“Haley is such a conscientious sitter. We always have utmost confidence in the level of care she brings our anxiety-riddled kind of weird dog. She communicates great and is always on time.”

“Karen always takes great care of my (sick and complicated) cat. She is an excellent communicator and very conscientious. She even suggested a great solution when her schedule precluded her covering part of an upcoming trip.”
“Stephanie wow, she has such a beautiful energy, my puppy baby onyx fell in love with her instantly! Stephanie is kind, easygoing, hardworking, and very professional! I truly appreciate her excellent way of communicating and notifying me about her visits. So grateful.”

“Jessica dropped in on our dogs for a week while we were out of state, and I couldn't have been happier with choosing her! She was prompt, played lots with the dogs, made sure they were happy, and let me know when there were any unexpected things that happened! We got lots of pictures and updates! We will be coming back to her first in the future! Couldn't recommend enough!”

About: I am a dependable and experienced pet sitter with over 8 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. As someone who has grown up with and owned dogs, I understand the importance of providing pets with consistent care, attention, exercise, and affection while their owners are away. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I have regularly pet sat for neighbors and teammates, helping with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and maintaining pets’ daily routines. I am comfortable working with both large and small breeds and understand that every dog has unique needs and energy levels. I am currently taking supplemental online courses and am working part-time remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for and play with your fur babies throughout the day! I live on 3 acres of property, giving dogs plenty of space to explore, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors under supervision. While the yard is not fenced, I prioritize safety and can keep dogs leashed, closely monitored, or crated when needed. I make sure pets receive daily walks, regular playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. For dogs that enjoy being active, I also occasionally take them on hikes to provide additional exercise and enrichment. I understand the importance of maintaining a pet’s normal routine and will follow feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication instructions, and any special care requests provided by the owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their home and pets with the utmost respect, ensuring pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment while receiving attentive care. My goal is always to make pets feel safe and happy while their owners are away.
“Ashley was so sweet to my cat Cali over the Thanksgiving holiday! She had plenty of tips on toys/tools for cats and made sure to use them while I was out of town on her. She emphasised cleaning the litter box everyday even if I weren’t asking that of her, and sent plenty of pictures/videos while I was gone!”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my entire life and have experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes, from 10-pound lap dogs to 150-pound large breeds. I currently own two cats and have previously cared for a pit bull mix, miniature schnauzer, toy poodle, and many other pets over the years. I have experience with senior pets, anxious/reactive animals, and administering medications both through food and oral syringes. I’m comfortable handling multiple pets at once and have cared for up to five dogs and one cat at the same time. I truly love spending time with animals and enjoy taking dogs on walks and jogs, playing with them, and giving them plenty of affection and attention. I’m dependable, communicative, and always strive to make both pets and owners feel safe and comfortable while in my care. I’m currently a full-time student and work part-time, but pet care is something I genuinely enjoy making time for. With at least two weeks’ notice, I’m able to accommodate my work schedule even more to provide reliable care for your pets. I’m dependable, flexible, and make sure every pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, jogs, cuddles, or simply relaxing with company, I’m happy to accommodate their routine and keep you updated along the way. Your pet’s comfort and safety are always my top priorities. I have experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes, including senior pets and anxious/reactive animals, so I understand the importance of patience, awareness, and creating a calm environment. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special routines your pet may need. I’m also a strong communicator and will provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Elizabeth did a phenomenal job taking care of my babies while I was out of state. She went above and beyond what I asked of her, and I could not be happier with the care that my animals received! Based on the picture updates she sent, I think my animals fell in love with her too! Will definitely use her services again!”

About: Medically retired Veteran and stay at home dad with lots of time on my hands to care for fur kids and keep a watchful eye on them. I have dog sat for friends' pets and personal pets that I've owned for over 30 years. I don't currently have another job. So, aside from medical appointments, I don't have any issues with daily or weekly routines. I should be able to conform to any and all needs. I always care for every pet as though that pet were my own. I know how sensitive each pet can be, so I try my best to keep that in mind when dealing with someone else's pet.
About: I love all dogs and genuinely care about their happiness, comfort, and well-being. I am available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking, and I truly enjoy spending time with animals of all ages and sizes. In addition to caring for my family’s and friends’ pets, I previously worked for a professional pet care company that was fully insured and highly rated by clients. In that role, I was trusted with clients’ home keys, cared for pets in their homes, and maintained the high standards expected of a professional pet sitter. This experience taught me the importance of reliability, communication, and treating every pet and home with respect. I love going on walks, playing in the yard, and giving plenty of cuddles and attention. I have a toy Cavapoo puppy of my own, so I am also comfortable caring for puppies and understand that they often require extra patience, supervision, and specialized care. I also have two large dog “nephews and nieces” that I regularly spend time with, so I am comfortable handling and genuinely enjoy dogs of all sizes, from tiny puppies to large breeds. While dogs are my specialty, I also have experience with cats and previously lived with one, making me comfortable caring for feline friends as well. When caring for your pet in your home, I am extremely respectful of your space. I make every effort to leave your home exactly as I found it by keeping things clean and tidy, turning off lights, locking doors, and following any household instructions you provide. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing that both your pet and your home are in caring, trustworthy hands. I look forward to meeting you and your beloved furry family member! I am currently in a doctorate program, which gives me a fairly flexible schedule throughout the entire week. Because my schedule varies, I am often available for drop-in visits, walks, house sitting, and other pet care needs at different times of the day. I am a naturally spontaneous and adaptable person, so working with changing schedules is something I genuinely enjoy. I do my best to accommodate each client’s needs and will work with you to ensure your pet receives reliable, attentive care whenever it is needed. I understand that trusting someone with both your pet and your home is a big decision. I take that responsibility seriously and always strive to provide a safe, reliable, and respectful experience. While caring for your pet, I will treat your home with the same care and consideration that I would my own. I make an effort to maintain a clean environment, clean up after myself and your pet, secure doors and windows, and follow any household instructions you provide. My goal is for you to return to a happy pet and a home that looks just as you left it, or exactly as you would expect it to be.
About: I’ve had animals ever since I was a little kid. I would dog sit my neighbors animals when they would go on vacations for full weeks or weekends. I would sometimes stay at their houses overnight or go by a few times a day. It would just depend on what was requested. I work from eight to five Monday through Friday and I have all weekends off!! My schedule is pretty free and flexible throughout the weekend. I live in an apartment complex but I do have a dog park there! I also live right down from Concord park in Farragut where I can go and play and walk them.
About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 13 and have been entrusted with the care of multiple animals at the same time for weeks at a time. I have and still house sit, walk, feed, and am able to give medication to animals when needed. I have house sat for a dog with neurological issues multiple times. I am able to handle small and larger breeds. I have dogs myself so I can read other's signals quite well. I am also well rounded in taking care of cats. I will have graduate assistantship on campus which will not exceed 20 hours per week and classes only once a day and only three days a week giving me a lot of time to fit pet care into my schedule. I am also good at deciding if I can handle certain jobs at times and advocate for myself. I will usually work with the owner and ask them to provide information on how they would like me to care for their animal(s) just to make sure they receive the best care and can stay on their normal day to day schedule. I am good in an emergency and if there is one I can act quickly and get pets to the best care possible. I like to work with all animals using positive reinforcement and patience and am able to keep to the rules that have been set for them by their owners as well. I will treat the pet(s) the same way in their own home as I would if they were in mine. I always want their experience away from their person to be as stress free as I can make it.
“Kayla was awesome! The dogs loved her and she was always on time. She also made sure to send pictures after every visit! Kayla even accommodated when our plans changed which was super helpful. We’ll definitely be using her services again!”

“Stephanie is amazing! We love having her watch Echo for us. Her updates are reassuring and her responsiveness is on point. We always feel good leaving Echo in her care.”

“This was our first time using Rover, and Lisa was great. She was friendly to work with, and extremely conscientious. She gave us regular updates on all four cats, and really helped make our first experience a good one.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was little and learned the importance of care needed especially with certain breeds. I personally have a Great Pyrenees mix now and he is my whole world. I grew up with Belgian Malinois, Labs, Cane Corsos, and Brindles. I have trained these dogs before and know how to read body language. I have been a dog sitter for even little fur-babies, such as yorkies and chihuahuas🩷 i love to go on long walks and play games with pups. I’m an ER Nurse and work three days a week, overall my pup gets all the attention he needs with the help of my spouse that takes care of him as well. We do long walks every morning and get tons of play time and socializing at public dog parks in the area. I will treat any animal as if it’s my own!! I take extra care of any fur-baby that I can, they are in my opinion our best friends and need to be treated as such. I will take all the time needed to do walks, play fetch, or do some fun training! If the pup is friendly and wants a friend I can even bring my own fur-baby so it’s a play date!

I'm new to Rover and Karen represented the "Rover community" well. I'm looking forward to using Rover (and Karen) when I get another chance to take a vacation. Karen's notes and photos were great and gave me a great sense of relief that my cats were cared for while I was away. Easily 5 stars!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elza. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
