“Berenice is amazing! She took great care of my pup and I am so grateful to her! He enjoyed spending time at her house with other doggies and her kids. She sent me photos and the report. She also got me a really nice card with his paw for Mother's Day! What a great thought! She just went above and beyond. I would recommend her for sure and will be using her services again in the future when in town.”

“Madison & Moses are awesome! So easy to communicate with and both have a great, calm energy that was perfect for helping my shy, anxious, rescue pittie feel right at home. It’s clear they’re both well-versed in dog behavior and I appreciate that they met my dog right where she was at. They had no issues giving her the time, space and patience needed to open up in her own time - it made all the difference. Thankful to have found them!”

“Jennifer (and her husband, Chris) were such wonderful caretakers to our dog, Odi! She was so receptive to texts and sent multiple pictures throughout the day to keep me updated on how he was doing. I honestly think he was a little bummed to come home after all the fun he had exploring, walking and playing with their sweet dog, Harper. I'm very grateful to have found them and Odi will be thrilled with another visit someday.”

About: Hi! My name is Isabelle. I’ve been dog sitting for friends, family, and neighbors for at least 10 years! I miss having dogs around so I will love yours like my own. I work from home full time and can easily take lots of breaks to let your dog out! I also take 1-2 long walks a day. Feel free to bring their bed and any toys your dog may want to have with them. I don’t have a yard but plenty of space to walk them around.
“Bernadette had a great time with Charlie; we were a bit anxious because she only went twice to a daycare and it wasn’t a good fit for her; she’s scared of noises and don’t like loud environment. Charlie’s house seems quiet, with a nice backyard to play around and Bernadette looked very happy when we picked her up! Thank you Charlie for your great care, you’re the best :)”

About: I have always grown up with dogs and have never been in the house without them. I have had my own dog for the past two years and I regularly help take care of my neighbors pets as well as my friends. I have taken care of dogs from 2 pounds all the way up to over 100 pounds and I would say I’m very well-versed in how to care for animals. My dog is extremely dog friendly and would love to meet and play with your dog friend.! If your dog is unsure of other dogs, then I can walk your dog without my dog or I can dogs sit at your house without bringing my dog with me. I currently work a hybrid position where I am fully home on Mondays and Fridays and during the weekend. During the week I come home during my lunch break from work to walk my dog, so if needed, I can walk your dog during my lunch break as well. Mondays and Fridays, I am fully available to care for your dog in my home, at your home or whichever arrangement works best. I do live in a dog friendly apartment, but I can care for either your dog in either my home or in your home. My dog and I are constantly going to the park and beach so if your dog is comfortable, I can also take them with me to the park or beach.

About: I’m a full-time teacher, and I do dog sitting as a second job (during breaks) because I truly enjoy it.I’m attentive, reliable, and very comfortable following routines and instructions. I love spending time with dogs, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m especially good at reading behavior, providing structure when needed, and giving plenty of attention and affection. Whether it’s sticking to a schedule, administering basic care, or just keeping your dog happy and relaxed, I treat every pet like my own. Pet care fits easily into my routine. I’m a teacher, so I have a consistent schedule and plenty of availability before and after school, in the evenings, holiday breaks and on weekends. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I keep things clean, calm, and consistent.

About: I only accept one doggie family at a time, so your dog(s) will be the only ones here for boarding and doggie day care. I wanted to create a safe place for reactive dogs, little loners, and calm senior doggies who just want a place they can be themselves and have my full attention! I am a dog-lover with my whole life of experience in caring for them. I have had them in all shapes and sizes - my first two dogs being big German Shepherds to my last dog which was a little Maltipoo, and a few in between. I have potty trained quite a few dogs in my life, as well as helped them through their senior years. Most important of all, I will love your pets like they're my own children! 🩷 I'm currently working part time from home so I have plenty of availability to take your pup outside for potty breaks or walks and give them attention throughout the day. I have a safe, fenced yard with plenty of room for sniffing and sunshine. Big dogs will have room to run and fetch. I also have senior dog care items like a step to get on the couch. I allow dogs to be free in the house, they are never crated unless the owner specifically requests it as part of their nightly routine. In that case - I have a long gate that can be made into a pen, and a cage for a small dog, if requested. Pets are family here - I have always allowed my own pets on the couch or bed and will do the same for yours unless you prefer otherwise.
“Taylor was great with our dog Linus. He was easy to communicate with, and flexible with drop off and pick up times which was great given the traffic delays with our trip! He was also great with accepting more responsibility of feeding our cats while we were gone at last minute as other plans fell through. Thank you so much Taylor!”

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life so I’m very familiar with long walks playtime, feeding administering medication and most importantly love and comfortability. I hate to say it, but my dogs are spoiled like they are my own children so my Doberman is my son and my cocker spaniel mix is my daughter and I do refer to them that way 😂 I can’t wait for them to have a bunch of doggy cousins! My work weeks are pretty flexible. I go into work for a minimal amount of time. I have dogs of my own so I don’t like to keep them home alone for long. Our days are filled with cat naps long walks. They are free roaming animals so they’re welcome on the furniture and the bed. There is an outdoor patio area that is turfed that my own dogs enjoy . They are feed once in the morning once in the evening. My Doberman is also spent doing mental stimulation and training so I’m happy to teach your dog a few new tricks also :)

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Casa de Oro-Mount Helix
Couldn’t have asked for a better place to leave my dogs for the day. Neither of them had been to “daycare” before and it made all the difference to have such a well maintained, open space to explore and relax in. They were immediately excited to explore and didn’t even notice that I left. Dawn is so clearly calm and competent, I didn’t worry at all while I was gone. One of my dogs wanted to be in the house and spent a lot of time sleeping on her bed, and Dawn was kind enough to let her hang out there. The best sign they were happy and comfortable: one dog has separation anxiety, and when I came to pick them up, she was excited to greet me, but then immediately turned around and went back into the yard, explored more, then asked to be let into the house. I don’t live in the area but will definitely book again if I’m back.

Davian was so amazing! Our Rocky was in such great hands. She made sure to always keep us updated and sent us some great pictures of him. If you’re in the area, please reach out to her for pet services. Thank you again Davian for taking care of our sweet Rocky!

The JingChun couple are really very considerate. They often share photos and videos of the baby with me, and give him biscuits and beef liver. The baby is a very shy and timid dog, but at their home, I saw him happily running on the grass. Moreover, the baby's toilet habits are not good; he often poops on the mat, but they are still very patient. They take her to the toilet within 1-2 hours. Thank you for your patience with the baby, I highly recommend their home! You will definitely not be disappointed.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Casa de Oro-Mount Helix commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
