“Chloe was great! Our pups warmed up to her nicely. She was very responsive to texts and sent lots of pictures. She was also flexible when I had to adjust the day our housekeeper was coming. I would definitely work with Chloe again.”

“Had a wonderful first experience with Cathy! She was attentive, caring, and always made sure to communicate. My cat needed eye drops 3 times a day due to an infection and she did an excellent job caring for my baby. I would highly recommend Cathy!! I can’t say how much I appreciate her being so flexible and accommodating for my pets needs. Thank you Cathy you are amazing!!!”

“Alicia is a dream come true pet sitter. These little fur balls are our everything and she treated them as if they were own. We went out on a day trip knowing they were well taken care of. She sent several pictures which made us feel even better. We will definitely be using Alicia again. Thank you Alicia 😊”

“Always love using Emily to watch our pup. She is amazing with communication and we can tell she truly loves pet sitting! We have started booking trips around her availability so we can keep getting the best service.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets since high school and bring decades of hands‑on experience with cats and dogs of all sizes. I’ve cared for puppies/kittens, seniors, given diabetes shots, changed diapers, and handled everything from Sheepdogs to Chihuahuas. I have two small, friendly dogs, a senior cat, and a fully fenced backyard. If your pet is dog‑and cat‑friendly, I’m happy to host them short‑ or long‑term. I truly love animals of all kinds. I am happy to come over and check on your baby, take them for a walk (or stroll), throw a ball or play light flashing, or even daycare for them at my home. I work from home all but two days a week and can modify that as needed. My job is flexible so I am able to take breaks and work my around your schedule. I have a fenced in yard and am able to care for your baby as needed. My job is flexible so I am able to take breaks and work my around your schedule.
“So so happy Taylor was able to watch Java for over 2 weeks. This has been our longest trip away and he's an anxious dog. I'm happy with all the updates Taylor provided and providing comfort for him while we were gone. Will def be using her again!”

About: I had three miniature dachshunds until they all eventually passed away from old age. I treated them as if they were children. I am very in tune with an animal’s needs and emotions. Animals that I have never met before, usually take to me right away. When I cared for my father-in-law’s dog for two weeks, he did not want to return home with him….lol. I hate to see any animal suffer or be in danger. I go as far to remove turtles from the road so that they do not get hit and I have tried to save numerous injured birds in the wild. Animals, especially, dogs, provide so much unconditional love. I am a retired law enforcement officer. Thus, I have a lot of availability. I am available Sunday-Saturday 24 hours as long as I am provided at least a short notice. I have a fenced in back yard that I always ensure is securely locked at all times. I would pet proof home ensure no medications or cleaning products, etc are accessible to pets. Also, I would only feed what the owner wanted the pet to be fed.
“Amber always takes the best care of our dogs! They love her like she’s family and look forward to her visits. She also is great at taking care of the house and mail. We can be away and feel secure knowing that she is there.”

“I have a 4 1/2 year old chihuahua who is my baby. Besides her spay surgery I’ve never left her overnight. I had to leave her this past weekend. I accidentally found Matt because I forgot to change my address after a recent move. Thank goodness I did! After the meet and greet Cammie was ready to go home with him! Dogs know good people so I knew I found the right sitter. Matt took such good care of her and sent me the cutest pics of my sweet baby girl. Thank you so much Matt! I will be using you again!!”

“Chelsie was great with our 3 doggies for 5 days. I was nervous to leave my 6 month old puppy for the first time. However, my puppy and my other 2 dogs did great while we were away. Chelsie was respectful to our house and everything was clean and in order when we returned home. She communicated with me frequently and that made me feel at ease. I would definitely have Chelsie take care of my 3 doggies again.”

“Angie was great from start to finish! My dog loved her instantly. Angie asked great questions before and during her stay. My home was in mint condition upon our return and dog was worn out from all of the attention he received from Angie. We will definitely request her next time too!”

About: Hi I’m Liz and I absolutely love animals! When I was younger I was always wanting to help out any animal I could find. I grew up with cats and a dog but once I got married my husband was allergic to cats so I never got to own my own cat. But I foster dogs on the side! I don’t work with any agencies, I just help certain life or death situations or senior pups who were denied proper care. I currently own 7 dogs ranging from all ages puppy to senior. I also own what most people call “difficult” breeds Akitas, Shibas, huskies, German Shepherds, Pomeranians, and Samoyed! I have a few puppies in training at my house and would love to share my knowledge of dogs with others! If you have training questions I’d love to help you and get you on the right track! I can’t wait to meet your pup! I’m currently working full time but I get off at 3-4pm each day and I am off Saturday and Sunday. I have a lot of wiggle room and would love to accommodate any way I can! I want to care for your pet in the same manner you do! I want your pet to feel like I am a second care human they are close and comfortable with. I will follow your instructions to a “T” so they aren’t left missing you too much! Right now I will only be offering your home for services but maybe some day mine as well :)
“Mylissa did an amazing job. Great communication, easy to work with, and our dogs loved her. She is someone you can really trust. We will definitely work with her again in the future.”
About: Attention to detail and a love of dogs and cats that i have grown up or had since I was a child. This is a passion of mine. This is my full time job and career. My sister and I started pet sitting in the 90's and have started back up when I made this my full time job after my wifes open heart surgery in 2024. Now my wife and daughter help me run and work the business. I care for my pets by providing as loving atmosphere of play healthy foods and quality care with our vet as needed. This the same for our Pug or 3 cats
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud dog parent. I have hands-on experience caring for a reactive dog, which has taught me patience, awareness, and how to read canine body language. I understand that every dog has unique needs and comfort levels, and I strive to provide a safe, calm, and loving environment for each pet in my care. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I’ll make sure they receive the attention and care they deserve while you’re away. Pet care is a part of my daily routine as I care for my own dog every day. I prioritize walks, feeding, playtime, enrichment activities, and monitoring behavior and well-being. Having a reactive dog has taught me patience, consistency, and the importance of providing a safe and structured environment tailored to each pet’s individual needs. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I take time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs to help them feel comfortable and secure. In my home or a client’s home, I maintain a clean, pet-friendly environment, closely supervise pets, follow feeding and medication instructions carefully, and provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and affection. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Coal Mountain
Kate was absolutely amazing! She took great care of our two dogs, cat, and fish, and went above and beyond especially in taking loving care of our cat through a sudden and ultimately tragic illness that transpired while our family was thousands of miles away on vacation, showing tremendous empathy and diligence in taking him in to the emergency vet and being with him through it. I recommend Kate without hesitation!

Words cannot say enough about how awesome Kristine is. In one chance selection of sitter off of Rover which I haven’t needed in quite some time, we have not only gained a trusted sitter for our fur baby, but a trusted friend as well. Kristine was not only the most amazing with our Ellie, but handled plumbing issues, changes in schedules and all the other unexpected things we threw her way! 10/10 is not enough to say how great she truly is. Absolutely, do not look any further for someone to trust your babies and your home too!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Coal Mountain walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Coal Mountain maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Coal Mountain choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
