About: Of course I love animals, but what matters more to me is noticing who your pet actually is. Are they the kind of dog who needs to sniff the same corner for five minutes before moving on? Are they a little shy at first and pretending not to care? Do they get excited easily and need someone calm around them? Are they a cat who wants company, but absolutely not too much company? I really enjoy figuring out those little things. I’m gentle, patient, and very respectful of each pet’s routine. I don’t believe in rushing them or treating every animal the same. Some pets need play and attention, some need slow walks and quiet reassurance, and some just need someone kind nearby so the house does not feel empty. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a way that still feels familiar to them. I’m also very careful with instructions. Feeding routines, medications, walk preferences, favorite toys, things that scare them, how they like to be greeted, whether they are allowed on the couch. I want to know all of it. I know these details are not “extra.” They are usually the things that make a pet feel secure. I’ll also send updates and photos, not just to say everything is fine, but so you can actually feel connected to them while you are away. My childhood friend and roommate, Matin, may also help me sometimes, and you may see her in some of my photos. She has had pets since childhood and fostered animals for several years, so she is very used to different personalities, nervous pets, affectionate pets, and animals who need a little extra patience. She is calm, loving, and very responsible, and I trust her completely with animals. Between the two of us, your pet will be cared for by people who genuinely like being around animals, but who also understand that trust matters. I’ll treat your pet with warmth, patience, and care, and I’ll treat your home and instructions with respect. This year, much of my work is remote, which gives me real flexibility in my schedule. That means I’m able to spend unrushed, attentive time with pets, not just quick check-ins, but actual companionship, care, and presence. I can shape my day around walks, visits, feeding times, play, and quiet company, depending on what each pet needs. My childhood friend and roommate, Matin, who is included in the pictures, also helps me out with my Rover schedules. My home is my cat Lilo’s safe little kingdom, so I can’t host other pets here. But I’m very happy to come to your home, meet outside for walks, or figure out a setup that feels easy and comfortable for you and your pet.
“Paz looked after our senior dog through a tornado warning and heat wave while we were traveling internationally. Paz went way, way above the call of duty by taking our girl to the vet when she started a hunger strike mid-way through the visit. The vet remarked that Paz was very knowledgable, attentive, and great with our girl. Paz has some sort of gift for getting animals to take medications - hopefully she'll offer a "how to" class at some point! And Paz stays in very frequent contact, sending updates and lots of photos. We are so very grateful for Paz!! She is caring, responsible, and very attentive. We cannot recommend her enough.”

“We cannot recommend Adam enough as a house/dog sitter. It is always so hard to find someone trustworthy enough to stay in our home and take care of our amazing boy. Adam was communicative, trustworthy, and reliable allowing for us to have a relaxing vacation knowing that our pup was safe. We have a 2 year old doberman who is not always the quickest to warm up to people, however he took to Adam quickly and truly enjoy his stay with him. In addition, the house was in excellent condition when we returned and Loki was happy and well exercised. Will absolutely book Adam again for future sitting opportunities and strongly recommend him to sit your pup.”

“Carismeldi is AMAZING!! We have never had a more caring, respectful & communicative sitter. She sent us very detailed updates and tons of photos which really put our mind at ease. Our house was spotless when we returned and Tyson seemed to have a great time with her. We are looking forward to booking with her again!”

“We had a great experience with Amelia. She was quickly responsive to our messages and gave plenty of updates on her weekend with our pup. We’ll definitely be using her again!”

“Jourdi took such great care of our two cats and little pup! They were super attentive to their needs, communicative, and left our house in great shape. I definitely want to keep working with them!”

“Jessica exceeded every expectation! I was out of the country for 10 days. Jessica house sat and took care of my two 11-year-old cats. My boy needs meds every morning and evening. She made great effort to make sure he got the meds, especially the first couple of days when he was getting used to her. She actually brought gates from her home and moved furniture so that she could give my boy his meds. She texted me every day with updates and pictures. I recommend her without hesitation. She's great!”

“Raquel is a delight. She is warm and responsible. Listens carefully to all instructions for watching your beloved pet and follows through. I recommend her without reservation!!”

“Alexis is a wonderful dog sitter and my doggie just loves her. I feel completely comfortable while traveling knowing that my dog is well cared for. Highly recommended.”

“Laura was absolutely awesome! Laura truly was the best! She took the very beat care of our home and dogs. Our dogs (who are a bit needy and one special needs) had a smooth and seamless transition into her care. She was thought forward, kind, caring, diligent and followed all our dogs care needs and schedule perfectly. She treated our pups and our home as her own and we are so GRATEFUL! We feel so blessed to have met her and to have her care for our beloved dogs. We were very impressed & our dogs were never so calm upon our return ever. She is wonderful and comes highly recommended and we definitely hope to use her again.”

“Ashley was professional, timely, and made sure to update me about my cats while I was out of state. I also have carnivorous plants which need some special care and they were cared for well! I was able to relax and enjoy my trip knowing my animals were cared for. Thank you!”

“Rachel watched Mia for our first international trip! She took wonderful care of her and our home. She was responsive and communicated with us. Mia loved all the attention. Can’t wait to book Rachel again for our next trip!”

“Y’all. YALL. I’m just saying… Sky is FANTASTIC. Soooo personable, friendly, actually took our dog on a walk, and it’s evident that she really cares. Our dog, William, warmed up to Sky SO fast. I hope everyone can book her but I also hope that y’all don’t take my Saturdays ?”

“Syd made a point of spending time with me and Pepper to get to know them first. They were on time and kept in touch with me while I was away. Everything was as I left it upon my return. Pepper was happy and Syd was so gracious. Will ask Syd to care for my home and my girl again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clifton Heights
Angela was The Best Ever for my quirky, affectionate 13 year old standard poodle. She was extremely resourceful in figuring out how to meet his "senior" needs, and taught me a few tricks to get him to eat more! And he clearly loved her. She also took the best care of our house. I will ask her to sit with him again, without a doubt.
Amelia was absolutely incredible with my dog, Henry, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. From the moment I left, I had complete peace of mind knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. She followed all of his routines so thoughtfully, paid close attention to his eating habits, made sure he was comfortable, and genuinely treated him like he was her own. Henry can be a little particular at times, and Amelia was so patient and attentive to his needs. It was clear that she truly cares about animals and goes above and beyond to make them feel safe, loved, and happy. She also kept me updated throughout my trip, which meant so much while I was traveling. Every message and photo reassured me that Henry was thriving and getting plenty of love and attention. Coming home to a happy, relaxed dog says everything. Amelia is reliable, communicative, compassionate, and an all-around wonderful pet sitter. I would trust her with Henry again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pet.

Abigail was amazing with our two big dogs, especially Buddy who is extremely anxious! She was kind, professional, and showed up exactly on time. Abigail treated my house with as much care as my dogs! She really helped me out last minute after another sitter canceled- she came over that day to do a meet and greet and was watching them less than 24 hours later! I will happily hire her again!

Mara watched my 2 dogs over the weekend and she was amazing! She was on time, very communicative, and sent lot of cute pictures. Both dogs loved her and had a great weekend hanging out with her. She even helped one of them get over his fear of having his harness put over his head. We will definitely be using her services again!

We cannot thank Chelsea and John enough for taking such good care of our cats! We are grateful for the love, attention and care they showed our pets during an overseas vacation. Their communications alleviated any anxieties we might have had about leaving our furry friends behind and allowed us to enjoy out trip to the max.
Michael was awesome. I was able to book him in a pinch after another sitter had to cancel. He is calm, experienced, and Porter was well cared for while we were gone. He communicated with me daily 2-3x day, asked questions if they came up and dealt with a power outage that lasted about 20 hours. It rained a large part of the time we were gone and he diligently walked Porter in the rain. When we got home everything was in order. Dog towels were washed and the house was as we left it. We have used him in the past and will continue to use his services in the future for our dog. We were out of the country and knowing we had a responsible and capable dog sitter was essential.

Anam house-sitted Tinju for 2 nights in our home and was great! She kept us up todate through out the days with plenty of updates, photos, and videos. She took excellent care of Tinju, asked alot of questions, and followed directions. At our meet and greet before the stay Anam was very professional! We highly recommend her and would definitely hire Anam again!

As always, Amberleigh provided super frequent and detailed updates while I was out of state for the week! My 3 cats and 2 dogs love when she visits and were very happy and healthy when I got home. I’m sure they’re already looking forward to the next time I leave 😅

I cannot say enough good things about Maia. You can tell when a person truly loves animals and our dog knew from the start that Maia is one of those people. She has been amazing with our senior dog. She takes special care to ensure that she is not over-exercised or left outside in extreme weather. When she watched our girl during a blizzard, she even shoveled a pathway in the snow so that Pandora could get outside to do potty. I always get lots of pictures and updates. Maia is a true gem and I highly recommend her.

Olivia is great! She took such good care of our two dogs while we went away for a long weekend and followed our instructions carefully. She is also very respectful of our home and left it neat and orderly. She even left the tv on for our dogs when she left. Olivia is very responsive and replied to my messages within minutes—sometimes seconds. We would highly recommend Olivia and would definitely have her take care of our dogs again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Clifton Heights
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Clifton Heights on Rover is $53.27 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,815 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Clifton Heights. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clifton Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clifton Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clifton Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
