She was very helpful accommodating when the timing of my plans changed and I was confident that my cats were well cared for while I was away. I will definitely request Nancy’s services again in the future!”

About: I’ve been caring for my family rescue pitbull for 10 years. This experience has provided me experience with bigger dogs, senior dogs, and dogs that are reactive and prefer to avoid other dogs on walks. Dogs and cats bring me immense joy, and my goal is to be such love and care to the pets, but also respect to the pet and their owners. Looking forward to working with you all! I’m currently a master’s student, who has a few days off a week! My schedule will become even more free with my academic winter and summer break! I can check on your pets in the am, mid day, and evening! While taking care of pets in others homes, I will be sure to respect the owner's boundaries. I will never touch anything in the house that is off limits. I will be attentive with your dogs needs and give them love.

“Amber took care of our cat and plants while we were away. Totoro was well-fed, the litter box was clean, and everything was in order when we returned. We appreciated their reliability and knowing our cat was in good hands. Thank you for your help!”

About: I've had pets all my life, primarily dogs. I've been the loving human for a 17-year-old Chiweenie -- my chill, fur daughter, Coco -- since she was a pup. I've also cared for pets and house sat for several friends and family over the years. With so many years of pet parenting behind me, I'll approach caring for your dog as if they were my own. I live quite an active lifestyle, so I'm happy to take your dog for long walks or jogs, depending on your dog's ability and your preferences. I can also just visit and pay them as much attention as they need. I enjoy travel with purpose, so I can house sit and/or care for your pet while I'm visiting your area. I have an in-person job now, so if your request fits within my schedule and your pet can be alone from morning until the afternoon, then we can make it work! Just let me know your unique situation and requirements. I'll do my best to cater your pet care experience to fit all your needs! I can arrange time to care for your pets during the day, evening or on weekends, depending on what I have going on. I have a regular in-person job now, so my daytime hours are limited. I may be able to do early mornings; otherwise, late afternoons and evenings will work best during the week. I typically have weekends open. If your pet can be on its own for a few hours, from morning until the afternoon on weekdays, we can make it work! I like to get the full run down of your dog's needs, temperament, eating habits, favorite activities and toys, potty schedule, physical limitations and anything else you think will help me provide the best care for your pet. I also think it would be a good idea for your dog to meet me in person for an initial intro if that fits into your time frame.
About: I have worked at 2 dog facilities, The Meadows Canine Camp in Santa Rosa and I currently work at the Milo Foundation where I walk and adopt out dogs. I currently have a foster named Grayson (boxer) who is good with small dogs. I love animals and I am very qualified to take care of your pet while you are away. Cant wait to meet them! I work at the Milo Foundation in point Richmond Wednesday-Sunday. Your dog would need to be ok for 8hrs alone on those days or if they are small I can take them with me to work. Before and after work would be dedicated time spent with your pet and I am off on Mondays and Tuesdays. While walking, your pets safety is my number one priority and I will make sure to walk in areas deemed appropriate by clients. Having dogs of my own, I understand the importance on keeping them safe when out. I also like to use a harnesses when walking to avoid a dogs collar slipping and possibility of getting loose.
“We were so grateful to have Deborah take care of our two cats for the holiday break! She was very responsive, detailed, and flexible for anything that came up during the week. We would definitely recommend her services!”

About: I have had pets all my life and have a special way with many animals. From tiring out restless pups through play so they can settle in their doghouses, to gaining the trust of the sassiest cats, my patience and kindness towards all animals has gained me the favor of friends and family to care for their pets. I am currently a full time student, so my availability throughout the week can vary. Despite this I find myself to have my afternoons and evenings mostly free. Additionally, my weekends will be free most weeks. In a cliients home, I would do my best to respect the environment and the pets space. Not surprising the pet or adjusting things from their usual place, like food or water bowls, to show I am not here to change pet routines but just to help them along. Additionally, gaining trust on walks and setting firm boundaries with the pet to keep myself and the pet safe when out and about.
About: I live in Hercules (East Bay) and only do IN HOME CARE for dogs and sometimes cats. I've found there is less stress if they stay in their own familiar surroundings with your smells; especially if they are blind or deaf or have elderly med needs.. I also give medications and understand senior dog needs. My small Chihuahua SOPHIE comes with me and gets along with everyone. I am semi-retired and will attend to all your instructions, sleep with your baby if that is what is required. I specialize in small dogs but will consider anything, especially if you are in a bind and need someone ASAP. Call me and let's discuss your needs! Thank you. I'm semi-retired and usually available. I am happy to take your dog to dog parks. Sophie and I go on long walks everyday, sometimes twice. We are active. We will follow your schedule. I've great references for in-home care which is all I do now. I also keep the house clean and will do laundry or other needs while I am there. Long or short stays, just let me know what you need. I've background checks that are stellar, never any incident. I am a professional.
“Andrea really helped me a lot with her check-ins. She was punctual, helped clean up Neohs area, and kept him happy the entire time she was here. Will definitely be using her future doggy care!”

“Adam was amazing with Sammy! He sent us reports and pictures of his visits every time and let us know Sammy took his medication well with him. Sammy was a little shy at first but they were buddies after a few days. We will definitely hire Adam again when we need someone to take care of Sammy in the future.”

About: Use MARTHR02340 code for your first booking !! I'm super reliable, very patient and attentive when left in care of your fur babies I like to chill and lounge on the couch with them or go on long walks or spend time at the park P.s will follow special instructions if there is any needed to follow :)) For days that I have available for pet sittings I like to know if they will have a schedule to follow or not so I usually go by that but I have most days off with just gardening to do or stuff to do around the house/lounging or hiking/ running errands. I make sure to keep any toys, food or medication nearby. I’m comfortable caring for pets that may need more attention than others or that may be more independent.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Crockett
Thea has been cat sitting for my family for 2-3 years on Rover, whenever we go out of town. When we come home, the cats are always perfectly taken care of, and just mildly annoyed and dramatic, as you’d expect cats to be :) Thea is always super responsive and we trust her completely in our home.

My cat has never been as affectionate and comfortable with any other sitter as she was with Amber. It was amazing to see how much my cat immediately trusted her! Additionally, I had a home emergency while I was out that Amber helped me handle. She's really great at her job?

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
