“Tiara went above and beyond for us and our cat! In addition to providing our cat with care and attention, she helped us deal with an unexpected food delivery and she was even able to add on another last minute visit when we had to extend our trip because of flight delays. Reliable may be an understatement 🙂”

“Melinda was excellent watching my 2 pups! She was on time - showed up when she said she would and stayed the amount of time stated! She took very good care of my pups - including my 14 year old Abby. She took time to throw the frisbee to my full of energy 3year old Winston. I would definitely use her again and highly recommend!”

About: I am primarily on this app to be of service to our dog training clients when they go out of town. I am sometimes available to take other pets, but not always. I understand that each animal has their own personality and quirks. I am able to care for pets of any age. I have experience administering medications as well. I work full time at a dog training facility. I spend most of my free time taking care of animals. I am able to bring pups to work with me during the day, so I can potty and let them run around on my breaks throughout the day. I will either bring your pup to my house or go to yours! Whatever your preference is. I do have two dogs of my own, both are friendly to all different types of pets. We also have a cat, so my dogs know how to behave around them (not chasing, bothering, etc.) As I mentioned above, I work at a training facility and will be able to bring your pup to work with me instead of them being home alone during the day. I have lots of experience crate training dogs, and can help continue or start that training for you.
“Great sitter!!! Emily came to our rescue in such short notice. She spent all the time with our dog and we could tell that she is comfortable with animals. We will definitely use her again. Thank you!”

“Elisabeth was amazing! This is the first time I had ever hired a pet sitter & it was such an awesome experience thanks to Elisabeth! She allowed me to enjoy my trip stress-free because of her thorough updates & pictures after each visit. She followed all of my instructions for caring for my dog, Oakley, & messaged me when she had a question or wanted to ensure she was caring for Oakley correctly. I’ll be traveling again this summer & I’m already looking forward to booking Elisabeth to care for my pup during those trips!”
“Rachel did an excellent job caring for our pets. She was responsive and we could tell she went above and beyond to care for our cat Toby! I would definitely book with Rachel again for our next trip.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Cloverdale
Sharene was literally a LIFESAVER! At the last minute, a neighbor told me she was not able to pet sit for me and I had already left on my trip!! Thankfully, Sharene answered my plea for last minute help (same day even!) to check in daily for my 2 cats and make sure they were healthy & happy while I was thousands of miles away. I thank my lucky stars to have found Sharene and will DEFINITELY request her saintly services for my 2 fur babies the next time I need to travel… thank you a ma-billion times Sharene, I appreciate you more than words can express!!

I was really nervous about hiring a stranger to come in and to care for my 2 cats, but joleene completely put me at ease. She shows up on time and is very much an animal lover. She followed all of the routines that I told her that my cats like. I would definitely recommend her to care for your fur babies!

Very prompt with returning text messages too, i always got a reply and it was answered well with in a reasonable time frame. 1st time using rover.com rewarding experience very stress free.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cloverdale. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
