“Courtney is absolutely fabulous!! We adore her. Teddy, our golden doodle puppy, was quite a handful at 4 months old when she started with us. He loved her from the start and she has been so patient with all of his puppy antics and sharp little teeth! It has given us so much peace of mind to have her caring as much about our little guy as we do. Wait until you hear about her foster work at home as well! She is just an all-around great person and animal lover. 6 out of 5 stars! We highly recommend!!!”

“Jessica dropped in on our dogs for a week while we were out of state, and I couldn't have been happier with choosing her! She was prompt, played lots with the dogs, made sure they were happy, and let me know when there were any unexpected things that happened! We got lots of pictures and updates! We will be coming back to her first in the future! Couldn't recommend enough!”

“Lauren was awesome with our 2 fur babies!! I loved getting the pictures and seeing my dog play and have fun. Much better than boarding!! Will definitely use her again.”

“Lauren did a fantastic job sitting our two cats. She did exactly what I wanted, and then went above and beyond. If you need a sitter, I highly recommend Lauren. Mike B.”
“The two cats greatly appreciate the clean litter boxes and the food bowls filled up. They appreciate the treats as well. They are taken well care of while we are out of town.”

“Cassandra was absolutely wonderful with my kitty! She was so patient with my shy girl, sent pictures and videos every day, and took amazing care of her. I 10/10 recommend her for pet care!!”

About: I've cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and I treat every pet like they're my own. I'm patient, reliable, and attentive to each pet's unique needs and routine. I provide regular updates, photos, and plenty of love and attention so pet parents can feel confident while they're away. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and happy in my care. I have a part time and only work 2-3days a week so I have an open schedule to do a lot of caring for your pet. I have a fenced yard and a dog at home that is playful with everyone.I will also follow each pet's regular routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and any special instructions provided by their owner.
“Karen always takes great care of my (sick and complicated) cat. She is an excellent communicator and very conscientious. She even suggested a great solution when her schedule precluded her covering part of an upcoming trip.”
“Lillian was a great sitter for my cats over the holiday break! Apartment was as I left it when I came back, cats were happy, and Lillian was responsive and professional. Would highly recommend.”

About: I have always been able to communicate and interact with animals much easier than i have with people, it comes more naturally to me. The first thing that my closest friends and family say when introducing me to anyone, especially if they have pets, is that i’m great with animals. it fits in perfectly, i work at part time job at a clothing store but my shifts are only typically four hours, and i get off work anytime between 4-6 so right around dinner time. i have an open yard that my dog can roam freely whenever we let her out, she tends to stay within 10 yards of our front doorstep so we do not keep her on a leash. however, should i be taking care of a dog and it does need to be on a leash when being let out, that is no problem at all.
“Rebecca was an absolute life saver and amazing watching our dog while we were gone for a week! She jumped in last moment when our original sitter cancelled and had our little one in great hands. She is very communicative, a quick responder, and we really appreciated the full updates and numerous pictures with each check in. Would hire her again in a heartbeat!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was little and learned the importance of care needed especially with certain breeds. I personally have a Great Pyrenees mix now and he is my whole world. I grew up with Belgian Malinois, Labs, Cane Corsos, and Brindles. I have trained these dogs before and know how to read body language. I have been a dog sitter for even little fur-babies, such as yorkies and chihuahuas🩷 i love to go on long walks and play games with pups. I’m an ER Nurse and work three days a week, overall my pup gets all the attention he needs with the help of my spouse that takes care of him as well. We do long walks every morning and get tons of play time and socializing at public dog parks in the area. I will treat any animal as if it’s my own!! I take extra care of any fur-baby that I can, they are in my opinion our best friends and need to be treated as such. I will take all the time needed to do walks, play fetch, or do some fun training! If the pup is friendly and wants a friend I can even bring my own fur-baby so it’s a play date!

About: I’ve had a love for animals my entire life, and dogs have always held a very special place in my heart. I’ve grown up caring for dogs and have always been the friend and family member who loves to spoil every fur baby with extra attention, cuddles, and affection. I’ve also had experience caring for other people’s pets, including dogs and bunnies, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with a member of your family. I treat every pet as if they were my own and make it a priority to provide them with patience, comfort, companionship, and plenty of love. I take pride in going above and beyond to make sure every pet feels safe, happy, and cared for while their family is away. I’ve always received positive feedback from the families I’ve helped, and I would love the opportunity to give your fur baby the same love and attention I would want for my own. 🐾❤️ I’m a lab assistant working until medical school late 2027. I work in the mornings from 6 AM to 11 AM and then I’m home the rest of the day. I live in a renovated basement space giving your fur baby their own comfortable and peaceful space during their stay. I also have a cat who is very friendly with dogs and is comfortable around other cats. I’m also happy to accommodate pets with allergies, anxiety, or other special needs. If your pet or anyone in your family has allergies, I can keep the animals completely separated during their stay and take extra precautions to maintain a clean, comfortable environment. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, relaxed, and loved while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. 🐾❤️

About: I have done on and off sitting since childhood, predominantly medium and big dogs as well as cats, however all are welcome! I can administer medicine with food, and take special time playing or cuddling your sweet baby! I have a very open schedule! Any requirements I have outside of taking care of you best friend I am able to do virtually and at any time of day, so it won't prevent me from the care they deserve! I can keep a close eye on your pets if desired, and I'll make sure to play with them so they don't feel restless! If they need to be leashed to explore I am more than willing!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Claxton
After a small hiccup in communication at the beginning of the visit, Alexa was amazing. She followed the instructions I had for the cats, she provided daily reports, and she left the house clean and tidy, which isn’t always the easiest when you’re dealing with cats. She was great and I would absolutely use her again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
