About: I’ve had pets all my life and have worked as a nutritionist at a holistic pet store for close to 4 years. I love animals and I love interacting with them! He was a Golden/Lab/St. Bernard with a lot of anxiety and a huge love of food. Experience (in general): listed 28 years as I've closely helped family members since ~at least~ 8 yrs of age. My sitting history mostly includes requests to house/dog sit for friends and family members over the years (both in their home or in mine). The "official" dog sitting experience is less, as this is my first time creating a professional sitting profile and I am excited to start work with people outside of my circle! :) I only marked the days I am off work completely as my available dates. These are the days in which I can provide the best/full attention care. I can provide care on work days, as long as you are okay with me working around my work schedule (ie. early mornings/evenings or nights). Otherwise... I will take necessary precautions to keep your animal safe and cared for. I have a yard with no fence and would keep them on a leash while taking them out or on walks. If while in the country on family property, as long as we both feel comfortable with it and your dog's behavior, leash wearing is whatever you prefer. I will of course put them back on if I feel the need to. Although I'm easy going, I'm also a reliable and responsible person with common sense and enough experience with my own animals to properly care for your pet. I will always do what's needed in any situation to protect your pet and keep them safe. After knowing an animal longer and understanding their behavior/tendencies, sure, I can ease up some - but will always take more precautions at first while I am still getting to know them. And again, in any case, it's whatever you are comfortable with and would like. Details can be discussed and figured out along the way. For example, if your animal gets uncomfortable in unknown places - I am more than happy to come to you and care for them in your home! If they need this medicine at this time, you've got it! If they do better when you take them for a 45 min walk and then snuggle them for an hour, sure! If you need them to eat these specific things, at these specific times, and anything else you may need - just chat it out. I'm sure we can work the details out - and if not, I'll just say no and ask that you find another sitter who may suit you and your needs better. We'll figure it out.

Ky was wonderful with our dog and cat and clearly built a genuine bond with both of them over the course of our trip. We were especially nervous about finding someone new for our dog because she can be territorial and reactive with new people, but Ky handled her confidently and quickly learned how to redirect her energy. By the end of the week, our dog was cuddling with her, waiting by the door for her, and clearly very comfortable around her. Ky was also very respectful of our extremely shy cat and let her warm up at her own pace. By the end of the stay, our cat was actually coming out while Ky was there, which says a lot. Communication was a major strength. We received very detailed updates and lots of photos throughout the week, and Ky regularly spent extra time playing with our dog, giving her attention, and making sure both pets were cared for. Overall our pets were happy and clearly very comfortable with Ky. We really appreciated the care and attention she gave them.

Joshua is the best. My dog can be super protective but the two of them clicked immediately, feeding off Joshua's energy and dog-expertise. My kitty is nervous in her own ways but I always coming back knowing that she felt safe with his presence as well.
