Friday through Sunday, I have open availability and can accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and nighttime care as needed. I always try to be flexible and communicate clearly with pet parents so I can provide the best care possible for each dog’s routine and individual needs. About: I have been caring for pets since I was a teenager. I currently own a small farm and have experience caring for all types of animals, including dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, and sheep. I am happy to care for any size dog, and love spending time with old dogs or puppies. I have personally and professionally cared for cats and dogs for the past 25 years, and have always had a cat or dog in my house, of all age ranges. I also have experience in cat and dog rescues, and am used to working with scared or anxious animals if necessary. About: I’ve been passionate about animal science and animal welfare for as long as I can remember. I’m currently a veterinary technician at an animal hospital in the DC area. I’ve worked at the Smithsonian Zoo, NIH facilities, doggy daycare and boarding facilities, animal clinics, and a humane society shelter for birds, cats, dogs, rodents and reptiles. I will be applying for veterinary school this summer and I am currently in a Master’s program with a concentration in bioengineering. I’m currently working full-time at an animal hospital, including mornings on Saturday. I have two days during the week that I am off the clock. My shifts are from 7:30am to 6:00pm during the week and 7:30am to 12:00pm. I’ve used my experience in veterinary medicine and educational background (B.S. in animal science from UMD) to recognize animal behavior. About: My first job was being a pet sitter in high school and I did that for about two years. Once I joined the work force, I was really focused on my career and still loved caring for animals, but didn't really have the time to do so. Now I am in a position to be able to help other working pet parents whether they need to go on a work trip or just want a vacation for themselves. I'm very good at following instructions and would love to be able to give the piece of mind that their furry family is well taken care of! I am currently a full-time worker so Monday-Friday I would not be able to be at a house all day. However, all weekends and holidays I am available all day. About: Hi, I’m Rubi. If you book with us, both my wife Martha and I will be taking care of your pet. We truly love animals, not just as pets, but as family. Before accepting a new booking, we like to do a meet and greet. This helps make sure your pet feels comfortable with us and also gets along well with our two dogs. It’s important to us that everyone feels safe, calm, and at ease from the beginning. We know how it feels to leave your dog with someone else, because we would only trust people who care for them the same way we do. That’s exactly how we care for every pet that stays with us, like they are our own. We have two dogs at home, Oddie, our 5-year-old Cavapoo, and Toffy, our 15-year-old Bichon Frise and Maltese mix. They’ve taught us patience, attention, and how every dog has their own personality and needs. Your pet will be in a calm, loving home where they are allowed on the couch, can relax, play, and just feel comfortable. We go on walks, spend time with them, and make sure they are never just being watched, they are being truly cared for. I work mornings, and Martha works from home full time, so there is always someone present. Your pet will not be left alone or ignore. We believe in letting dogs be themselves. Every pet adjusts differently to a new environment, and we understand that it can sometimes be a little stressful at first. That’s why we ask about their routines, habits, and preferences, so we can keep things as familiar as possible and reduce that initial stress. Our goal is to make the transition gentle and help them feel safe, understood, and at home. We’ll also send updates and photos, because we know how important that is when you’re away. At the end of the day, we treat your pet the way we would want someone to treat ours, with love, patience, and real attention. I work in the morning at the moment, but Martha works from home full time so she will be available at all times if I am not around. We make sure to understand your pet's routines and habits, as well as any special needs they may have, such as medication or dietary restrictions, and provide plenty of toys and beds for the pets to use.
