loved her + very much appreciated the care he needed post-dental procedure! Our sweet kitty, Leo, had a dental issue that meant that he had to get some teeth extracted and I got pulled on a work trip the day of the procedure so we needed someone to hang out with our little guy for a couple days. Julia swooped in and hung out with Leo while he was recovering. She clearly is experienced with giving meds to cats and reading kitty behavior. Would 100000% work with Julia again.”

“Another great job by Carissa caring for Harley while my husband were away for several days. The photos she shares with us are great. We can tell Harley is very happy! We were able to relax knowing Harley was in very good hands! Thanks again Carissa! 😊🐶”

“Jonathan took fantastic care of both our dog, Winston, and our house! I would highly recommend him as a pet/house sitter. He took Winston on very long walks, sent daily photos and updates, and kept us informed on Winston's well-being during our absence. We knew Winston was well cared for, and therefore we had no concerns while we were away. Jonathan gave us peace of mind that our "baby" was just fine.”

“We are visiting the area with our 2 dogs. I’m so happy I found Maya to stayed with them while we went out to dinner. She is very sweet and knows how to handle any dog size and personality. She gain their trust quickly and played a lot with our very active GSP. We will book her again in a couple of days.”

“First time using a sitting app service. Emma was absolutely fantastic. She went above & beyond to make our Cooper feel comfortable. Very communicative. Lots of pics & videos to keep us in touch.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cowesett
Gianna was so wonderful watching Murphy while I was away. He’s a very senior dog and she was nothing but so sweet and caring with him. She stayed with him overnight at my mom’s house and was such a joy to work with. I really appreciate her taking such great care of my old guy!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kharma stayed with this sitter for two weeks, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I received daily updates, photos, and messages, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Kharma was well cared for, engaged, and having a great time. He enjoyed plenty of outdoor time, socialization, and activities, and the sitter followed all of my instructions carefully. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and they were always responsive, dependable, and professional. This has become my most trusted and frequently used sitter because of their reliability and consistency. Knowing that Kharma is safe, happy, and cared for as if he were their own makes all the difference. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter and will absolutely continue booking with them in the future. 🐾❤️

Haylie was hands down the best sitter we have every worked with! She was extremely thorough, professional, and so loving to our beagle, border collie, and three parrots. She followed every instruction to a T and even went above and beyond to take the trash out / clean up the place before we came back from our vacation. We were so worried after moving away from Providence that it would be harder to find good sitters, but Haylie is a god-send! She sent us many updates about each of the pets daily and we had no worries in the slightest while on our vacation! Will definitely book with her again.

Jasmine was absolutely amazing! We were so grateful to have her stay at our house with our two pups while we were gone for the weekend. She went above and beyond, sent plenty of updates and the pups loved her! We already booked her for another weekend, I highly highly recommend!!

Tanya is amazing! She took the best care of my two pups over a two-week house sit. She kept the dogs on their routine and gave them lots of steps, play time, and snuggles. She sent tons of photos so we never worried, and was super responsive to all communications. She is responsible, reliable, and has a truly gifted way with animals! Our dogs were calm and content when we came home, so we knew they were comfortable with her. We will definitely ask her to sit for us again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Cowesett on Rover is $111 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,540 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cowesett. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cowesett walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cowesett maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cowesett choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
