“Marlee is a wonderful dog walker! She really cares about our fur baby. She is reliable, warm and friendly! I will be using Marlee only going forward. Thank you Marlee! You ass awesome!”

“Christine does a phenomenal job caring for our puppy while we are at work. She responds immediately, takes a bunch of pics for us, and always ensures he is comfortable before leaving. Christine always makes sure to meet our specific needs and is very attentive with Arlo. We are so thankful to have such a reliable and kind person to assist us when needed.”

“I contacted Erikah, last minute, to walk my mom's energetic Golden Retriever. She responded within two hours and adjusted her plans to walk the dog the same day! My mom raved about her approach--super friendly--as well as how well she handled Beamer. He jumped all over her when she arrived, but she stayed cool, calmed him down and got to the walk. She walked him for the full hour and actually wore him down. Absolutely A+”

“Paul and his fiancée do a great job with my Husky. My dog normally doesn’t enjoy other humans, and he loses his appetite when I travel. But Paul’s energy didn’t bring any of those concerns out.”

“Jenni had contacted me to let me know that she was on her way for our dogs’ walk. She took pics of them to show us that she was at our home with the dogs. I had told her about the route the dogs were use to taking and she showed us the map of the route. The dogs were good for her out on the walk. When they got home they were well tired enough and curled up for a nap. I look forward to having Jenni come walk them again!”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life from small pets to large dogs and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I grew up helping friends and neighbors with their pets, which gave me a solid foundation in handling dogs of all sizes and personalities. Now, I have a 1.5 year old Lab named Knox who’s full of energy and love. He keeps me active, patience’s, and always on my toes! I also have a 9 year old cat named Levi, who brings a calm, loving balance to our home. Because of them, I understand how important it is to trust someone who will treat your pet like family Whether your dog needs a long walk, some playtime, or just a calm presence while you’re away, I’m here to help. I’m reliable, communicative, and will always make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for as if they were mine. Let me know what your pet needs. I’m happy to accommodate special routines or preferences! I’m a full-time nursing student with plenty of free time during the day, so I’m great for helping out while you’re at work. I know how important it is for pets to get attention and exercise in the middle of those long days. I’m happy to provide walks, playtime, or just some company to keep your animals happy and relaxed on your busy days. I have empathy for those who having to leave their animals so safety is a top priority for me when pet sitting. I will always use a leash when on walks and at home if there is no fenced in yard available. Also would like to know if the pet has any special instructions and their likes/ dislikes.

About: I’ve spent years caring for and training dogs, including raising and training four Australian Cattle Dogs—a breed known for its intelligence and high energy. Through that experience, I’ve learned how to read canine body language, reinforce good behaviors, and confidently handle dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I’ve also walked dogs for several of my mom’s clients throughout the Hockessin and Wilmington area. My focus is on providing safe, reliable, and personalized care while treating every dog as if they were my own. I am home full-time, which allows me to provide attentive, personalized care throughout the day. Your dog won’t be left alone for long periods and will receive plenty of potty breaks, exercise, playtime, enrichment, and affection. Being home full-time also allows me to closely monitor each dog’s well-being, maintain their routine, and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Your dog will be cared for like one of my own in a safe, loving home environment. I have a fully fenced 0.6-acre yard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore under supervision. They’ll also have the companionship of my three friendly, well-socialized dogs if they enjoy being around other dogs. Throughout the day, your pet will receive plenty of exercise, potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, and affection. I follow each dog’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special instructions, so they feel comfortable, happy, and at home while you’re away.
About: With a lifelong passion for dogs and three years of hands-on training in animal science at TCHS, I provide expert care in walking, feeding, grooming, and administering medications. Currently, I apply these skills daily at a local kennel, ensuring every pet receives personalized attention and the highest standard of care. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine as I currently work part-time at Vixen Hall Kennels. My schedule changes weekly, but I’m flexible with hours and can easily accommodate different times. I’m also willing to get up early or stay up late if needed to ensure your pets receive the best care at any time of day. I treat every pet like they’re my own, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their own environment. I follow any specific instructions provided by the owner to maintain their pets' routine, whether it’s feeding, playtime, or medication. I’m committed to providing personalized care and always prioritize the well-being of each animal, ensuring a stress-free experience while you're away.

About: Hi everyone! My name's Shirl and I am hoping to make your life a bit easier by taking away the stress of leaving your pup behind while you're away. I have been pet sitting for over 12 years; I used to have dogs come board with me while owners went away, but I've found that most owners prefer their pets to stay in the comfort of their own home. I have years of experience doing overnight pet sitting, but unfortunately my growing family (3 dogs and a cat of my own) no longer allows for me to stay away from home overnight. I am happy to provide multiple daily visits and/or walks! My goal is to keep your pet as comfortable as possible while you're away, by keeping their daily routine as close to "normal" as possible. I've cared for all types of pets including dogs, cats, bunnies, chicks, quail, lizards, fish, etc.! I am an experienced dog handler/ animal lover at heart. I worked at/managed a doggie day care/boarding facility for 4 years, learning from a very experienced trainer who focuses on positive reinforcement techniques ONLY. During my time there, I had opportunities to complete trainings to understand dog behaviors and body language. I have volunteered at BARCS as a dog walker/foster, working primarily with bully breeds. Why I love dog sitting I have been an animal lover my entire life. From playing with salamanders as a kid, to growing up with cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes; I've also had bunnies, fish, frogs, hermit crabs, hamsters, birds...the list goes on! I couldn't imagine a life without animals in it. My experience administering medication Yes. Working at a dog boarding facility for nearly 2 years I have had to give many forms of medications, and my personal pets also take oral medications. I am not trained to give injections. My full time job allows me to work from home majority of the week. That makes it easy for me to swing by for a visit at different times of the day. The latest drop in I can provide is 7pm. I am happy to provide updates as soon as I arrive, during the stay, and as I leave. For dog walks, I prefer not to introduce any dog that I’m handling to another dog passing by. This ensures everyone’s safety.
About: and Sophie! Hey! I’m Dylan and I’m a lifelong animal lover with a ton of experience caring for both dogs and cats. I grew up on a farm and have always had multiple pets at a time, so I learned responsibility and animal care at a young age. I currently have 3 dogs and 4 cats of my own, and I love spending time with them—whether it’s going on runs with my dogs or cuddling up with my cats. I’m calm, patient, and always make sure animals feel safe and cared for. I treat every animal like they’re my own, with love and respect. Whether your pet needs a fun walk, some playtime, or just someone to keep them company, I’m here to make sure they feel loved and cared for while you’re away! Hi, I’m Sophie! Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats, and also worked at a kennel in high school, so I have spent years caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Because of that, I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I give the best care and attention that I possibly can. I attended a vocational trade school where I studied Animal Science for three years. I gained hands-on experience caring for a variety of small and large animals, while learning proper handling and restraints, health and behavior, as well as how to safely administer oral and injectable medications. Through my training, I became certified in animal first aid and CPR. I also have experience caring for puppies/kittens, senior animals and pets with special needs, so I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and maintaining consistent routines. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing in the yard, relaxing on the couch, or simply sticking to their normal routine, we are committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. We will provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving attentive, reliable care. We understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in the care of someone else, and our goal is to make that experience as stress-free as possible for both you and your furry family member! :) I’m currently working a full-time job Monday through Thursday, from 6am until anywhere between 3pm and 5pm, depending on the day. I have Saturdays and Sundays off, and occasionally Fridays. Sophie works 2pm to 10pm a few days a week, her schedule is different every week. Since our schedules are opposite and Sophie has a bit more free time, one of us is always available to spend a good amount of time with your pet. The first thing we do when taking care of our own pets, or others pets, is let them out to go to the bathroom. Next, we prioritize feeding and medicating (if necessary) and cleaning and refilling all water bowls. Once everything important is taken care of, we then spend quality time with them, whether it’s playing fetch, cuddling or going for a walk. Before we leave, we make sure we let them back outside for a good while to make sure they take care of all of their business.

“Jasmine is Great with our 3 dogs. We were a little worried in the beginning because one is very protective and not very sociable, but they ALL love her and when they know she’s coming they get so excited to get their harnesses on and are waiting at the door. Highly recommend Jasmine!”

Lillian is awesome! I just rescued a 5-month old puppy and she loved Lillian from the moment we met at the meet and greet. Lillian gives her a walk, lunch, and plenty of attention while helping to teach some manners on which we've been working. It's great having someone trust worthy that my puppy also loves! Thank you! ♥

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
