Pet care experience

I am your pet's best friend.

Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Charlie and I just wanted to briefly introduce myself so you know a little about me and the business! I am currently 34 and originally from a small town in Pennsylvania. I came out to San Diego almost a decade ago (time flies), to get my Masters in Criminology, which I have received: yay! After being saturated with education for my entire life, I decided that I wanted to pursue a new passion. This new goal is to have a full time business that focuses on a greater good, which in this regard, is assuring that pets are as happy, well taken care of, and as loved as possible while their owners may have other obligations. I've always loved animals and have been well received by most of them my entire life. I like to think it's because I embrace compassion upon meeting anyone and respect boundaries. I personally had multiple dogs and cats my entire life growing up and my best friend in high school was a guinea pig named Rascal. Any time I go to someone's house I start spending more attention to their pet than I do to them hahah. I like to think I share a strong bond with most animals because I share nothing but love and respect with them. My end goal is to make this my future career, and these animals are your children- thus I take this business very seriously. I provide 24/7 care, daily updates(although I do try to limit my phone exposure or it takes away my full attention from the animals), and a meet and greet is always welcome if you feel the need to request one, so then we can achieve a comfortable bond with everyone prior to the stay/walk. (I do get boarded up quickly and are fairly busy, so meet and greets may need to be brief.) IMPORTANT UPDATE #1: With this new year, I have slightly raised my prices due to popular demand. (I am so lucky to be busy and do this full time. 🙏❤️) I will, as always, be as flexible as I can be with cost: I don't want money to be the ultimate factor in giving your animal the best care possible. ❤️ I want to continue this career of loving and caring for animals for as long as I am able. IMPORTANT UPDATE 2!!: I have been getting booked fast as of recently due to popularity, so I ask that you try to pick up your pet(s) by 1pm after the last night of their stay with us if booking an overnight. I try to treat this business with hotel-esque policies, that way I can get our new clients in with prompt time for preparation. If you need to pick them up later, please let me know the time, so I can make further accommodations and possibly look into booking a reduced daycare rate for the day- I appreciate it and you! Also, as mentioned, I don't ever want cost to be the final decision maker for you not wanting to book; talk to me. ~My experience administering medication~ I have administered diabetic shots to dogs prior to our business due to my own animals having unfortunate issues. I have also had a plentiful amount of clients during these past 6 years of being a pet professional that have needed certain medication and injections. I have experience with dogs that have certain disabilities (hearing impaired, vision, walking) as well. Overall, I am very confident in taking care of any dog breed, and accommodating any needs for your fury loved one(s). As always, an open dialogue is key. ~Schedule~ This is my full time career; I do provide your animals with 24/7 supervision. My life revolves around them as do theirs to us. :) ~Safety, trust & environment~ I have a large, fenced in back yard that I take the animals out multiple times a day to potty and hangout if they'd like. I do not encourage rough house play, because certain clients can get reactive in certain situations, and although I am here 24/7 and everyone is always in view at all times, it can only take a second for something to happen. I try to encourage a calm environment so that your animal has a relaxed, loving, safe, home away from home.

Charlie took care of my Pomeranian for a week, and he was absolutely amazing! He took such great care of my pup, and I had complete peace of mind knowing my dog was in good hands. I truly appreciate the love and attention he gave throughout the week. I would definitely use Charlie again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Just picked up my four legged boys from Charlie for their first time at Charlies. They had a great time and are totally tired out. Charlie was great and will use him again!

Schedule

This is my full time job, as such, I am home with everyone 24/7 with the exception being brief meets and greets, and the short period of time it takes me to hand off/ pick up another client out front. Both of which only has me absent for maybe 1-5 minutes. I try my best to be quick, as I don't like leaving anyone alone, nor do they like me leaving, as they bark as soon as I step outside hahaha.

Safety, trust & environment

Everyone is always in view at all times and overall, I just try my best to have an open and calm environment for my pack. I limit play amongst themselves as well, just in case someone would get reactive in that situation. We all go outside in a fenced back yard a decent number of times per day to get fresh air, stretch, potty, etc, but again, my routine is to ensure that everyone is safe, loved, and relaxed until picked up. <3

Can always discuss everything either on here or in person during a meeting! Rover is now making sitters fill this out.... with a minimum character limit mind you, so this is me just doing my due diligence. If you're still reading this, and if no one told you recently: I love you.
