I work part-time right here on the property in 60-90 minute increments. I have plenty of time to spend with some beloved pets. Often the pets that are in my care follow me around the different rooms that I spend time in and lay down next to or on me.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a cozy three bedroom two-story house with my workspace immediately behind. Owner preference dictates whether or not pets will be allowed on furniture, but there are many nice spaces to relax. I am happy to utilize crates and any other routines but do not require them. I only work part time and spend the majority of the time here on the property. I love to engage with animals, cuddle, play, brush, practice training, and unless the animal does not enjoy it, I cannot resist massaging pets as a career licensed massage therapist. I have a very large fenced in yard with a mature garden that is generally unaffected by hosting pets. I have created a very level lawn and there is a large track that dogs love to run where they can sprint without any holes or rocks to step in or on. I use a leash to go between the door and fenced yard for dogs. Things in my life have changed recently and I very much miss animal time. These days I am unable to go for walks, be dynamic with play or handle a leash if there is any tugging but I can toss a toy and inspire play/yard running. I am very much in tune with any animals in my care and I’m committed to keeping them safe, protected and in their routines that keep them feeling grounded and happy. I believe that draining mental and physical energy keeps animals happy. At your house, I am happy to follow all of your rules and routines. I adore plants and I’m happy to provide care for those as well. I am flexible and real, so I always try to be accommodating within reason.

Information Rosa J. would like to know about your pet
Most of my sitting work has been with animals that have separation anxiety, are fearful, or can get very disregulated when their routines are interrupted. I am open to all instructions and animals owners’ way of training down to the language used. I can’t promise I’ll be perfect, but I will always give it 100%. I do tend to work well with work breeds, but I like all the dogs. Doing sitting versus rescuing means usually that dogs are well trained and I can be a lot like a pet grandparent and just really enjoy them. I like to spoil with commitment to routines and affection when it’s appropriate versus rewarding unwanted behaviors, or treats for no reason.
A typical day
We will share our routines together, for dogs after meeting their needs, in place of a super long walk I will take them in the yard and drain energy with whatever play suits them, I tend to have a pretty structured drain energy-do some training-then meal time. There will be cuddling, brushing if they tolerate it, massaging, and I really love to stimulate dogs mentally. Sometimes people send their puzzles and games and it is so fun. For cats, it will be largely the same except for taking them out into the yard. I like to constantly refresh water and I will reread any instructions given to make sure that we stay in your routines. I end up doing a lot of cooking and baking when I’m pet sitting because it kind of keeps them engaged and they seem to enjoy it also. I don’t generally have people over and keep a pretty peaceful existence at home.

Good at putting animals at ease
Pet care experience
My early childhood was on a farm with about eight different types of animals. After the farm, we had a series of work dogs with advanced training, an Amazon parrot, and many other birds and cats over the years. I have rescued, rehabilitated and rehoused a dozen dogs, I have raised many wonderful animals over the years, but I am currently missing pet time since I lost my darling and aged cat last summer. I am a career licensed massage therapist, and have a knack for instantly connecting with animals as well and as putting them at ease. I have a lot of experience pet and housesitting. All of my clients that had me stay at their house thanked me at length for how clean, fresh smelling and tidy I left their homes. I am happy to accommodate household practices. I have experience with special needs, administering medications, and always enjoy brushing, petting and massaging. I’m usually pretty good at pilling. I love to play with animals as appropriate for their health and well-being. Very much adhere to any language, training practices, schedule, and diet requested by the owner. My goal is always to have you returning to a very happy, healthy animal. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to walk dogs or take a lot of stairs. I work part-time from home so I am always around. I have a very large fenced in backyard. I am happy to host mature dogs here and also visit or stay at your place to facilitate the best environment for your beloved pets.

Reviews

Rosa is a fantastic house sitter and cat sitter. She went above and beyond to care for my cat and take care of my home. I felt at ease the whole time I was away.

Rosa was a wonderful dog sitter and great communicator. My pup was so safe and happy in her care. Thank you Rosa!!!

We know our dogs enjoyed their stay, they came back happy and sleepy! Rosa was very communicative and great with multiple dogs.

Rosa is lovely. She communicates well, asks great questions about how to make your pet most comfortable, and has a kind, calming demeanor. My dog was able to stay at her place for daycare for two days and by the second he was excited to see her immediately after we parked. Would certainly have her pet sit my pup again.
