I have had dogs, cats, fish, lizards (and more!) in the home with me since childhood and have always been a huge lover of animals, including my two "krakens" (kittens) that I have currently that are the highlight of my days. I am a firm believer in our pets being cherished members of our family, and we should care for them as such! Beyond the fuzzy friends I have in my own house, I have loved on and cared for animals for 10+ years for family, friends and neighbors, with most experience relating to dog walking, in-house pet sitting and a specialization in senior animal care. I've had both elderly dogs and cats in my care as lifelong pets, as well as specializing care for folks with senior animals in regards to medication, assistance with transportation, and any other special needs necessary for proper care. Lastly, I am an adventurer through and through, and I also enjoy taking pets who enjoy the great outdoors on safe, preplanned and thoroughly supervised excursions with me. Whether that be a day hike, a scenic drive or summertime dip in a river -- it's always a blast!

Safety, trust & environment
We are all about prioritizing pet health, safety and comfortability around here. I am happy to adjust the plan as needed to ensure your fuzzy friend has a great time while under my care, whether on a walk or during an in-home care visit. Any excursions, whether a day hike or a dog park trip, will be planned and discussed with the owner in advance! I drive a Subaru Crosstrek with a doggy seat belt and hammock in the back seat for transportation safety when needed.

Skyla was an absolutely wonderful canine caregiver. She adapted to our dog’s schedule, sent us regular updates and photos, and even deftly navigated through a couple of unexpected curveballs that popped up. We knew our pups were happy and being well-cared for, so that was one fewer thing we had to worry about while we were out of town. We would not hesitate to use Skyla again for future trips!

Schedule
I have lots of time during both week days and weekends to hang out with your buddies and an incredibly flexible schedule depending on needs and demand! Always happy to troubleshoot and find a schedule that works excellently for everyone involved.

- Aside from basic medical and personal information (allergens, dislikes, etc), I like to know the personality and characteristics of the animal prior to sitting them. A basic description or information on the dog or cat can say a lot in a small amount of words. This can be something small like their favorite toy, to larger aspects of the animal like what frightens them. I do not have any specific breed preferences, and I have been able to handle large dogs before, but please keep in mind I am a 5'6 and can only hold back so much weight!
