“This was our second time having Nina care for our bunny. Outstanding experience, will continue to rebook her. Her communication is excellent. She took fantastic care of our pet and even alerted us to a home issue and helped to resolve it in our absence. Exceeded expectations!”

About: Hi there! My name is Emily, and I provide compassionate, structured, and experienced pet care for animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. With a PhD in biology and 4 years of experience working as a zoo scientist, I bring a deep, professional understanding of animal behavior, physiology, and welfare to my work. Whether handling high energy puppy play, gentle support for a senior, or a calm environment for a nervous pet, I ensure every animal receives safe and informed care. My Hands-On Experience and Specialty Care: Much of my practical day to day experience comes from loving and caring for my two German Shepherds, but I am equally comfortable caring for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small critters. Senior and Special Needs Care: I spent years managing complex medical conditions, including senior care and seizure monitoring for my beloved Shepherd before she passed. I am extremely comfortable and with administering oral medications on schedule, maintaining routines for your pets, and providing extra love, patience, and care. Reactivity and Training Continuity: I currently care for my 100lb White German Shepherd, who deals with extreme anxiety and reactivity toward other animals. Because I regularly work alongside professional trainers to manage his behavior, I have extensive practice handling reactive dogs safely on walks using positive reinforcement and loose leash training techniques. I will happily maintain whatever training boundaries or protocols you have in place. Scientific Expertise Across Species: My background in biology and zoological research gives me a unique comfort level with specialized species like reptiles and birds, along with an intuitive eye for subtle signs of stress or illness. What You Can Expect: Safety First Walks-Calmer, structured walks using proper techniques to safely guide dogs that struggle with leash reactivity. Routine and Medication Precision-Strict adherence to your pet’s feeding schedules, medication doses, and training plans. Peace of Mind-Regular updates and photos so you always know your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’d love to learn more about your pets and how I can help! Feel free to reach out to set up a Meet and Greet. I am currently unemployed due to federal funding cuts. :( Until I find my dream job in wildlife conservation, I will have endless time to dedicate to your pets. In your home, I respect your space, secure all entry points, and adhere to your pet’s routine. With extensive experience handling senior pets with medical needs and reactive dogs, safety during walks and care is paramount. I practice hyper-vigilance, avoid off-leash areas, monitor for subtle signs of stress, and use positive reinforcement to keep walks calm. Whether caring for dogs, cats, birds, or reptiles, I follow all medical and training instructions to the letter and provide regular updates, so you always have full peace of mind.
“Morgan was amazing for our drop in visit with my dog! She made the time for a meet and greet beforehand, and took lots of photos during her visit which made me feel so comfortable. Will definitely book again!!”

“AmariYah watched our two dogs while we went out of town and did a great job! They can be particular about who walks them but she got them out and about no problem. Absolutely would book her again.”
“Emma came to the rescue for us first time puppy owners! She couldn’t be sweeter with Frisbee and was a huge help to us in learning the ropes on routines and tips to make puppy ownership a breeze. Knowing she was coming over to play with our girl gave us such peace of mind. Frisbee loved her too! 🐾”

“Megan is an amazing sitter who took great care of my special needs dog when I had to leave town for work. She gave him his insulin without any issues and gave me great notes on how the visit went. She went above and beyond in every visit and she is at the top of my list for future needs. She really kept my heart at ease when I couldn’t be home and made me feel good about leaving him in her care.”
“Brendan was great with our 2 dogs. The dogs seemed to like him and the pictures proved that. He took his time with each dog individually which was nice for the dogs to get their own attention. Thank you for respecting our home and taking care of our fur-babies! We are definitely keeping Brendan in our favorites.”

“Meranda did such an awesome job watching my cats. One of them is a senior who requires an inhaler. She made sure both of them were well cared for & both my cats took to her right away. The communication was awesome and 100% would recommend her :)”

About: I have been an animal lover my whole life with always having dogs and cats at home. I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages through volunteering at an animal shelter for 2 years. I helped with walking and playtime for dogs, many who were very high energy, and helped with playing and socializing the cats and kittens. I currently help out family and friends with their cats, dogs, and even guinea pigs/rodents. I have 2 cats of my own now that I raised since they were kittens as well as a saltwater aquarium. I know your pets mean the world to you and I am here to help keep them happy and healthy in any way I can! I have a partial work from home schedule during the weekday with flexible hours so that I can work around visits to suit your pets' needs. I am very used to animals of all different energy levels and will take the time to meet their needs. If they need a long walk to get their energy out or just someone to sit with them for some attention.

Christina was the best! she took excellent care of our kiddos and even got our most sensitive cat to eat his meals (and take his meds!) without any issue! she sent us tons of photos, was super communicative, and super flexible. 10/10 recommend her for all your pet needs!!

Best Rover sitter I have had thus far! They’ve all been great but he was especially detailed with how they all did each day and I could tell he was paying attention because it really fit each personality exactly. He took lots of pictures and touched on the shy one getting attention because she loves it but doesn’t seek it out. Had total peace of mind. He also stayed a little extra time which I so appreciated. Really above and beyond!

Crystal is a cat whisperer - my incredibly shy cat Katie hides for all visitors. But she finally emerged for Crystal! Thanks to Crystal’s consistent effort to show Katie that she’s a friendly and non-threatening helper over the course of visits during the last several months. Thank you for going above and beyond, Crystal!

Muning and Corey took excellent care of our two cats while we were away. They were very communicative and helpful, and went above and beyond taking extra care of our older cat who had frequent accidents. I highly recommend them both for any pet care care. Thank you, Muning and Corey!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
