“Rose walked our two dogs for a week and wow! She looked after them like they were her own, and sent us thorough messages and lots of pictures. It was truly a great experience for owner and dogs alike! Our dogs loved her and are absolutely missing her right now. I would recommend Rose to anyone who is looking for a dog walker or pet sitter. Thank you for everything Rose!!!”

“Devinder is great with my dog. He takes the time to connect with Baloo and gives him the mid-day attention and care needed while I'm at work. Devinder is very reliable and is very good at communicating. I would highly recommend!”

“Riley was fantastic! We are new at this (first family dog) as we have a puppy and Riley was a huge help to jump in at the last minute. She was kind enough to fit us in her already tightly booked schedule as we were in a huge bind! She updated throughout the day with pictures and videos. Thanks Riley!! We will definitely contact her again!”

“Anna successfully walked our ultra-shy dog! She's very responsive and followed my excessively detailed instructions. We're definately booking more walks with her (:”

“Kade made my first experience with Rover a pleasant one! She followed every instruction and sent me the cutest photos! Milo had a great time on his walk and we will definitely use Kade again!”

About: I am a musician, property manager, & ex-software dev who enjoys taking care of animals. One of my favorite experiences was caring for a small farm (dogs, cats, horses, and chickens!) in Kentucky. I love taking dogs on walks around town & to explore the river! I am committed to consistent and clear communication; I place a high value on the professional relationship between house-sitter and host. I love sending daily updates as requested. I don't work during the day, so I can accommodate feedings, med delivery, walks, and playtime all day long! I try to structure my day around the client's schedule, so that the animals don't experience a disruption in their normal routine. I love doing overnight sits for pets in the environment they are most comfortable in — their own home. I find it easy to adapt to a pet’s schedule and routine and I love exploring new places around town via walks!
“Adora is absolute wonderful with my baby girl. She came through in a pinch for me, put me at ease about the care my dog-child was in, loved on her and got her some sunshine while I was stuck at work. Thank you, Adora!”

“Lila was a joy, and the relief I needed in my busy work week! I have never used Rover before, but booked her for a week of walks when I was in a scheduling pinch. She was very reliable, arriving right on time each day, and provided me a fun summary of my dogs’ demeanors...and was always very pleasant (even though I’m sure my puppy was a handful at times!). Thanks so much Lila, I would highly recommend you.”

“Maria and Luis were so kind. Great communication, very accomodating to my last-second changes, and my dogs love their new friends. I would book with them again- highly recommend Maria and Luis!”

About: I have been pet sitting for a long time with rover for about 11 years ! I’m currently living in Richmond so I would love to use my free time from work / school , pet sitting ! Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave reviews ! It helps me a lot along the way ❤️ ! It fits great because I am home mainly in weekends. Since I’m in school I can’t really travel anywhere unless it’s planned ahead ! So I’m mainly free on weekends. I care for pets the same as I care for my dogs. I don’t have them living with me for the next two years while I’m in Richmond. But I take my babies everywhere with me parks, beaches, and stores ( if allowed )
About: I’m new to Rover sitting so I don’t have any rescues yet, but I’m not new to pet sitting. I’ve had furry (scaled and feathered!) friends around me my whole life, from cats and dogs, to guinea pigs and bunnies, to fish and even birds. I also have experience with caring for sugar gliders, ironically. I’ve worked as a pet uber, and volunteered at shelters, socializing events, and cat rescues, so I’m used to all kinds of personalities, from shy snugglers, to loyal guardians, to goofy adventurers. I love them all! Let me love on your baby. I am currently an online psychology masters student and substitute teacher. Since my recent medical retirement from the military, my schedule’s become flexible, which means more walks, belly rubs, and playtime for your pets! I am willing to do meet and greets to learn pet needs and routines, or will accept any detailed written/typed outlines of care requests. You name it; whatever is best for you and your fur baby.
“Sydney was amazing with my sweet dog PJ. I came to Richmond from out of town for a few days and was grateful to coordinate several dog walks with Sydney. PJ is not a city dog, so I was a little hesitant on how best to handle downtown Richmond. Sydney knows the area well as a VCU student, and she was able to find green space and waterfront walks for PJ. She also did well to secure arrangements with me on short notice. I will certainly reach out to her again on my next visit to Richmond. Thanks Sydney!”

About: Hey there! Im Julia. From a young age I have taken care of many dogs, cats, rabbits, & horses for my friends, family and neighbors. I have had experience house breaking and training several puppies in basics tricks such as sit, stay, roll-over and more! I also have experience with older dogs of up to age 14 both with my own pet and other’s pets. I understand the care and patience it takes for dogs of all ages and I will take the time to make sure your pet is comfortable and their needs are met. I am a full-time college student taking several classes online so I am often home and your pet is never alone for too long. : ) Regardless of whether I am taking care of pets in my home or in a client’s home the first thing I do is speak with the client about their expectations for me when watching their pet. Every pet is different and unique and require care tailored to their lifestyle and routine. Aside from setting and following expectations, I like to ensure that the pets are not only in a comfortable environment but also stay active though walks or playing parks. Being comfortable and active keeps you pet happy and healthy which is something I strive to do as a pet caretaker.
About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life. Dogs, cats, and even farm animals—and I have experience with everything from energetic puppies to seniors who need medication and gentle care. I fostered through the Richmond SPCA in college, which taught me patience, how to read different personalities, and how to help shy or nervous pets feel safe. I’ve also worked with professional trainers while raising my own dog, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic commands, routines, and positive behavior. I’m active and love taking dogs on long walks and play sessions, but I also know how to slow things down for older pets or those who prefer a calm routine. What sets me apart is that I understand how stressful it can feel to leave your pet with someone new, and I focus on giving both you and your pet comfort while you’re apart—lots of love, clear communication, and updates that help you feel connected every step of the way. I live at home and work remotely, so I’m able to be with your pet throughout the day. This gives me the flexibility to stick to their routine, whether that means regular potty breaks, long walks, playtime, or just keeping them company so they never feel alone. Your pet won’t be waiting hours for attention, I’m around to give them consistent care and comfort. I live in a three bedroom home with plenty of space and a secure 6-ft fenced yard, with Ring cameras surrounding the property for added safety and peace of mind. My own dog is crate trained, friendly, and well-socialized—he loves to play but is gentle and respectful enough to give visiting dogs space when they need it. I can keep pets separate if preferred, and I have two bedrooms set up as little “pet hotels” so each dog has their own quiet, comfortable space to relax, sleep, or eat without stress. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I follow your routines closely, communicate often, and make sure every animal feels safe, understood, and treated like family.
“I cannot recommend Sierra highly enough! My dog, Mickey, ran down the hall to meet her on her second visit. He’s never done that. She obviously had Mickey’s seal of approval immediately. Sierra is conscientious, very communicative, and extremely kind. She has my complete trust and respect, because she treats Mickey as if he were her own. To me that is the absolute best quality in a dog walker! Choosing Sierra as your dog walker is the absolute correct decision! Having Sierra walk your dog will keep you worry free and happy while your pup gets good exercise, has fun and is treated like family 😃”

About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of animals since I was a child and have always loved it! I am unable to have a pet at this time, so spending time with other people’s pets brings me so much joy. I’m hoping to play a part in keeping your pets active, along with myself! I currently work Thursday through Sunday, with some flexibility, depending on the week. I’m available to walk your pups in the morning on any weekday and later in the day Monday through Wednesday I currently cannot have any pets in my home, but am definitely looking to walk the pups through whatever neighborhood you live in. I’ve lived in Richmond for 10 years now and am comfortable walking pretty much anywhere!
About: I have taken care of both cats and dogs before so I have lots of experience with overall care for pets, but I also provide extra care for the pet as well. Rather than do the bare minimum of walking, playing, and feeding, I like to ensure the pets I take care of arent lonely which means dedicating more time than needed to keep the pet happy! Right now I am home from university and looking to make some money for next year while also doing something I love. I have a very flexible schedule because of this so I am always open to adjustments in your schedule! I have cared for many different breeds, sizes, and types of pets before and know how to adjust my care for them based on those things as well as their personality.
Central Office dog parents share their Rover experiences
Amanda went above and beyond! When I needed to set up a walk for Thanksgiving day on short notice, she arranged a time to come and meet me and my dog ahead of time and asked great questions. She was communicative, showed up on time, and gave my dog extra care, love, and attention after her walk. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you so much!

Bethany was absolutely wonderful with my two big guys and has been great with my scheduling and time changes. She handled their size and energy with ease and clear competence; its a relief to know they’re in good hands. I’ll definitely be booking her again - she has been incredibly communicative, flexible, reliable, and consistent, and I have been very appreciative of her efforts and willingness to go above and beyond!

Sammy is the absolute best! This is the first time we have utilized a dog walking app for our sweet boy and she made us as well as him feel comfortable the entire time. We booked last minute and she was more than happy to accommodate us. We truly could not have asked for a better experience!
